Barnacle Busters: Keeping Your Church Seaworthy

Rate this book
Is your church dying? Does your church experience conflict? Dying churches and churches in conflict become like ships at sea encrusted with barnacles. They sail with difficulty and the voyage is compromised. Barnacle Busters, the book, uses this analogy to teach about recognizing, overcoming, and avoiding church conflict and/or non-biblical practices. It explains the whys and wherefores of church conflict and gives a rationale for being proactive in practicing biblically based worship and practice. As a bonus, it comes with Case Studies after each chapter including suggested discussion questions for group study. The questions are simply suggestions to get the discussion started. Don't think you have to cover every question if the discussion takes on a life of its own. Be that as it may, these case studies and questions are critical to the process of producing the awareness that a church to needs to face the facts. Until a body of believers faces its weaknesses and sins, it will never change for the good. Use a bi-weekly study of this book to give adequate time for participants to read each chapter and answer to questions. At some time during the process, the author suggests starting a group prayer meeting on the week falling between the chapter studies. Without group praying, no church can reach a point of repentance and spiritual power to enable holiness and change.May God grant that every Christian have a healthy, vital church for the glory of Jesus Christ.
