A ROMANTIC COMEDY OF LOVE AND DIVORCE Bayonne, Alabama, is a small town on the gulf coast. It is a harbor of fishing boats and private yachts. A tourist town whose waterfront is lined by shops and restaurants. When Jake Beauchamp returns to Bayonne, after a four-year absent he finds, his best friend, Bobby Gordon is restlessly, married and wishing that his wife would go away. When Bobby tries to enlist Jake’s aid in getting a painless divorce, the trouble begins. Jake, is a guy women love, but he’s not letting anyone get close, other than in bed. Julie Gordon is not sure who or what she wants but she made her bed and now she is willing to lie in it. Bobby’s not doing maintenance on life, including his marriage. Down at the boatyard, Laurie knows what she wants and her eyes are set on Jake. Meanwhile, from behind the bar at her restaurant, Marie Guillard, who is older and wiser rides herd over these twenty-something adolescents.
