Then there was a murder.

And now, Maggie Kelburn is on the run from a killer.

Maggie Kelburn is an ordinary woman who lives on an ordinary street. A quiet street where nothing unremarkable happens.

Until a neighbour is murdered.

Maggie doesn’t know she captured the murder on video until a surveillance expert, Sam Ward, shows her the footage. Together, they take the recording to the police.

But the recording device is stolen from the police station. And a short while later, Maggie’s home is invaded. A chilling message is left for her: I know what you saw

Sam convinces Maggie to seek safety in another town, and he offers to help her. But can Maggie trust Sam? Can she trust anyone?

Maggie leaves her home and travels from one side of the country to the other as she tries to find safety, and justice for the neighbour who was murdered.

I'm an avid fan of mystery stories. I started reading Agatha Christie novels at an early age. My favourite fiction detective is Poirot, I love his fussy ways and his attention to small details. I love the TV series, 'Murder She Wrote' and have watched every episode. I like working out who the killer is, and what the clues are.

I live near Leeds, Yorkshire, which is in the north of England. My two daughters live with me and they are understanding about my passion for mystery shows! I've now discovered 'Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries'.

I've been wanting to write my own mystery stories for years - and now I finally have.

Enjoyed the mystery.
Maggie unknowingly films a murder in her camera and approaches Sam to have the pictures developed.
The story goes on about how the killer figures out about Maggie having the pictures and Maggie and Sam race to find the killer and try not to get killed.
Enjoyable read.

I know what you saw by Gillian Larkin.
A fantastic read with some likeable characters. I liked Maggie and Sam. Didn't like Jake. He grew on me. What a twist. Didn't see that coming. I hope there is more to come. 5*.

Gripping read

Unlike most cozy mysteries, this book has me thinking pretty much till the end who the killer was. Very different to the other author's series of book, but oh so good.

I Do Kn

Maggie Kelburn has been a widow for many years and let's everyone know that she can take care of herself although "taking care of herself" means living in a vacuum. No adventure, No changes in her daily life. Maggie is quiet and shy and afraid of change!!

Maggie has living in her back garden and She loves to watch them and talk to them. She has tried to tell her neighbors about the little family but they don't believe her. So she buys a small camera to put out on her backyard to prove the hedgehogs are there. The following morning she goes out to get the camera but it is now in front of her house and is damaged so she cannot open it to see what has been recorded. She takes it to a Surveillance Shop for help! There she meets the owner, Sam and his son, Jake. She is embarrassed to tell.them what she was recording. Sam opens the camera and views the film. After seeing the hedgehog family, a fox picks up the camera and takes it down the street where it is dropped and the camera records a man being murdered. Maggie and Sam take the film to the police where it disappears!! The police do not take the case seriously and treat both Maggie and Sam as nut cases.

Sam is determined to help Maggie and the two go on the run. The only problem is it seems the murderer is right behind them all the way. Sam gets shot while trying to protect Maggie while both Sam's son and Maggie's son are pulled into the case.

I found myself biting my nails in anticipation of what will happen next. I really did NOT have a clue who the murderer would be. Can hardly wait for the next book.

Maggie is a widow with an adult son. She is an involved neighbor. Which means she pays attention to what is happening in her neighborhood.

One evening she was filming so she could see the hedgehogs who live in her garden. What she saw was something completely different. She saw one of her neighbors being murdered. Or did she?

She takes her film to a shop which sells security equipment. She meets Sam and his son Jake. Sam looks at the film and realizes immediately that Maggie could be in big trouble.
If the murderer realizes that she saw the murder, there is only one solution, she must be killed.

Thus begins a trip toward finding a killer and not being murdered in the process.

This is my first time reading a book by Ms Larkin, She is a good author who has a talent for creating characters. I am a fan of Sam. His middle name should be “Be Prepared”. He is truly heroic.

At times I got impatient with Maggie. I am not a fan of dithering, and she was a pro at that. Eventually, by the final one third of the book, she became more pro-active and I liked that.

I enjoyed this book.

This is a well done mystery. The reader has clues to follow so as things move forward, the reader is moving right along. Actually, the villain was not difficult to find and the journey to final punishment was a good one.

I will look for another story by Ms Larkin.

A recording from last night could mean something more. Could Maggie have accidentally caught a murder on tape? Could she have a murderer on her street? Did they see what she saw? And was she in danger now?

Although it sounded interesting, story kind of lags. Maggie makes herself crazy fretting and worrying over what she might’ve seen. In fact, she often doubts herself and goes into denial, thinking that there were no killers on her street. O-kay. But then she goes snooping around anyway, not spying very well, in my opinion. The read was kind of dull sometimes.

Interesting concept, okay read.

A middle-aged widow accidentally discovers a murder. The police dismiss her and the only one seemingly on her side is the owner of a surveillance store. But a cunning killer has lethal plans for Maggie.

although there are some good moments of humour this cozy mystery drags and lags. Maggie gets truly annoying with her worrying and obsessing. Got to say by the end of the book I was kind of rooting for the killer. Maggie loses her charm quickly the potential for romance is cute but neither Maggie nor Sam behave maturely. A few laughs but not much else to recommend.

Fast, fun read!

Nozy neighbor, bit off more than she could chew. While recording the hedgehogs in her garden, she also recorded a murder. She went to get help from a professional. Things really heated up then!

It is an easy read, nothing serious, funny about the hedge hogs and all the planted shirts etc. The end of course is charming, all saved, bad one in jail.
A kind of naive living, safe neighbourhood funny murder thing......

Boring in places
The story started out well, but when the killer was identified eventually, it just carried on for far too long and became boring and ridiculous .
Maggie came across as a really helpless and hopeless person and you didn't want to root for her

Quick fun read

3.5 ⭐️ i really enjoyed this one. The way Maggie acted was a lot like how i think i might react in a similar situation 😂 a good mix between confusion, worry and anger. 🦔🐾 who doesn’t love hedgehogs?

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK!

It is definitely a good gripping book. I never thought it would of been her friend who is behind everything. I am so glad that Sam & his son was there to help. I just wish there was a follow up from this story. I’d definitely read more books from this Author

Cute mystery

This book kept you wondering until the end. The main character Maggie seems like a little bit of a scatter brain. Never would have figured out who the killer really was. What a twist.

I must admit to being disappointed 😞 in this story that is overly simplistic. Maggie inadvertently records a murder and frets about theteafter, as a widow living alone frets for her safety but happily decides to investigate.
It didn't hold my attention. 3 stars

Jolly old English Mistery

The novel started off gripping and quite compelling, got a little slow in the middle, but kept your interest and finished really strong.
