Eve lost her brother two years ago and is still struggling to understand where that kind of loss fits into the life she's trying to create for herself. Iris is a girl on the hunt for the most beautiful thing in the world, equipped with endless opinions on what exactly that looks like. When they meet at a party, both seeking the company of a cat instead of the company of others, it doesn't seem as though they'll meet again. But, against all odds, they do, and become fast friends. As their friendship grows deeper, they help the other to face the questions they're struggling to answer on their own. Is there something to be gained from loss? Is vulnerability worth the cost of being known? What is the power of human connection and, ultimately, the connection they have with each other?
Most days, Kelly can be found wading through her bookshelf-deep to-be-reads. On rarer days, she's making sure the people she loves know they're loved or hiking or falling too far into Spotify playlists. She lives in Oregon and is desperately writing always. Usually fan fiction. To procrastinate from putting her daydreams to paper.

I happen to know some of Kellys writing from her wonderful fanfics so I was very excited when I saw that she had written a book! And it was an amazing read. The writing style is easy and I read it quickly (even with all the Christmas madness going on). I fell in love with the characters: the main girls Eve and Iris, as well as all the smaller characters. They all felt real, independent, important and well fleshed out, which is something that's crucial for me. I loved the friend group (and I want to read more about Steve, Justin, and Ezra!). (And I loved loved loved the LGBT Rep!)
The theme of grief in this book also hit me hard (in a good way) since I'm in the process myself so a lot of the things discussed in this book were very relevant and personal to me. I feel like the topic was dealt with well and it helped to read about and work through stuff along with the characters.
All in all its a wonderful story with a calm atmosphere which was at times funny and sad and intense and profound and relatable. Definitely recommend!
A good story about grief and love. Without giving away the plat his story is about two girls coming from two different situations and finding each other and also friends along the way.
Why did I wait so long to read this book?! This novel was something I got because I was bored and read because I was again bored. But I was not expecting to have opened up this book and been so pulled in by the MC’s struggles with death, depression, relationships, communication, family and love. So much goes on in this story with characters that could have their own individual novels, but ultimately it’s about how much people need people and understanding. Is there minor editing issues and could a few parts here and there be adjusted, sure; But the core of this book is profound. Definitely a book I’m keeping in my favs folder on my kindle.
Soso sweet but not in a vapid way, everything felt genuine and heartfelt. Sometimes u just need sweet sapphics healing each other and spreading the love.
There were a few typos i love self published authors!!!!
