You’ve heard the phrase “God loves you.” But what does it really mean? And do you even believe it?
The 100 Bible verses compiled and explained in this book are a profound glimpse into the heart of Father God. They tell a story of the God who made you, knows everything about you, and who loves you so much that He went to hell and back for you.
If your daily life hasn’t been radically changed by the power of this love, then this book is for you.
Author Mark Stibbe is passionate about awakening people to the reality of the Father’s extravagant love. These carefully selected Bible verses from the Old and New Testaments will gently guide you to experience the depth of God’s love in amazing new ways.
The title of this little book is deceptive because it’s much more than just a listing of 100 Bible verses that will change your life. Although each of the 100 chapters opens with a verse of Scriptures from two translations of the Bible, the King James Version, which is my favorite translation, and the New International Version, which is written in modern English and easier for new Christians to understand. Although each new chapter opens with a verse of Scripture, the author explains what these Scriptures mean and how they are just as meaningful today as they were in the day when God inspired them to be written.
100 Bible Verses That Will Change Your Life by Mark Stibble is a book that every Christian needs to read at least once a year, right along with doing their Through the Bible In A Year Plan. Read it straight through the first time to get the big picture and then go back and read it one chapter at a time, meditating on what Mark has to teach, praying over it, seeking out ways to apply your new knowledge to your life. The chapters are short, so you can do two or three every week as part of your morning or evening devotional times.
100 Bible Verses That Will Change Your Life by Mark Stibble is a book that, for the new Christian, will make your Bible come alive for you.
An excellent review through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation revealing a greal deal of God's plan for humankind from beginning to end. The 100 verses give a great story of God's teaching and purpose. Readers should follow up this book with a thorough study of the Book of Acts as the apostles went throughout the world preaching and teaching the Gospel. Acts 2:38 makes it very clear that once one has heard and believes, repentance and baptism follows, and that baptism/immersion under water represnets our dying with Christ and rising up again to live the life that Christ planned for us.
Read 100 Bible Verses to give you a beginning and ending plan, and then study each and every book of the Bible, perhaps reading the Gospels and Acts first. Thank you to this author for sharing his knowledge of the Bible.
This book introduced me to information of the Bible that I was unaware of. I learned about many prophets and the influence of the disciples. The book provided me with helpful information of the Bible so I could look this up for myself. I was very disappointed that it was only in ebook format. I could really use it when I am in Bible studies at church. I highly recommend this book.
Each of the 100 Bible verses, which start with Genesis and move through to Revelation, are presented in both the KJV and the NIV. They are then followed by a short commentary. Each of the 100 Bible verses can be used as a short devotional for the day. (I did two per day.)
The purpose is to progressively lead the reader into understanding God the Father's love for each of us individually. Because this is the purpose, the devotional verses the author has chosen are not the ones we tend to memorize, but that's OK.
I generally found the short commentaries uplifting and fitting well with biblical orthodoxy, which is very important to me.
Please don't skip the last section, "A Lover Letter from Our Father." It reveals in a nutshell the nature of our Father and how much He loves us.
This book is a good choice for the Christian who struggles to believe God truly loves him or her.
Wish I could give it 2½ stars. This book was ok. I had a few highlights and a couple of thoughtful moments from it, but mostly it wasn't anything new to me. I suppose a new Christian or someone who hasn't read the Bible much might find a good amount of information in it, but nothing major stood out to me. Not terrible but a slight disappointment.
I am no stranger to the Word of God but this little book gave me insights I did not have before. It is a beautifully written walk through the Bible and renews and strengths one's faith as a Child of God.
This book was broken down into understandable explanations and in a way we'd never heard put just like it is. I think all people should read this book, some things on here I've never witnessed a pastor/reverend/preacher explain.
This book contains 100 Bible verses that will change your life but only if you let it. The Bible is a wonderful tool that will enrich your life and help you to grow in your spiritual walk with the Lord.
The Scriptures in this book give us a refresher on scriptures we may have read in the past and forgotten the true meaning. I'm glad I chose this book to read.
