"We met on the way."
"You can never make up for lost time. All you can control is where the first ends and where the second begins."
"Everything was black-and-white until you grew up and saw gray everywhere."
“I already want you too much.”
“Remember you called him my cocaine?” I asked, and she nodded. “He’s not. He’s the love of my life.”
“The harsh reality of life is that our happiness is rarely free. Someone always suffers for it.”
Everything was black- and- white until you grew up and saw gray everywhere.

If we could go back…
We will never go back.
He brought me to life.Wonderful!
We met on the way. When Bennett and Kieran meet on the express train into Seattle, they're both at such unhappy places in their lives. Kieran's living a lie and Bennett's looking for meaning in the way his life has turned out. Both are married with children.
We were two happy, unhappy families pretending to have our shit together. Everything looked great on the outside, but little digs and sideways comments spoke of issues that ran deep.In each other, they find something they're both desperately lacking.
"Life without you is just survival."I loved that the author didn't pull any punches. She hits you hard with the reality of an untenable situation, but one that was genuine and heartbreaking. My heart twisted right along with Bennett and Kieran's.
"The harsh reality of life is that our happiness is rarely free."If you're looking for a emotional read with 'real' people and 'real' problems, look no further . . . because this was good, really good.
