Humor, Heat, Action and Sass...

"What the heck are you doing here? I could've killed you!"
"Sugar, I strolled on up, whistling. I figured you couldn't miss me."

A dick in Manhattan? You've got to be kidding me.

Don't get me wrong. I respect she's got plenty of attitude. I especially hold her Uncle Vinny, a mob boss, in high esteem. Both he and her police-chief father explain how I should book my own funeral if I mess with her.

Not much for authority, I thank them for their concern. However, she's mine and I plan on keeping her.

When she goes missing, at first I figure she's miffed. Yeah, I may not always take her career as seriously as she'd like. But hell, didn't I help her solve the missing-cat-caper? That should count for something, right?

When she doesn't answer my texts, I check with her family and my stupid heart stops.

Where the hell is she?

Suds and Sam will make you laugh and yet keep you turning one more page all night long.

Note: Beware of healthy, passionate, panty-melting scenes. No cliffhangers. Happy ending guaranteed.

Amazon Best Seller Stella Marie Alden loves Zumba, yoga, watercolor painting, and all genres of romances.

Her first book, ‘How to Train Your Knight’, won Romance Writers of America coveted Molly and Show me the Sparks Contests, and placed in four others.
Truly remarkable, considering she’s only been writing for three years.

Growing up in Vermont, she loved to make up stories. Crayons fought each other over size and placement in their cardboard box and imaginary friends crowded the house. Her brother often complained. “Tell her no one’s here, Mother.".

Her career paths have varied. She’s been a librarian, a classical clarinetist wanna-be, recording studio engineer, broadcast electronics repairman, and now she architects software programs.

She lives in Bergen County, NJ with her life-long hero and their two cats. Her two girls are grown but ever supportive. You go Mom!

The book starts in the present day with Samantha Russo, Private Detective (almost!) She is being kidnapped by her ex, Will. He places both in a cab and tells the cabbie to take them to the Port Authority. He gives the bus driver their tickets and they are off to Washington, DC.

Chapter One goes back to Two Weeks Ago. She has an interview with Slate at Patten Securities. Suds goes in with her. He feels bad because his “stalemate” interview with her for the FBI is what got her fired. Slate offers her a job as a contractor with Patten Securities and if it works out he will hire her.

While she is trying to figure out her life Suds gets a text from Slate. After telling Slate he can be in the office in 45 minutes Slate sends a file for him to read before he gets to the office . . . Congressman Thomas Bannerman’s wife was found dead in their Westchester home. Slate tells him to get Sam and head out to the home of their new client, the Congressman, to check out the scene and see if she is any good.

Now the story REALLY begins . . . Suds and Sam have a romantic connection that Slate doesn’t want Suds to act on, the two of them are working on the death of a congressman’s wife together, Sam’s dad is the NYC Chief of Police and her ex kidnaps her . . . yes, the fun is just starting

This book has some humor, mystery, and love. Sam’s family is a real mix of Italians—some with the police and others on the other side of the law. The people in the family are a real hoot at times. Sam was fired after working for the FBI for years and decides she wants to be a detective. She finds her ex cheating and ends up having sex with Suds who works for a Security firm. Suds helps her find a job at his firm and she moves back to New York and right in the middle of her family.

Sam and Suds were good together even though they both have issues from their past. The two end up working together some which had its moments. They are put on a murder case. The ex is also bugging her, but she just ignores him. This is a fun book that I encourage you to read. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.

Yet again stella Marie Alden doesn't disappoint with this next chapter in the boys from patten securities. Suds and Sam have an unique dynamic, which only gets better as the story unfolds. I love the antics of the three girls trying as they might to stave off their uncle vinny's involvement in their lives. While Sam struggles to get support for her new business venture. Great read can't wait for more.

I freaking love this book. Do I get a Stephanie Plum vibe? Yes. Do I care? Not one bit. Do I usually balk at the insta-love, super quick just met...love? Also, yes. However, I will say this... this book is so beautifully written that I believe it. I feel it. It makes sense. This book has action, suspense, comedy, friendship, family. I don’t want to give away anything of the plot of this book because it’s a treasure. I want you to go on the adventure for your self. Read this book. If you hate it I’ll write you an apology note. ;)

Suds and Sam is the first book in an all new series. There is a prequel but you can fully enjoy this story even if you haven’t read that. If you’ve read other books by Stella Marie Alden then you’ll also know some of the characters that make appearances in this story. You do not really require all the background of everyone but it’s nice to know.

Samantha used to work for the FBI. She was their star analyst until she had to interview Sebastian (Suds). Things go really wrong and she looses her job, then finds out her boyfriend was cheating on her. Everything basically falls apart at once. It’s as she’s picking up the pieces that this book starts. Sam has decided to become a private detective. As an analyst she doesn’t really have field experience but she’s very eager anyways. Suds gets her hired with Patten Security and they partner up on a case with a Congressman who’s wife was murdered. They also partner on Sams detective jig which involves a catnapping.

