"The perfect entry point into the steamy, show-stopping Knuckleheads MC Series..."
My name is Betty Wright - but for fifteen years, I was known as "Big Bertha" - the roughest, toughest, baddest biker bitch in history, and Queen Bee of the legendary Knuckleheads Motorcycle Club. I'd ridden a million miles or more as matriarch to America's most notorious biker gang. If my lover, Coyle, was the swinging dipstick of the Knuckleheads, I was their big, beating heart.
Together, we scooped up broken veterans, wounded warriors, and lost souls - and gave them new life and purpose as we rode the highways and byways of America's southwest. I'd loved every minute of it.
But no ride lasts forever, right?
One day, almost like waking from a dream, I realized the ride of my life was over. The Knuckleheads had disbanded, Coyle had retired, and suddenly I was back to being plain, old "Betty" - trapped in the same kind of suburban prison I'd once desperately tried to run away from.
I'd come full circle - only fifteen years older, tired and tattooed, and with nothing to show for it all except one, specific regret:
In becoming Queen Bee, I'd turned my back on the only two men who'd ever really loved me: Knuckleheads Rob "Rooker" Hagen, and Garret "Bowser" Barone.
I thought I'd lost them forever.
But sometimes, when you least expect it, you get a second chance.
When the remaining Knuckleheads come pounding on my door, begging for my help, I know this is my one, last shot at happiness. They need me to take one last ride - to save Rooker and Bowser from ruthless gunmen in the wilderness of Montana - and I'm the only girl with the stones to do it...
It might be a suicide mission - but those two men are worth it even if it is.
All my life, I've followed my head instead of my heart. Now, it's time to take one last shot at love.
After all, it might be the only thing that keeps the three of us alive.
Queen Bee is the perfect standalone introduction to the thrilling Knuckleheads MC series - exploring these steamy, show-stopping stories like never before. Featuring the feistiest female protagonist yet, some of the sexiest bad-boys in history, and a story rich with emotional intensity and explicit, underwear melting sensuality, you'll be on the edge of your seat throughout.
You'll experience delirious highs, crushing lows, and terrifying thrills as you join Betty on this wild adventure - but one eventual destination is always guaranteed: A happily-ever-after, with proof that love can overcome any roadblock.
This book was extremely helpful in understanding who and what Big Bertha is for the knuckleheads. Her story is painfully beautifully and has so many layers, twists and turns that it is impossible not to fall in despair and in love with her. Betty is my favorite character of all the knuckleheads and I am so glad for her to finally get what she is owed and deserves.
This was non-stop action from the first page to last. The characters are wonderful and I have never been as close to anyone as these people are.I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a romance with lots of heat, chemistry, suspense and heart.
That was a knucklehead ride I normally do not read these type of books but this one was different Betty's journey was told with compassion until she found her back bone found her loves but didn't know it
This is Berthas story. I always thought she was a hitch but when you read this you find out that's not who she is its what she had to be to survive. What she gave up when she left was more than just the Knuckleheads it was her heart.
Wow just wow I never read a book from the depth and detail of the heroine like this one is. The perception is so unique and such a eye opener. Get them all the knuckleheads are so worthwhile .
Love this series it has been well written with great characters and storylines with lots of action and hotness and the storylines are so different but still keep flowing from one book to the next.
Queen Bee: A Bad-Boy Military MC Romance (Knuckleheads MC - Book 9) by Simone Scarlet is an exceptionally well written MC romance. This book is my introduction to Simone Scarlet as a writer and to the world of the Knuckleheads MC. I am completely enamored with this author and her Knuckleheads. Queen Bee is the perfect introduction too, I am so glad that I gave it a try. You can be sure that I will be binge reading everything Knuckleheads MC I can get my hands on. Queen Bee was like the ultimate wild thrill ride roller coaster in the dark creating a sense of urgency, danger and suspense. It’s a fast ride with more thrills than you can prepare for; steep climbs, free fall drops, speeding through loops, unexpected slowing then 0-90 mph only to be thrown into barrel rolls that leave your head spinning. It’s all that and so much more because of the characters. Betty is just an amazingly strong women who’s all real, so very vulnerable and full of heart. She struggles with her decision, what to do next, but keeps going the best way she knows how no matter the result of those decision. As with most MC romances, this one is full of heat. It’s gritty, raw and steamy action will leave you panting, sweating, and dying of thirst as much as the danger and suspense. There’s plenty of all of that going on. But the best part, the rare, timely sweet moments that keep the characters so very real. Overall, a wonderfully well written MC Romance with just about everything a romance reader who loves MC, military, suspense and an author with a captivating story to tell including an much deserved and long over due HEA for Betty, Rooker and Bowser. I read an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
I received this book free as an ARC reader for review.
