This IS an interesting book with some good information. HOWEVER, I do have some issues with the book: 1) Hashimoto's is the name of the disease. It was not discovered by Dr. Hashimoto's. His name was Dr. Hashimoto. FFS. 2) Endless lists (usually of symptoms) in each chapter. Padding. 3) Continually refers to her first book (the revised edition of Stop the Thyroid Madness) and the STTP website. The STTP website, btw, has lots of good info but often refers to the books for details. 4) Could've used a bit longer with an editor.
There’s a lot of great information but there is frequent reference back to another one of the author’s books. While this in itself isn’t a big problem, the book is $25 and not available through my library so I have no idea what they’re referring to as I simply don’t have the funds to purchase the other book. My other minor complaint is the lists of symptoms - I know that this is to teach about the disease but once is sufficient, I don’t think it’s relevant to mention the same symptoms lists multiple times. Otherwise, this is an excellent reference and a book that all who have hashimoto’s disease should read.
I'm in the middle of absolutely devouring thyroid information. A lot of this book overlaps with Stop the Thyroid Madness, so I'm not sure if I learned too much new info, but I dont mind the key points being driven home enough times that I can actually commit it to memory. Great as the first book you pick up to learn about Hashis.