This story is super fun. The characters are funny and sweet, at the same time there’s such a fierce independence about them both. I loved how they navigate the pitfalls of a budding relationship amongst all the added drama. Sams Family is also full of unique and fun characters. I hope they continue to be a big part of this series in later books.

Something happens in chapter 15 that a few of you might not be okay with. I won’t go into detail but I think it’s important to point out that PTSD is a real thing, it’s serious and effects more than just those in the military. Mental health is so important and as a society we need to erase the bad stigma surrounding seeking help. It does not make you weak, it’s the first real step towards healing. PTSD not only impacts the suffering individual but also those around him/her, everyone that cares about them. Thank you Stella Marie Alden for continuing to shine a spotlight on issues like this that are prevalent in today’s society.

I received an advanced copy of this book from the author and am leaving a voluntary honest review.

It's true, it does read like a Stephanie Plum novel. The mix of characters is eclectic, a chief of police for a father, a mob boss for an uncle, an Italian salon run by her aunt, and then the cousins! Hilarious. The banter is amazing between them all. The POV from Suds is quite good as well. Dates with Skinny Stevie and Petey in exchange for rent, nuff said, but no kissing ... names for when they have sex, totally awesome!

The sex scenes are hot as well with Sebastian and Sam. Real issues are also dealt with and it was an enjoyable read and it went by too fast. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I received this advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.

I have to say, Sam's family hilarious! It was fun to read the interaction with her big family and friends and how they all want to find her a husband. But Stud and Sam were a great team, how Stud know how to handle her and knew when she left something out or did not tell the truth was great, the chemistry between the two was over the roof. The story was just totally unique with her work choices or better what she wanted to do for work and her failures. And don't start me on Jason, I am wondering if such a virtual character exist. All in all it was a really good book with a solid story and two very great character.
I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

I love the Patten Securities guys. Suds is no different. He has charisma and is an all out alpha male with a mild wide protective streak. Sam is funny, intelligent, smart and with a great personality. The chemistry between the two of them is off the charts. This story is full of drama, suspense, mystery and hot sexy romance. It draws you in a doesn’t let go. It is extremely well written and beautifully developed characters. The flow of the story is superb. We get to see some of the other Patten Security guys that just adds to the story. It is a must read and doesn’t disappoint. I voluntarily review an advanced reader copy of this book.

Ohmigod...what a totally kickass read! Suds and Sam is definitely a two thumbs up book. You’re going to laugh out loud, cry like a baby, and want to wring both of their necks for being so silly. I have to admit I read the Bushwick series and Suds in a character throughout. He is such an interesting character; I couldn't wait to read his story. When he gets together with Sam, the big, tough bodyguard once again shows his heart. I love the witty banter between Suds and Sam. They are the perfect personality counter for the other. This couple also has a lot of heat. When they get together, the steam fills the pages.

Sam mentions Stephanie Plum when wondering what she would do in certain situations. If you have read any of the Plum books, you will find the style of this book familiar. The female characters are strong, know what they want and aren't afraid to go after it. Suds is kind of a blend of the two men in the Plum books. He is a bad@ss like Hawk but street smart like Moretti. There are even neighborhood/family characters that are each so unconventional, almost eccentric. Just like the Plum series, the Suds and Sam series is a joy to read. You will find yourself smiling while reading. It is such a fun story.

Suds and Sam Book 1 is a standalone story with a happily ever after. The book has an interesting plot with mystery, comedy, kidnapping and murder. I can't to read the next Suds and Sam book.

Once again Stella Marie Alden has book that I will be rereading again and again.

In trying out new authors in the last year, I clicked on a free book by Stella Marie Alden called Suds and Sam. It turns out that this story was number one in a thirteen-book series. Normally, I like light-hearted, funny stories, but those advertised as such generally fall short of the job. This series is FUNNY and mystifying, and lovingly H-O-T as Samantha Russo (former FBI) and Suds Sutcliff (former military) go about solving cases and trying to right the world’s wrongs. Oh, and Samantha is not a private eye, though she wants to be; consequently, she gets herself in lots of trouble. Throw in Samantha’s family comprised of cops and mafia members and the hilarious complications arise. Each book can be read as a stand-alone story, but there is so much more value if readers enjoy them in the order written. There are many little details missed, especially with the mysterious cases they are solving, if not read in order, and it’s always fun trying to figure out what is going on before the end. Alden’s skill in weaving a story around a mystery is so good that booklovers will relish the plots of each tale. Five stars for the Suds and Sam series. Keep writing, Lady! I’m reading everything you publish.

This is a new series, a spin off from the patten Bodyguard series so if you have read them you wiĺl have background to other characters. And once again Stella Marie Alden has kept the pages turning. Suds is former military now bodyguard, Sam is former, FBI, want to be private eye. Sam looses her job and finds out her long time boyfriend is cheating has a steamy "revenge sex" night with Suds....and things go from there, but Patten security has also contracted a job out with Sam, and pyts Suds with her....they have chemistry both on and off the job, there are twists and surprises throughout.
Stella also brings to life true side effects of PTSD, in this case for Suds from his military career. She brings it about to show aspects from all sides. PTSD is a very difficult illness to deal with, for all people involved, and the way she portrays this is fantastic.
This is not my 1st book and will definitely not be my last.

