Lil's daughter, Georgiann, has taken a new job as director of a visitor's bureau and the first task is to organize the Lights and Luminaries Festival held in December. It's the season of good will and Max and Lil come to visit, expecting a warm and pleasan experience. But when the Mystery Sisters are around, it can be anything but!
Love this series! Max and Lil may argue about everything, but they work well together when solving mysteries. Soon they won't be invited to visit any relatives because catastrophic events occur. At least they dig in to help, much to the chagrin of local authorities. I can't wait to read anything in this series, and I recommend this book highly. You don't need to read each episode n order, just get started.
I really enjoy the adventures of Lil and Max! There never seems to be a dull moment when the two of them are in town! Their daughter/niece Georgiann, aka George, is newly hired as the parks and service director for a small town with her first assignment being the organizing and fulfillment of the Christmas celebration. Between the arson, costume theft and unexpected fireworks she has her hands full and her new job is on the line! Assistance comes from Lil and Max! No one stands a chance of out maneuvering them! It's a very short story and a good read! Enjoy!!
I loved this story. It may be a novella but it had plenty of humor and mystery and was just delightful! I needed a pick-me-up and this more than filled the bill! I would tell everyone to read it! It's the tale of two elderly women with plenty of spunk one is the mother the other the aunt to a young woman who is assisting a small town in gaining out of town visitors by helping to create a small in town Bed and breakfast and come up with ways to attract tourism. What she hadn't counted on was vandalism and arson by someone wanting to buy property on the Riverwalk or that someone could try to ruin the holiday festivities and make Santa look bad. Trust these elderly ladies to save the day! Enjoy!
I’m really impressed with how much the author fit into this book. I know it was shorter than the others, but she packed so much into it that it felt like a full-length addition to the series. It suited the often frenetic pace of the holiday season and that may have helped present that impression. I did find it very unrealistic that Georgiann’s job would be on the line for things she obviously couldn’t have predicted. If it’s necessary for the story then you need to find a way to make it work, and that didn’t work. Neither did setting a fire to scare off a buyer for a building that you want to use. There is no way to guarantee the building wouldn’t be a total loss, and she made it fairly clear in the story that it was the building they desired.
This is the 3rd story in this series I have read . The stories are clean, nothing objectionable, no adult language. This story is set at Christmas time and Max and Lil, the sisters, are visiting Lily's daughter who is the director in charge of the winter festivals. The the mystery begins with a series of mishaps and of course, the sisters are in the thick of things. The reason for the 4 vs. 5 stars was for a need for editing. I had to re-read so sentences several times due to missing preposition and other errors. Other wise, I did enjoy this cute short story.
Georgiann landed a job in a small Missouri town planning a winter festival. She invited her mother Lil and her aunt Max both in their seventies to come for a visit.
When several vandalism acts and an arson fire occur Lil and Max put their sleuth caps on. They are afraid if the vandalism goes on the festival will be ruined and Georgiann will lose her job.
Sit down and start reading, you might get to catch a seventy year old lady driving a snowblower chasing a bad guy in Santa’s sleigh down Main Street.
Cute mystery. Lil and Max travel to visit Georgiann, Lil's daughter & Max's niece, during the Christmas season. "George" has a new job but things start to go wrong at the town's annual Christmas festival. Who is behind the problems? With the help of her mom & aunt, can they save the town's festival & Georgiann's job?
This is a cute short story about a mystery and the holidays. Max and Lil are retiired and sisters thst like to take trips together. This time they are visiting Lil's daughter at her new job. Then mysterious things started going wrong. Max and Lil started to wonder who could be causing these things to happen.
Georgina has a new job as an event planner for Christmas in a small town. Her mother and her aunt join her and even help out at the festivities. They didn't count on a mysterious fire right next to the city hall and the bed and breakfast. The mother-aunt duo set to work to investigate and they save the day. An interesting Christmas tale. Loved all the holiday activities that Georgina planned.
Max and Lil omg I love these two seventy something year young sisters , they always stick their nose into situations and get answers no one else gets. They're so full of life , these two !!! This cozy ready was just as great as the other three I hope the author continues the series because it's really a great read for anyone.
I'm a big fan of this author, but this one just didn't do it for me. I couldn't get interested enough in it to finish as quick as I normally would. The story in general was fine, I just didn't find it to be as upbeat and maybe as fast-paced as some of her other stories. Next on my list is Reunion and Revenge, to give the Mystery Sisters another shot.
Seventy something sisters travel to Missouri to spend some quality time with Lil's daughter who is in charge of the town's Christmas celebration. But, it is one thing after another throwing a damper on the festivities.
Who would do such a thing? Is there more than one? Why? The sisters, Max and Lil, set out to find out.
Elder sisters who are amateur sleuths make a mystery delightful. Enjoyed Max and Lil and the family and town. You just never know what is happening next or whom is mischief making.
What a fun cozy mystery, Bells and Blazes! I enjoyed reading this one and didn't want to put it down. I like the shorter books that way I find out the ending sooner! This one has fun characters, villains and snowy weather. Thanks for an awesome read!
Max and Lil are so adorable. I love this series. They are so full of life in spite of their old age. They are young at heart with a penchant to get involved in mysteries and solve them. Brilliant.
Adorable short novel about a town with great characters, a villian or two, X-mas coming and a week of festivities, plus two old ladies who sleuth their way to the villains. Easy, fun read.
This is my first time reading a Mystery Sisters book. I enjoyed it and will be purchasing more. The characters, especially the sisters Max and Lil, are great.
This is the second book in this series I've read. Max and Lil are lovable and very capable sleuths. The mysteries are great who dun its and keep you in suspense to the end. I highly recommend this series.
