A great ending to a very good series. I think I was a bit too hard on issues 2. Thin one definitely made up for the lack of action and the final reveal was not actually till this issue. A great Batman story loved the final battle and the mythos behind it. A great final issue.

If this is Snyder and Capullo’s last Batman story, they went out with a bang. This had everything that made their New 52 run so much fun, complete with the splash-page twists and turns. Can’t wait to get the trade.

I’m struggling to find the words for how stunningly well Snyder and Capullo wove together the threads of every tale upon which they have collaborated. The story is profoundly bleak and gloriously hopeful; both epic and intimate; and both beautiful and, at times, difficult to watch. Continuing that theme of duality, I found myself devastated and celebratory by the time I finished the final panel on the final page. What a triumph.

I took a lot of time between #2 and this one, and all that time for that... well I'm disappointed. This seem like a lot of melting pots put together to make it look weird but it only look nothing for me. I will try number #4 but that might well be the last one. Big deception!

Wow. I’m not even sure what to say. Issue #1 seemed to be a great start to a great limited series but it simply did not reach a well rounded or intriguing story. Like Issue #2, things just sort of happen with no logical reason. It all culminates in a highly unsatisfying ending that leaves an awfully bitter taste in your mouth. Weak writing and unrealistic dialogue severely limit what could have been an interesting dystopian epic. Very forgettable.

I’m conflicted, but it’s mostly very good. I have some story issues, but the art, pacing and dialogue are all top notch. I will err on the side of positivity.

And I hope this isn’t actually the very last Snyder-Capullo Bat title, because they are a dynamic duo and almost single-handedly got me back into comics with the Owls saga. But if this is their last go, it’s a hell of a way to go out.

Good

A good read though it can be confusing with a first reading [still is even a second] but worth it for a reading distraction if you've nothing else to do at that moment!

I've said this before, and I'll say it again...Snyder is great at ideas, but struggles to put them together into a coherent story. Combine that with the messy nature of the art, and it makes for a muddled final issue of a confusing and disappointing series

¿Qué no me gustó?

This was probably my favourite issue of the three but still it was much more lacklustre than I was hoping it would be. It’s more like a 2.5 star all up.

Even though it’s technically true that it’s Batman’s last story, having it from the perspective of a fucking cline is dog shit and the story basically sucked. I can’t believe this dude wrote the 52 run. It’s just weird how much his quality of writing has dropped. Maybe because he’s doing so much other stuff for DC.

I was almost disappointed in the ending? Though I’m glad everyone survived ultimately, and the end made me smile. I also enjoyed Bruce describing what they did to him...how he came back from that, damn. But overall, it felt like too much crammed into the last book and it was a bit of a let down because of that. I think the series could have been 4 books and it would have been more solid.

Yeah that was amazing. Wow this was an incredible story. I love comics and I love an alternative universe especially when they take some cool risks. The Joker through out the whole story was so funny and all of the other characters were great! The villain of the story wasn't too big of a surprise but overall a great Batman story. Glad I saved it to be able to read it all at one time.

A good amount of talent was invested in the telling of this story. While a few moments felt bumpy it was enjoyable. The little twists and turns felt appropriate and it was fun to see this timeline through.

Although the artwork is rather decent, if a little scratchy, and the writing seems fine, the whole plot is just too far out for me. I can't say I understood it properly (can anyone?) and I really wanted to like this. I just couldn't. 3.25/5

"Gotham is a lie. But it won't be anymore."

Snyder taking the most insane swings in his Batman stories won't ever grow old to me. And at the end of the day.... Selina still helps Bruce.

BatCat for life.

By the time it took this issue to come out, I've lost my interest and even if this wasn't the case nothing amazing happened. The big villain was OG Bruce Wayne. Who would have thought?

Art

The art was a particularly great piece. I loved the shadowing and styling. The story was strong and flowed well.

Great series, amazing art and story, by the even greater duo of Snyder/Capullo

I will always read their stories with admiration, greatness and hope!

To another great story!

I didn't get the ending. But the whole story was pretty far fetched. Classic Capullo art though.

The third act of this story improved over the first two. Diana's new hairstyle looks kinda weird but dope at the same time? Here's to Joker Robin! In general, the story was pretty fun.
