Tess Camon has a genius level IQ and a biomedical engineering degree. She served in the Army and deployed as a medic with Special Forces units. She achieved “Expert” certification in the Army Weapons Qualification Course requiring hits on 36 of 40 targets. She hit all 40.
Now she is following in her parents’ footsteps, continuing with their research on a new prion discovered in the Papuan rainforest. It doesn’t take long before she finds this research is destined for much more than she ever anticipated. In the wrong hands, this research can lead to devastation, and her own government can’t be trusted to help her. With time running out, can she save the world from an outbreak of the most devastating bioweapon ever created for which her family is responsible? Who will survive the night?
Strap in for a genetic engineering story strong in characterizing and creativity! This is not a romance and does not offer a HEA, but it does deliver action and thriller-style questions that keep readers engaged.
This is an amazing story that will have your head spinning trying to guess what direction this will take. Seriously great story and an incredible author!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was fantastic! New author and new read to me and I loved it! The storyline was amazing and it kept me guessing throughout the whole book. When I got closer to the end and was trying to figure out how this all was put together, I found out I was way wrong and surprised didn’t even cover it. The way the book ended, it left it open for more to come and I really hope there is and I get to review it.
I loved this book! It was great! It kept me on my toes, I had suspicions about Tess. But was back and forth wondering what was going to happen! I kept wondering about her dad too and how he played into everything! Tom was something else that was a big shocker for me! I was shocked with how things turned out in end. I would definitely recommend reading!
Tess was so suspish from the start! Tom was the twist I didn't see coming! I really enjoyed this mystery read! Nothing was really as it seems send with fabulous writing and a truly lavish play in syntax Schofield has written an investigation that the reader gets to go on! I can not recommend this book!

A fantastic debut! This story is packed with suspense and will have you on your toes till the very end. Tess is the heroine you didn’t know you needed. She’s strong, intelligent and ready to save the world! Once I started, I couldn’t put it down. I was completely engaged. The story and the characters were very well written. I look forward to reading more from Mr. Schofield! I give this 5 stars.
this book was an interesting read with a slow start but got proggressively better at certain points and though i wasnt sure if i was going to be able to finish it im glad i did it has interesting take on things with good character development as well as a good plot
This book was very interesting to me. It is very well written and thought out. It really kept me guessing things and wondering how her father fit into everything. I was wrong with my guesses and shocked.
I liked the premise of the book and the “zombies,” when they finally did appear, were interesting. However the book is chaotic in its writing. A lot of strange choices in writing that made the story hard to follow most of the time.
The other issue, is it was only in like the last 10% of the books do you actually see the “zombies.” The books needs a rewrite before I’d recommend it to anyone.
This book was a real pleasure to read. I enjoyed it thoroughly. It is a modern parable for our times, and I was interested until the last page. I highly recommend it to any lover of realistic fantasy.
Bifurcation Point by Benjamin S Schofield is a mystery filled twister of a roller coaster from beginning to end!! You know there’s something wrong with this picture, but every time you start to develop a theory, it gets blown all to **** and back! A shocking story told so well, you forget you’re in a book! Absolute 5 star read. Please let there be more!
