4 Hot Little Kitty Stars ⭐

Apart from this divine cover, this was quite an enjoyable little read. Was it perfect, not really and am I am being generous with my rating; well yes! I couldn't resist especially since it featured my favourite trope; the oblivious gorgeous heroine, and the hot alpha content to be the kind of man she needs...

"On the outside, she was the quintessential nerd girl, awkward with large glasses to hide her face but her body was like a sin, curved for my large hands and she smelled like old paper and cinnamon."

Franny Gresham is aware that she has an unhealthy relationship with book boyfriends. As a book store manager, it’s just easier. But recently her ‘safe’ life has been shaken up with the reoccurring appearance of a sexy customer every Wednesday.

"You act like that man isn’t stuck on you like bees on honey. I wish one of you all would just make the damn move already."

Trent knows he needs to tread cautiously not to spook the focus of his lust. Especially since what he seems isn’t exactly who he is. He is adamant that Franny is the perfect girl for him but getting her to see his way of thinking requires kid gloves. However, when he discovers her kryptonite, the stars will align.

"Just give me a chance to be who you need each day. I saw how you took care of everyone around you and you never let anyone take care of you. I want that job."

The first half of Bookstore Nerd had me smiling sweetly and I really enjoyed the style of this author’s writing. Unfortunately, as this is a very short novella, their relationship progressed far too quickly in the second half once they gave into their attraction. Throw in a little daddy kink, and it helped me overlook this flaw.

"I love him from afar, that's how this works."
This was adorable and sweet and silly and short.

And yes, I'm overstating the rating, but sometimes a story just rubs you the right way on the right day. It's worth a read if you have KU. <3

Warning: this book contains mild daddy-kink. If that's not your jam like it is mine, stay far away.

Thanks for finding this for me, Isabella! 🥰

LOL, ohmygod, what have I just read.

It's a silly story, insta-love-style and completely unedited. But I guess I'll give it 3,5 stars for the Daddy kink and the sweetness. Because sometimes we just need some sugar in life.

Yaaay for the author for putting the story out there.

Debut book by this author!!

Franny is a shy akaward bookworm who works at a bookstore and been crushing on a customer for some time now. He is her crush and boyfriend in her head lol Trent had been keeping a tiny secret he really isn't a normal guy he is a rich fker lol but he doesn't want to scare off Franny so he acts poor-ish.. their cute on flirting and he ask her about romance books and the difference between a dom and daddy ;) now idk if its a daddy book.. cuz it doesn't feel like a daddy book.. Franny reads them and called him it a few times.. but Trent isn't really a daddy.. :0 so idk maybe semi-daddy??

Before their first date happens well Franny finds out his tiny temper and his true self... a rich guy and she runs away.. he lets her take one night by herself before he's back telling her everything.. ;) and not letting her go.

No ow/om drama, no cheating, secondary chara,  slight sexy time, tiny tiny drama, Virgin gal not a manwhore guy

Recommend- yes/maybe

4 🔥 hot 📚 bookworm 📚stars🔥

A quick hot read and I'll be watching for the next release by Lena Frances.

Franny was your regular bookstore manager, overworked, well-read, highly imaginative and undeniably awkward. Not the cute awkward though. And did I mention she was naturally clumsy, tripping and falling regularly and dropping things?!
Franny had a great relationship, unfortunately only in her head. And we all know how sad and miserable life can be when your boyfriend is only a figment of your imagination.

Luckily for Franny, her imaginary boyfriend was an actual person. A person who most likely didn't know that she existed beyond quiet hellos and handing him comics. But still, he was real.

Trent, the boyfriend in question, was the opposite of everything Franny. Big, hard, muscular and 🔥hot hot hot!🔥And we all know that a man like him wouldn't think twice about a dork like Franny. Or would he?

Trent has been pinning for the small little bookworm from the very first day he laid eyes on her. And he'll do anything to make her his. But he is affraid the little sexy bookworm will get spooked and bolt when she finds out who he really is. Because Trent is one of the big loaded guys that Franny resents.

So Trent comes up with a plan, to slowly draw his sexy bookworm in. But plans don't always work as they're supposed to and Trent may have just found his match.

Just give me a chance to be who you need each day. I saw how you took care of everyone around you and you never let anyone take care of you. I want that job.
The question is, will Franny agree?

I loved Franny because she seems so real and is so easy to identify with!! And Trent... Let me just say that, despite the fact that I too resent big loaded guys, this particular loaded Neanderthal did manage to get under my skin. :D

A great debut that I wish would have been longer, this sweet and steamy short story is perfect for all those in search of a hot read.