This book is broken down into three parts. The first part is written like it’s supposed to be about Betty taking charge of her own sexuality and personal power. It’s not. Betty is an emotionally damaged young woman with some serious daddy issues who gets manipulated by a physically intimidating megalomaniac until she becomes the sexual play thing for an entire band of bikers. She loses her identity as a person and becomes a sexual object. After living like this for 15 years she finally walks away from the biker gang with only the clothes on her back and marries is an Indian immigrant who is also obsessed with the mystique of the American “motorcycle club“.
I hardly made it through the first part of the book, And it almost lost me again in the second section where her husband turns out to be a drug dealer and leaves her to flee charges. Just when everything look hopeless for Betty, the motorcycle gang comes back into her life and she’s sent to rescue two of its wayward members. It’s like she’s a dog sent to fetch. But hey she’s actually in love with them so it’s OK… Even though she’s having sex with the young man accompanying her on the way… So sort of love?
Throughout the entire book, Betty is completely dehumanized. It’s lucky she survives considering nobody actually takes care of her in anything from providing a helmet to using a condom. As a fellow woman it made me angry and heartsick. I can’t imagine what her mother must’ve felt.
The two stars I gave it are because it’s fairly well written and the shootout scene in the Firehouse is imaginative and well done.
I started this series with the 3 Book Bundle and I need to take the time to get this series in a timeline since I have others I have not yet read. I read Queen Bee and I could not set it down. Right from the start this author pulled me in and the story kept a strong, action filled pace all the way through. The characters are so well developed that they became like old friend. Most of these characters have been introduced in previous stories. Betty, I felt was made so much harsher, colder and rough previously. Before I felt she was more a person of circumstance and she appeared down right mean where in this story I got a softer feel for her. Before I felt she would make a decision and felt stuck with it. In this story she seemed softer and kept justifying her choices. I actually ended up being mad for her where Coyle was concerned where before I felt more sorry for Coyle and his being stuck in a lifestyle. One thing previously Raine was suppose to be Coyle’s older brother and here I felt the term brother was more like acquaintance. I also have mixed feelings about Izzie. I really liked to flow of this story. It answered questions I didn’t even know I had until I got that aha from it. I really enjoyed this book. I will be recommending it to my friends. It just pulled together a little more of the background for me and gave me a better feel for the characters. I was given a free copy of this book and this is a voluntary review.
I loved this book, which you may find contradictory after you've read the rest of my review, but I'm being honest here.
Betty/Bertha/Queen Bee was twenty-two when her friend took her out to a biker bar, where she meet Coyle, the leader of the Knuckleheads, an outlaw biker gang made up of veterans. After spending one night in Coyle's bed, she decides she doesn't have anything to go home to, tells her friend to leave her there, and goes on the road with the Knuckleheads. She thought she understood the motto, Nobody Rides for Free, but she will eventually realize she really had no clue. Now that being said, I have to admit that I really didn't care for the Queen Bee of the Knuckleheads, I thought she was a violent, with absolutely no redeeming qualities, if you have read the first book in the series you might understand why I felt that way. After reading her story, I think I understand her a little better, what made her the way she is, and her motivations. While I'm still not sure I like Queen Bee, I mean come on Coyle told her on day one that there would never be anything other than sex between them.
This in an action packed thrill ride with lots of violence, deliciously down and dirty sex scenes, and answers a lot of questions I had about Bertha. The characters are sexy, unique, and absolutely fascinating. Fantastic book!
I was not familiar with The Knuckleheads before this book. There were a lot of gaps for me because I was coming so far into the series, and I can tell that if I knew the players, some of those gaps would have been filled in a little better. Gaps in meaning, not content - there was PLENTY of content.
Betty aka Big Bertha aka Queen Bee was the heart and soul of the Knuckleheads MC. Partnered with leader Coyle, they reigned for 15 years over a giant group of biker/military vets and lived by their own rules. One day, Betty decided to leave it all behind and isn't it the way it always goes that your past comes back to find you.
This was a colorful saga of Betty and her life. There is an HEA at the end, but I felt the HEA was missing in the book. What WAS in the book was everything else - shootouts, bedlam, lots of sex, hard living, almost rape, and lots of sex. I was certainly fascinated by the lives of the Knuckleheads and their motto: No one rides for free.
