A POST-APOCALYPTIC SURVIVEL SERIES THAT SHOWS YOU HUMANITY CAN SURVIVE IF YOU BAND TOGETHER

In an event that takes down the the electronics worldwide caused by terrorist attacks a soldier and his military K9 band together to survive, grow their community, and fight to protect not only themselves but those that are unable to protect, feed, and shelter themselves. It's a story of determination to fight not only to survive the current battle but to survive to create conditions for the survival of generations to come.

Our main heroes, Jason, MMax, and Kat along with the rest of the Walker family and thier little community on Jason's parents farm take like minded people, provide housing, feed and clothed them, and train them to protect and feed themselves. The only thing that is asked in return is that they work together and work hard to feed and protect their little community on their family farm.

This story is full of hardships and losses, friendships and relationships, and struggles to survive the harshness thrown at them by those that will take everything you have including your life and the lives of your love ones just because they can. It's not easy. It's hard work, it's sweat, blood, and tears. But, if you have the determination, morals, and band together with people of the same mindset, you not only have a chance to survive but succeed in growing your community for generations to come.

AJ Newman has written another great book and series that shows the potential of humanity even though some of humanity is just plain evil and ruthless and those who choose to harm others need to know the consequences of their actions and need to no longer be allowed to walk the same ground and breathe the same air.

I have really enjoyed this book and series and plan on reading additional books AJ Newman has written. I hope you, too, will find yourself enjoying this series.

War Dogs by A. J. Newman

Five Fantastic Stars ✨✨✨✨✨
World Building 🌏🌏🌏🌏🌏
Characters 💁‍♀️👩‍🌾🙍‍♀️🙍‍♂️🙍
Storytelling 📖📖📖📖📖

I purchased War Dogs in a trilogy package.

Book 1 Heading Home.
Jason Walker and his K9 buddy MMax are part of the US military, serving in a war overseas, are severally wounded and flown back to the states. Nearly home when something happens and the plane falls out of the sky. When Jason wakes inside his medi pod, he realises that he and MMax were left for dead. This is the story of how Jason and MMax band together and face adversity head on, the people they meet and help along the way as he slowly drags his and MMaxs broken body home.

Book 2 No One Left Behind.
Jason , his Dad and MMax leaves the safety of the farm to search and rescue his sister and his brother and his family. Tragedy befalls them as they go from one tight situation to another. They help new friends but also loose people close to Jason. He saves a pocked sized hell cat whose name is Kat who gave as good as she got.

The world is a bleak and meaner place, where death and tragedy is all around.

Book 3 Amazon Warrior
Jason finds that the balance of men to women ratio is heavily disproportionate. To survive and ensure their farm isn’t over run by bandits, thugs, thieves and FEMA, Jason has to train the women into an effective fighting force. The Warrior Women fight and die to protect their new home, friends and loved ones.

I really loved reading these books. The new apocalyptic world is a harrowing, uncertain and hopeless place to live. People turn on one another just for food scraps but the story expands throughout the three books to where there is a light on the horizon, and people evolve to work for the betterment and safety of their farm, their new home and undertake new challenges like farming and training to fight.

There are many characters in the three books and all are well thought out, rounded, and evolve along with the story.

Would I recommend these books. Hell yes.

It seemed as though the ending left us hanging and wanting more.
Hope the author continues the series for us.

It seemed as through the review prior to going to print was not as good as it should have been. Some of the grammar was a little off, unless you were trying to talk Tennessee!

Jason and his band of warriors fight to secure a peaceful future for their families and friends.

With everyone working hard to expand their gardens and fields, Jason has a group lead by the priest making old fashion siege weapons to maximize the effectiveness of his small army. Several groups of survivors have joined Jason's mutual assistance group and they were training the other fighters in advanced tactics and weapons. Things are getting slightly better when the General (John Long) sends some warriors to Jason's mother's compound with gifts and enticements to work together to fight off a large group trying to conquer their settlements. With three women for every man surviving the apocalypse, some of the other groups had single men looking for partners. Things are looking up, if they can keep escaped big game from the zoo from eating their livestock and people.
Great characters you can cheer for, weep for, some you just want to hug and let them know it's alright. Others you want to kick in the butt and tell them to get with the program. Then there's some you hated, you couldn't wait to see them get their comeuppance, that suddenly have a change of heart and switch to the good side.
Altogether, this has been a great series and a great read!

Enjoyed this series and actually read it straight through!

This deserved five stars with good strong characters who kept me entertained for many hours. I liked how a major bad guy changed throughout the series. Rarely do circumstances allow a character to credibly change so drastically, I believe war might provide the right opportunities. While some characters received more attention, I liked that there were a large group of people with equally well thought out story lines. I'll be watching for this authors next book!

Better and Better

Either this author grew on me or his books in this series got better with each installment. I enjoyed the characters and the main character’s personality. The dialogue was fairly stilted but the narrative often displayed a sly sense of humor and some actual quality. As warned by the author in the introduction, there’s not much helpful information on prepping but as a work of fiction I found it thoroughly enjoyable.

Great read

Well that series is done and I’m on the lookout for another one of AJ’s series. This one ended well and gives me hope for our future. I know it’s just a matter of time before the “TSHTF” something will happen if our world doesn’t open our eyes soon. These series that AJ and others write about will come true and I can only hope and pray that there are enough “good guys” around to put it back together for future generations.

Good

I'm a little conflicted about this book. I loved the first book enjoyed the second one but I feel that this one lacked a little substance. Almost as if the author decided that the series would be 3 books and then tried cramming a satisfactory ending into this story. Still enjoyable, but could have been so much more...

Best Series Ever!!

MMax and Jason have to share the role of HERO in this series. The tale would flounder without both of them. So many engaging characters and almost too much action...but totally necessary to arrive at the perfect ending. AJ Newman is definitely a fave for me now!

Good Story

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys dystopian survival stories. The ONLY reason that I did not give it five stars is because it could really benefit from a good editing. It is full of awkwardly worded sentences, misused words, similar and rhyming names, and alliteration, all of which distracts from the otherwise great story.

Loved it

Don't know if the characters or the dogs were my favorite. The series was fantastic. Lots of gritty fighting, but what I most like is the books are clean, not much cursing or gratuitous sexual content. Recommend.

Good story!!

A decent story about a post disaster future. If an EMP attack is a good possibility, why isn't everything hardened for it? Oh yeah, it's too much money for such a thing. I hope our tanks, jeeps and
other battlefield equipment is resistant.

Patriots may have a hard time but they are winners...

Hard times and violence separate the boys from the men. Love and faith, however unite the goodness in people. Unwavering principle's deliver the rewards of success.
