Thirty-five-year-old rancher Jarod Beck sacrificed his rodeo dreams to run the family ranch. Now he’s on track to restart his life building a training business and starting a family. The new teacher in town interests him, but she is intent on keeping her independence and following her own path. Can they each give enough to find something better than their solitary lives?

The oldest son in a small town Montana family, Jarod had dreams of becoming a champion rodeo calf roper and had the high school level buckles to prove it. But his father’s death on a lonely Montana highway and his mother’s passing a year later forced him to step up and learn to run the ranch that had been in the family since the 1800s. The time has come to restart his own life by opening a business to train horses and riders to compete in the arena.

Samantha Deveaux fought free of a past of teenage drug use, only to become pregnant. When her boyfriend dumped her, she enlisted her mother’s help to care for her Asperger’s daughter so she could secure her college degree and teaching license. Determined to succeed at her first job in Choteau, her plans don’t include settling down in a small town forever. She has two goals: give her daughter the best opportunities she can and keep her ex out of their lives.

Finding Home is a story about of a young woman who must learn to have faith in people again, and a young man who needs to find a way to help her without stifling her independence. If you enjoy women’s fiction with romantic elements, you’ll enjoy this book.

Religious

Samantha was very traumatised and toxic. I could barely stand her and Jacob deserved so much better, everyone in her life did. It was too Christian toxic for me and I struggled not abandoning the book. I won't be reading anymore of the series.

Another winner by Casey Dawes

I truly enjoyed Finding Home. Dawes has a way of making the characters seem like family or friends. I find myself thinking of them long after I've finished the story. The issues they deal with are real, and there are no sappy "happily ever afters". Dawes' stories are believable and leave readers with an upbeat feeling. Also , there is enough mystery to leave me wondering what will happen with the next member of the family. I'd add the last star if there was more intimacy!

Finding Home is book 2 in the Rocky Mountain Front series, but can be read as a standalone. Samantha is a single mom to a daughter with Aspergers. She lives her life running from relationships and is afraid of being hurt. Her trust issues don't seem to be a problem until she meets the handsome Jarod. Although he has issues from his past as well, he wants to take a chance with Samantha. Can these two people find their way together to make a family for Audie or will the past keep them apart? This author spins a wonderful tale about forgiveness and second chances. The plot is true to many lives and kept my attention right from the start. The characters are developed and somewhat mysterious as each has their own past secrets. The interactions with Audie warmed my heart and had me pulling for her to have the life she wanted, but only time will tell. Even with all this going on there is a mystery that happens throughout the story that peeked my interests. While this is the first I have read from this talented author, it will not be the last. I can't wait to go back and read book 1 while waiting for the next book in the series. Overall I loved this story and highly recommend this book for a great 5 star read! I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book.

A beautiful journey of growth and love. Samantha does everything for her daughter, Audie. She is working very hard to build a life for them even though her pregnancy was unexpected. She does carry a lot of fear that she copes with by being fiercely independent to ensure she doesn't get attached. When she moves to Choteau to take a teaching position, she never expects to find a community that opens it arms and embraces her. This is very foreign to her. Jarod is stalwart, working the family ranch while dreaming of building a business to train rodeo horses. His chance encounter with Audie and Samantha suddenly has him offering to teach Audie to ride. For Jarod, he is surprised by the connection to the little girl and his attraction to Samantha. Jarod isn't looking for a relationship but finds himself wanting to spend more time with Samantha. Both of these people have past hurts that they need to deal with before they can embrace a new future. I loved the connections that are made throughout this story not just with Samantha and Jarod but how wonderful the community is represented. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Love in a small town.
I loved Samantha and Audie they are great characters. In this story they move why Samantha felt she had to is answered in the story. They meet Jarod a hard-working rancher who has dreams of training horses. Along the way, you will meet Cassandra Sanders a rather spoiled character and a lawyer. It is a lovely story with Jarod and Samantha coming together and it is written with so much heart. I highly recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