I'll start with the daddy-kink...have never & will never be interested in a story where the male likes to be called daddy. Just nope. Now the book. A short novella with some sweet moments & then bam! these two people, barely acquainted with each other are hot & heavy at the back of the bookstore. With limited pages to work with, the story has to move quickly, & it does. Descriptions that come to mind are: quirky, cringe-worthy. sweet & fast paced. Yes, I did read to the end but it was just ok for me.

Book Boyfriend to Real Boyfriend

This was my first book by Lena and I really enjoyed it! I'm glad the cover and blurb caught my eye.

Franny is a bookstore manager, a bit nerdy, shy, and clumsy (because who can't relate to that?! I know I can!) who has a crush on a handsome regular customer, Trent.

But here's the thing about Trent, he's not exactly who he appears to be (don't worry it's good), but he doesn't want to scare Franny off...she is his.

I loved this story and how possessive and dominate Trent was when it came to Franny. I REALLY loved their Daddy/kitten (lg) play and I that secret other side of Trent, yeah that's a favorite for me too.

I will definitely be back to read more from Lena!

The h is cliché after cliché that i hate! The beautiful librarian that doesn't know it... she is shy, clumsy, distracted and 25y virgin! She says that she hates millionaire bad-boys ( prejudice much?!)

The H is a millionaire bad-boy pretending to be a regular guy! He is all alpha about she being his, even without knowing but does't make a move because she will be scared.
He describe her to be small, thin but with curves and boobs big for her body (???)!

It was to cheesy for me... DNF

Quick Steamy love story

Billionaire Alpha meets shy beautiful bookstore manager. It’s insta-love for both of them but both are hesitant to make a move until finally Trent makes his move on Franny. This is a quick super steamy story of the Alpha and the Virgin. Thoroughly enjoyed; the love scene was very down and dirty. I wanted more of this story but hopefully we see more of this couple if there are more books in this series. For a first book I was impressed and next book would want a little longer story because this one definitely hit the mark. So if you want a quick hot read this is the book for you.

Probably the shortest and the worst book I read this year. Few grammar mistakes - not a major issue- but the plot is full of cringe.

I’m conducting a little experiment. I recently read that if you think your writing stalls in certain scenes, i.e. the love scene, fight scene…, to dedicate a week, two weeks, a month to reading everything you can in that genre. In this case, I was thinking my writing needed more visceral description, well what could be more visceral than smut?

Bookstore Franny has a boyfriend, he's just in her head. The thing is, he's a real person - her favorite customer. Trent, her favorite customer, feels the tension between them and is about to make the imaginary, reality.

So bummed! It had books! romance! nerdy-ness but let me down so much :( The set-up felt like it took forever, so much backstory! Also, there was lots of "telling" not enough "showing", clumsy dialogue and some interesting grammatical choices that had me rereading sentences. In the end, I was bored and for such a short book (53 pages), it felt long. Somewhere around the 60% I didn't care what happened to Franny or Trent, I just wanted it to be over.

Good

I liked so much about this book. I liked Feanny and Trent was definitely swoon. The story was entertaining and steamy, I didn’t give it five stars only because I didn’t realize is what trope it was and this really isn’t my kind of trope. It’s very cringy to me. That’s the only thing that turned me away from this book.

With a sexy and with way of writing Lena, makes you apart of the story and you become engrossed in this flirty and sexy relationship. A quick read but fun nonetheless.

First things first; I love the cover of this book.
Bookstore nerd is book one in the ‘’stores on sycamore’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. Bookstore nerd is the first book of Lena France’s that I have read and the first she has released. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable.
Franny is a self-confessed book nerd. She loves her job as manager of a bookstore. She has a crush on a handsome customer that visits the shop every Wednesday. Trent is a successful businessman. He has a crush on Franny but he knows he has to take it slow. When Trent finally makes a move to claim his woman, how will she react when she learns his secret? She hates rich, arrogant, suit wearing businessmen; will she give Trent a chance?
The chemistry between Trent and Franny is clear to see and I liked them as a couple.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.

I saw this book recommended on Instagram and being a book nerd myself I had to read it. What a cracking debut novel. A quick steamy read is sometimes just the thing you need.
I loved how Trent fell hard for Franny and wanted to give her the world and protect her. There’s a shy book nerd in each of us just craving a sexy alpha male to come whisk us away. It was an excellent start to what looks like a new series of books. I hope we get to see more of Franny and Trent as reoccurring characters.

There were some grammatical errors within this book that will hopefully get picked up and edited but they in no way spoil your enjoyment of this book.

Bookstore Nerd

Lena Frances is a new author to me. Her and this book were recommended by a trusted friend. I wasn't sure about it because I'm extremely picky about the DD/lg that I read (seriously I have 1 or 2 authors that I will read). That being said I am so glad that I gave this one a chance. I loved it and will definitely be reading more from her in the future.
