I wonder what is that big thing that was in the locked room, it looks like a futuristic motorcycle or maybe it has lots of weapons stored in it i guess i will know in the next volumes.
Izumi or as i like to call him 'pretty nishi' since they are really one and the same maybe nishi was more deranged than izumi, then again izumi is one weird villain, he looks so good and he was a good person since he showed up, then he went crazy to get back to the world of gantz, putting the readers in a weird spot, we didn't hate the guy yet as much as we hated nishi, even so he is more terrible than nishi by killing all these humans

Probably the weakest entry tus far. After the insane fucked up last volume we slow things down for a bit before a lot of people start dying.

So the crazy insane murderer has gotten his way. He is now in the Gantz room with just about everyone else he killed. They don't know it's him though due to him wearing a black face in the previous volume. So now he's on the hunt, loving the feel of almost dying, every chance he gets he murderers. The other people in the room like usual have no clue what to do. Kei must now protect himself with his suit verses...dinosaurs? What!?

Good: I enjoyed some of the fights in here, easier to follow and epic. I also thought the end of the mass murdering was satisfying but then he came right back. Also the new girl is super cute.

Bad: It felt rushed, pacing really off, dinos are stupid in this, and transform into big muscle dinos...what? The Villain of this story isn't very interesting and honestly really boring and nothing particularly happened in this volume that made me excited.

By far the worst volume so far. I wish I could give it higher but nope. I'll still continue though because this series has it's ups and downs.

Gantz volume 12 was just ok. Still chaotic and juvenile, like a teenager’s sketchbook come to life. The violence feels like it exists purely to make you say “yep, that’s a lot of blood.” With everyone dying all the time, new characters keep popping up but never long enough to care much. The one guy who keeps surviving is an asshole, so congratulations to him, I guess. At this point I’m just reading to see how weird it can get before it collapses under its own nonsense.

Izumi gets his twisted way and it's back to World Gantz with Kurono.

And if in doubt Talking Dinosaurs and the Bumpkin Alien will shake things up.

Meh. Dinosaurs. Really? What was with the nonsense statements coming from the transformed triceratops. Yet another large breasted beauty to act as a lust object for Kei. Several of the new characters successfully battling without suits. Telekinesis to kill the aliens. So many factors that just left me annoyed at this volume. And to highlight why this manga has got so many feminists irate, this statement by Kei encapsulates the problem: "It's no place for a girl. You should wait here.", said to Reika when she was wearing a suit, and he wasn't.

This is a review of the entire series.

Synopsis: Gantz tells the story of a teenager named Kei Kurono, among others, who die but find themselves brought back in perfectly healthy bodies and forced to participate in a "game" where they must hunt down and kill aliens.

Review: I almost gave up on Gantz several times, but now that I've read it all the way to the end, I'm glad I stuck with it. The beginning is dragged down by repulsive and unlikable characters, a messily paced story, unnecessary sexualization and gratuitous violence without much substance. As it progresses, however, the character development becomes pretty incredible and the growing threat of the enemies feels truly well done. Once the real enemies are revealed, it's mind-blowing how the series had been secretly foreshadowing their arrival from the very beginning.

Although it takes a while, some really good characters are introduced later on in the series and they're the ones that made me want to read to the end. Some characters that were absolutely unbearable in the beginning became polar opposites of their original selves and even made me sympathize with them quite a bit. The protagonist Kei for example, I hated him with all my heart for the first third of the series, he became progressively more likable in the second third of the story and then he evolved into one of the most memorable, unlikely heroes I've ever seen in this storytelling medium throughout the final third. The last third of the series is unbelievably terrifying with some of the most gruesome and disgusting battle/survival scenes in the history of fiction. It's much more bearable and intense in the final third because this time the violence and horror is happening to people we actually care about instead of a bunch of unlikable nobodies.

The final third of the story is what made me feel so glad that I didn't give up on this series. It had me on the edge of my seat more times than I can recall. There are a ton of chapters but they're very short and full of action which makes the series a quick read despite having almost 400 chapters. So even though the first third of the story was kinda bad in my opinion, it doesn't last for long and the payoff that comes after it's over truly impressed me. It's a flawed, thrilling and horrifying action series that takes a while to kick off. When it finally kicks off, however, it kicks off extremely hard.

Me siento vivo.

And.... Kurono has a team (well, not yet, but it's definitely coming), a new vehicle of some sort, plus a new girl (you know what that means). Gantz finally sends them on another mission - and... it's dinosaurs this time. There's a panda too, who seems to function in the same capacity to Izumi as the dog did to Kishimoto (I don't recall what happened to the dog...). On Izumi, it's kind of dissatisfying that he's seems like he's going to get away with what he did.

As a side note, from the previous two volumes, I think the story holds up well enough, from without needing the T&A pandering, but well, probably something the author just wanted to include.

In the last edition of Gantz, Izumi began shooting people at random in an effort to return to the Gantz room. Kei began to hunt him to stop him. In this edition, a group is assembled to begin the Gantz game again with a new set of threats. The art and story remain interesting.

After a non-Black POC villain goes on a shooting spree wearing Blackface, nobody recognizes him as the murderer.
Then Hiroya Oku introduces characters that are racist stereotypes of Black people. The action is cool, continuing BS like that makes it difficult to like this manga series more.

After killing everyone, Izumi kidnaps our protagonist's girlfriend and calls our protagonist to meet him. They kill each other and enter Gantz where all the killed people were already present.

They battle with Dinosaurs! Sadly, our protagonist left his suit in the real world.

I'm actually scared for the MC, finally I have stopped hating him. However, having the pyscho-murderer with them makes me feel so umcomfortable. It seems Gantz wants to makes things harder.