I really did enjoy this book.

I've never read anything by this author before. I don't know about her other series, but I liked She's and Sam. I enjoyed the suspense and the humor. Two complaints. Take into consideration this my opinion. Doesn't mean it's everyones. Read it for yourself and form your own opinion. I'm not one who notices bad spelling (as long as it's not every other word). It does get annoying when the author gets the characters named wrong. I didn't notice any of that, in this book. It took a while to get the story moving. There is a murder, right off, but it takes long time, to get into an investigation and action. For me a lot could have been deleted and also a few sex scenes. Delete some wasted words and push the vacated spaces together. The story would move faster and finally get to something pertaining to the murder. I will read another one of the authors books, just not this one.

one I’d previously missed in the series, great to catch up!

Finally! I can’t believe I haven’t read this book before, I read the prequel and lots since, but somehow missed reading the actual creation of Suds and Sam! This has all the hallmark mayhem and havoc of the series with the lives of main characters at risk at various points, it provides more of the background, and characters, for them both and is just a non stop glorious romp, that I’m glad I finally got to read, once again, thankyou Stella Marie Alden for this series full of humour and sass, a nice reprieve from every day life!

Better Then Expected

Sam is a funny, determined and family oriented woman. Sam decides to change her life by walking a fine line as a member of a mob family. She had a wake-up call when she decided to leave her long term boyfriend. The story takes interesting twists and turns because she is working on becoming a private detective. Suds comes into her life when she needs a major distraction after leaving her ex. Their story is funny, steamy and full of enhancing details. This is a fun read, enjoy!

Definitely fun to read. I loved it when she referenced Stephanie Plum and other detectives it would be something I would do. Oh, how would this person get out of this!? The whole cast of characters are enjoyable, I found myself wanting to smack the bad guys and holy cow the family holidays must be interesting with her Uncle a mob boss and her Dad a cop! Now that's a story I'd like to know more about.

It Was OK

Sebastian "Suds" Sutcliff is effin hilarious! He was probably funnier because I read everything he said with a southern accent. I did the same thing with Samantha "Sam" Russo...but sub in a Brooklyn accent.

I liked the mystery that Suds and Sam got wrapped up in, and there was a good bit of action...but it was still just OK. This is probably the longest it's taken me to read a book in nearly a year. It was alright...it just wasn't a page-turner.

They are cute

The story is well thought out and executed nicely. The main character are believe and and well developed. The story gives you the background you need without you realizing it. You just absorb it. I really like that about the book It unfolds naturally. I will be reading more of Samantha and Sebastian. If you couldn't tell by now enjoyed the book and her (Stella Marie Alden) style of writing.

It has action, mystery, comedy, romance and spice. What is even better, it flowed from start to finish. Character and story buildup spot on. Character chemistry and interactions with all the characters, completely there. An author that can give you a great start that immediately grabs you, keeps you involved in the book through the last word, than the end is not rushed, makes you excited for the next book but not cheated on the current book, she did it all.

Couldn't put it down

I just read this book cover to cover in an afternoon. It was that good. I'm not a fan of graphic sex so that's why I rated it one star shy of perfect. Lots of action and great characters. I love Uncle Vinny. If you can put it down and walk away for a few hours, you are a stronger person than me. And I represent murders and drug dealers for a living!

It would be easy to dismiss this sexual romp to the bedroom with its profanity and poor editing, especially since Sebastian behaves like a pubescent teen.
A female FBI Agent with ties to the mafia and a police chief father is more than meets the eye. If you enjoy reading about penile engorgement this prequel will probably whet your appetite for the series that follows.

I'm hooked in a big way

A zany family, a woman who knows what she wants, and a hawt southern uber alpha. Stella Marie Alden delivers it all with a side of mystery and intrigue to ramp it all up. Suds and Sam is a new series that kept me giggling, fanning my face repeatedly, and guessing as to who the real villian was. I'm completely hooked on this new series!

My kind of book! Mystery, steam, attraction, humor, sassy girl, wonderful guy. He's a bodyguard. She is struggling and wants to be a private detective. Loved the family dynamics. Sam's father is a police chief. Her mother from a crime family. Aunts, uncles and cousins all a hoot! All so entertaining.

Suds and Sam

This is a lighthearted romance that captured my heart halfway through the first chapter. I could barely put it down. Loved it! I can’t wait to read the next book. It is a zany caper solving crime and falling in lust. And so entertaining. If you are a fan of Colleen Helme, I think you will enjoy this one too.

Lots of laughs and canoodling

Samantha (Sam) after being fired as a FBI analyst decides she wants to be private detective, Suds works for a private security . The sexual sizzle between these two are hot as they can't keep their hands off of each other. The antics these two get into had me laughing and smirking thru out the book. Sitcom comes to mind for mature audience.
