Straight-A

Rate this book
Sexy billionaire meets dysfunctional nerd.
Their heat will blow up the lab.

Bia
I’m a recipe for disaster. Broken more times than I care to count.
Smart is all I have. Grades are all I need.
Not some bossy, sinfully hot man who should come with a flammable warning label.
If only I didn’t know how his lips taste.
If only he would stop looking at me like he needs me to breathe.
If only I wasn’t that straight-A girl who fell for her teacher.

Jacob
I live a charmed life. Lonely AF though, till she sneaks in.
Green eyes flashing fire as she fights her feelings, an ass I want to bite into every time it stares at me, a brain I’m dying to get inside of…
But it's her heart that's the prize.
And I’m not used to losing.

This edition is updated to include the complete Straight-A series (Book 1 and 2).
NO cliffhangers, no cheating, and a guaranteed HEA!

Deep romance is my soul food, dirty talking (also plenty of cussing) heroes my kryptonite, and take-no-prisoners heroines my staple. I love the rush of bringing two strong characters together in a happily-ever-after. My books are sprinkled with humor, sharp wit, just enough angst to not be too much, and heart melting passion.
I spend my days cooking up steamy plots, traveling, managing a toddler who thinks he's an adult, and an adult who behaves like a toddler.

Mindblowing! Fabulous!!!

I found this book advertised on my Facebook newsfeed. I was intrigued by the synopsis.
I downloaded the book and started reading it at 11pm thinking to read a few chapters and then go to bed. I read til 1am. I had to literally force myself to stop reading as I had to get up early for school runs.
I was eager to get back to it after the school runs but household chores beckoned. I read the book every chance I got. I didn't want to put it down.
This book.contained the both books in the series.
It follows Bia and Jacob as they embark on the journey of love.
Bia is a college student and has had a bad experience few months prior and was questioning everything. She has self esteem and confidence issues.
Bia meets Jacob one day when they get stuck in an elevator. They have a sizzling encounter. she didn't see him as it was dark but only heard his voice.
This meeting brings about a change in Bia.
Bia is in shock when she meets the new chemistry professor who is the man she met in the lift.
What will she do? What will happen next?
I liked Bia and Jacob alot. Their sizzling chemistry was out of this world. Their encounters were written in a very descriptive way with regard to how it was feeling rather than what was happening.
There was twists and turns galore in the books. some of the twists you could see coming but some just came out of left field.
The sexual scenes were mindblowingly hot.
I hated Daisy and just wanted her out of the story.
I was really sad to see the book end but glad that Bia and Jacob got their happily ever after.
I want more of Bia and Jacob. Maybe write shorts with the couple as central characters.
I downloaded the book through kindle unlimited but I intend to keep it on my kindle to read over and over again.
Please please please can you write more with Bia and Jacob.
Love them both so much!!!

Loved this book! Can't wait for the second, lots of build up! Heroine wasn't always likable but it kinda worked in her favour. Hero was arrogant, sexy as hell, stalkery, delicious and every bit the alpha.

I was quickly captivated by a well told story in book 1. I didn't love the second part though. It felt too much like every other billionaire romance and it lost a little of the magic for me that had hooked me in. Overall still a good read but I was a little disappointed.

Straight up

Okay, first off I liked book one well enough to finish book 2, but I just didn’t like the characters by the end of it all and spoiler alert..............

I was happy when she left him. The drama with Daisy was so aggravating and there was so much build up about this baby I assumed it would be revealed that he wasn’t the daddy given the timeline and baby momma dramatics.... alas no such luck. Even Bia’s story line with her caregiver seemed unfinished and glossed over which I thought was a missed opportunity. I gave this book 3 stars because it made me feel all kinds of things, just minus the warm and fuzzies.

Oh God--what just hit me!!! This book has everything--Yummmmmmy alpha H, feisty/funny h, off-the-freaking-charts chemistry, and holy shit, can this author mix the dirty in romance. I love the teacher-student romance genre and FINALLY someone gets it right!!!

Seductive and steamy! I'm crying, I'm giggling, I'm fanning myself, I cannot get over how sweetly dirty this book is!! Brilliant characters, intense and funny, and the chemistry between Jacob and Bia is INSANE! I cannot wait for more from this author!!!

Great couple of books

Very good read, a little confusing at first but I loved it by the end. The characters are likable and make sure you don’t stop likening them.

70% through and I’m done.

I read Nemesis and loved it so I decided I had to read something else by Maya Rose straight away. The MC is almost unbearable by 70%. There’s been no significant character development and it’s just incredibly grating. At the start I was a little confused about what kind of character she was - she’s super smart, A’s across the board. She has a tumultuous home life but she has a s*xually liberating experience trying to shed some of her innocence and liberate herself, taking a chance since cutting herself off from people after someone betrayed her trust in the past. All these things are the perfect foundation for great character development. But no. She’s relentlessly and painfully emotionally immature, she constantly emotionally manipulates people, plays the victim and when people give in to her hysterics out of helplessness or exhaustion, she does a 180 and demands their attention. She makes no effort to help herself. Listen, I’m not saying I hate reading these characters but I have to see flashes of emotional growth and learning by the halfway point, at least. 70% is far too late and with no end in sight to her immaturity, I’m at the point where I’m so irritated with her that I’ve stopped caring about her at all. The one saving grace in this is Hunter, if you’re in the market for a j/p book boyfriend, he fits the mould perfectly. I’m just sorry for him that he has to put up with her s**t. I’ll take a few mins to flick through the rest of the book but it’s essentially a DNF.

10/10

The angst. THE. ANGST. Maya’s writing style seems repetitive in parts of this book but Lord does she deliver a good story. I loved Bia and I loved Professor Hunter (Jacob just doesn’t sound right in my head 🫣). Such a good read if you want something witty, fast-paced, and loving. No cheating. Some OW drama. But overall, the HEA was exactly right.