This writer has a particular style that readers will either love or not love. While I was engaged in the story itself, sometimes I would be taken out when there was mention of things like lady juices dripping down legs. In any case this was a wild, raunchy, and violent romp, just what you want to read in an MC book.
Oh boy was Betty/Big Bertha ever strong. She came into a biker bar with her longtime friend to have a little fun at the age of 22 as a blonde hair, blue eyed California girl and decided there was nothing for her at home so she was going on the road with the Knuckleheads MC. She was by Coyle’s side this whole time because he saw something in her that his club needed and that was for her heart. She listened to their stories among other things (wink, wink) For fifteen years Betty was the backbone of this MC and she finally figured she’d had enough. It was time to make a life for herself because Coyle had always told her from the very first day that he would never love her. She was to be there for the club not him.
This dirty biker read is full of everything you could want in an MC book. It was great seeing how strong Betty actually was and the road she took to get her HEA. Don’t read this if you don’t like s*x and violence because it is chocked full of it but adding so much to the storyline. I’m a definite follower of this author now.
I really want to like this author but she is the most wordy author I have read. Betty is tired of her normal life and decides she would prefer a faster life after spending one night at a bikers club. So for 15 years she becomes the club whore, their queen and whatever else Coyle thinks she should be. Of course he can do whatever he wants.
Now let’s move forward, 15 years later Bertha who is mud Betty has married an Indian guy who cone to find out was embezzling money and went back to his home country. The day Betty decides to commit auxins Coyle comes to get for help because someone is after the knuckleheads and he can’t go because he is hurt and his WIFE is pregnant. I will say this Betty was better win an than I would ever be, through this section of the book the author mentions how Betty look and gone down and you can see life whipped her butt. I thought this book was interesting because we never get a perspective from the club whore and this book did that.
This was an intense book. I’ve enjoyed The Knucklehead books so far, but this one had me on the edge of my seat and wanting to skip parts to see what was going to happen. I love how Queen Bee is so sassy, strong, and finds her confidence. My favorite so far. I was so engrossed in this book and wanting to get to the next parts that I hated when the book was done.
Queen Bee’s story about how she came to ride with the Knuckleheads is a story of a young girl trying to find her way in life and finding so much more than she expected. She not only finds a new life, but she finds a family with a bunch of men who need her in their lives too. She really doesn’t realize the effect she has had on the lives of the men riding with the Knuckleheads until she is at a point in her life where she feels she has no one or anything left.
This was a real page turner and I loved it. I give it 4-stars and recommend it to readers who like MC stories, sexy, strong, dangerous men, and one little woman who has more power than she even realizes.
ONE WILD ROLLERCOASTER RIDE!!! Hot to trot! One amazing wild ride that keeps you on the edge of your seat as everything falls into place with such perfection it leaves you craving more. All the turmoil and distress running rampant feels as though you've been put through the wringer more often than not. A tightly spinning vortex of vexing circumstances and a slew of inadvertent surprises that add a little spice to the mix. Twists and turns, along with a few bumps and bruises catapult this bad boy to life beautifully. The drama, attraction, electrifying chemistry and suspense bring this baby together flawlessly. The characters are authentic, original and realistic with depth and traits add just enough flaws to make it more interesting. The scenes are so graphic and detailed it paints a fantastic backdrop that really makes the storyline pop. Incredible job Simone, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
If you enjoy reading MC books, pick this one up. This book is a great introduction to the Knuckleheads MC but also gives it a spin and view from the Queen Bee's side. Betty or 'Big Bertha' known to most in the MC crowd, she found her purpose and love in this world. She is the center of this MC and has the biggest heart and the toughest skin to pull it all off. Fifteen years in this life and loving it, now with the Knuckleheads disbanding what is she going to do? She does not want to go back to normal. She has two past loves in her life, Rooker and Bowser, that appear to have gotten themselves into some trouble and need assistance getting out. Does she go with her head or her heart? She is in at all heart. This is a great story from the first to the last page. It has great twists and turns and of course, amazing characters that will surprise you along the way. I have read the Knucklehead series from the beginning and loved the whole series and highly recommend it. Enjoy!
