Getting somewhere and other stories is a collection of short stories. This collection is slightly more aimed at younger readers, younger in heart that is. If you have a memory of what it's like to be young, then these stories should bring more than a smile. From a small boy making his name in the world, to people realising that we all have a place to fill, a very mysterious true story about a coin and another true tale regarding a fish, there should be something for everyone here.
BRIAN MORTON is the author of four previous novels, including Starting Out in the Evening, which was a Salon favorite book of the year and was made into an acclaimed feature film, and A Window Across the River, which was a Book Club selection on the Today show. He is the director of the MFA program at Sarah Lawrence and teaches at New York University and the Bennington Writing Seminars.