Customer Review By Sewsummore 5.0 out of 5 starsBertha's Story! July 31, 2019 Format: Kindle Edition Queen Bee was a hard loving, mean fighting biker woman with a heart of gold. She was the heart of the Knucklehead MC Club, the glue that held the club together. For fifteen years she stood by it's leader's side until she knew it was time to leave and find a life of her own. However, when the men she loved needed her she was there to fight by their side once again. The story of Bertha (Queen Bee) needed to be written, she was loved by them all. I never realized how important she was to the club or the role she played until I read this book. This book had all the sex, drama and difficult situations I have come to expect from this series and a most satisfying conclusion. I received a free ARC copy of this book and have voluntarily read and honestly reviewed this book.
Excellent and exciting romantic suspense motorcycle club story. I’ve had the pleasure of reading some of the other books in this series and this one is just as awesome. Betty aka Bertha was rough and tough when she was the “mother” to all the guys. She started young and made her decision with her head. Now she wants to save two of the Nuckleheads that are in trouble. Bowser and Rooker need help. She’s always cared for them and Bowser and Rooker feel the same but they may not make it out alive. There’s drama, suspense, intrigue and violence due to the military/MC style book but it’s an exciting ride. I received a complementary copy of this book via Hidden Gems and chose to write a review. (I also purchased this book)
I have read all the Knucklehead Books and "thought" I knew the story of "Big Bertha" or Betty but boy was I wrong! Her story if told with flash backs from her past interspersed with present day action. And when I say action, not only am I talking about her legendary days when she was the Matriarch of the Knuckleheads for over 15 years but in the present day action. It just shows that you may take the Queen Bee out of the Knucklehead Motor Cycle Club but once a Knucklehead, always a Knuckelhead. There is plenty of nail biting action as well as some hot and heavy sex scenes that Simone Scarlet is so famous for writing. If you love all things Knucklehead then this is definitely one to add to your own private collection to read again and again and again.
What a ride! I love reading MC stories, but this one is like no other I have ever read. I loved Betty's (Bertha/Queen Bee) story, from being lost after having a miscarriage and her boyfriend stepping away from her to discovering things about herself that she never would have dreamed possible at the beginning of the story. Each part of this story brought out a different type of suspense that kept you wondering what was coming next. I look forward to reading more of this author's books in the future. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
What an exciting, dramatic, intriguing and emotional read. To have a life as a bad biker and then all of a sudden back to a regular life. What a shocking change. And then to regret having to leave behind the only two men who have ever loved you. What a roller coaster ride. Now they are back to save those two you are in love with and need you. It has everything that keeps you on the edge of your seat reading. I highly recommend it. I received a review copy from hidden gems and voluntarily review it.
Oh sooo sizzling hot.......So this was a free ARC Copy from the author for my voluntary honest review , and I have to say I really loved this book it's a great sizzling hot read.I really love reading for this author because I know its going to be a great sizzling hot read every time.I couldn't put it down once I started reading it. Has a great storyline and great characters to read about.Plus it's sizzling hot to boot.Plus I love this series to.Have fun reading
This is the icing on the cake of an awesome series! I was not prepared to love this as much as I did! Betty/Big Bertha's story had to be told, and I'm so glad I gave it a chance. Emotional, action packed, surprises, steamy enough to vaporize anything nearby! Bee has been through so much and still came out on the other side a strong resilient character I enjoyed getting to know more about! Kudos!
WOW! This is my first Simone Scarlet book. I wasn't sure about reading it but once I started I could not put it down. Betty is trying to fit in somewhere and decides to follow the Knucklehead Motorcycle Gang. She discovers she is stronger than she thought and goes on a journey of self-discovery, lust, bonding, and kick-ass action. I was pleasantly surprised and in awe of Betty and her Knuckleheads.
Whoa! I love MC romances and this is my first by this author. However, it will not be my last. I know it's a prequel to the series and others indicated it gives them a good notion as to why Betty was the way she was but I like that I read this one first because it gives me a good sense of what's to come. It's thrilling, sexy, exciting, suspenseful and all around great!
Did I read the same book as other reviewers who gave this 5 stars? Was sluggish and slow and so much incredulity at some of the storyline. So sorry folks and maybe this was a teen book, although it did hinge on 4Oyear old Betty therefore you’d gave thought as an older chick myself I’d have liked it.
I had to do a mental makeover of Bertha, Bowser and Rooker to undo my previous images of these three, but once I did...oh my. They really light up the page in this installment of the Knuckleheads saga. Yes, I said saga. Series just doesn't do justice to the world that Scarlet has created with these wonderful characters. A must read!
