I am fairly new to this author, but I have loved everything I’ve read so far including this third book in the Wardbreaker series. Izzy is such a delight, and I admit that I didn’t like Axel at first, but he’s really grown on me. I love how Izzy and friends are just a great team, and they seem to be able to do just about anything. And, I really, really want to know more about Becket! This book is jam-packed with action, and the end was like “whoa!” This series never leads you were you expect, and you love the journey there. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series! Highly recommend! I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Putting the FUN in dysfunctional. Nothing in Izzy’s life has ever been easy. Why should this be any different? Keeping her ragtag troupe of misfits all pulling in the same direction often feels like herding cats. Pointless? Thankless? Impossible? All of the above? Some days. Now that she’s broken the wards to free the Drowned Queen’s scroll, Izzy just needs to be able to read it. A feat that’s going to take the collective skills, wit, and luck of their entire gang. This story held me in thrall. I couldn’t read it fast enough to find out what would happen next. And what happened means I’m dying to get my hands on the next book in this series. I’ve said it before, and I’m sure I’ll be saying it again and again with this author’s amazing work: "Nooooooo!!!!!!" she wails into the night like a dying banshee. “You can’t leave me there.”
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.

The Wardbreaker series is turning out to be very entertaining. I am a newer fan of Katerina and she has not failed to transport me to a different world each time. I really enjoy her writing style and how she writes her characters.

In Crown Of The Queen, Izzy is back. They have alot going on. We have some reveals, lots of challenges, and my favorite thing to read in books, banter. Finally something else happens as well, it does involve Axel!! I was looking forward to this.

The characters and their dynamic is what makes this series so fun I think. Their personalities and abilities and banter just make this series for me. I love the main leads, but all of them together just is entertaining.

So if you like a good action series with witty fun characters, a great plot, nice pace and just a really good read. Found the series for you!!

Crown of the Queen continues Katerina Martinez's Wardbreak series. This is book three in the series and the author picks up where book two left off with Izzy and her friends/team trying to figure out what is on the Drowned Queen's secret scroll that they stole. Things are quiet right now, but they won't remain so. The time has come to step up and either find someone who has Aetherglass or someone who can make it for them because regardless of what path you take...finding it or having someone make it...it won't be easy.
Crown of the Queen, overall, is a good addition to the series. The author fills the book with some pretty tense situations as you wonder what will happen? Will they find what they are looking for? How will they get out of this particular situation? And...the heated question of...WHEN will the heated temptation between Izzy and Axle finally be too much for them to resist? The storyline focuses mostly on Izzy, but I'm really wanting to know more about Becket. He's treated more or less like a nonessential character unless it's for certain situations, but there is more to him than meets the eye and I'd love to delve deeper into it.
I enjoyed this book, but there are some elements of it that I found to be rather disappointing. When Izzy crosses paths with someone that she thought that she would never see again I become disappointed in her. I understand her issues, and I understand to an extent why the author would include it in the book (to make the character more realistic), I still find Izzy's behavior childish. I can honestly relate to her concerning her emotions, but it was not the time nor the place for any of it. Another issue I had with this book is when Izzy has an issue with the person she is copying. What was the reasoning for pointing out the "insufficiencies" for that person when in the end they were by no means of use to the storyline? It played no part, so I felt that it was truly irrelevant to even be mentioned unless it would have been helpful in some sort. I also feel like the author played up Danvers "problem" as it turned out to be pretty anti-climactic. I was lead to believe that there would be danger in connection to her situation, but that was settled within two pages. So...was there really any TRUE danger to speak of? Without the intervention of a certain character...probably, but with the intervention of that character...the situation is diffused too quickly. The last complaint I have...the connection to the title...it doesn't come until the VERY end. I like for a book title connection to at the latest be made before or around the middle of the book.
All in all, I am rating this book 4 out of 5 stars. The book overall is a good addition to the series, but I felt that there were pieces and parts that either could have been added to elevate the story more or that certain parts could have been removed as they really didn't add to the storyline but ended up taking away from it. If you enjoyed the first two in this series then I encourage you to pick this book up as it does hold some truly thrilling information and a couple of surprises.

Katerina Martinez continues Izzy’s saga by further exploring her magical world and having Izzy revisit her past. The tension between Axel and Izzy is finally explored, but was a bit lackluster from what I had expected. I was a bit disappointed that we, readers, were left with another cliff-hanger in this story. I had thought that this was going to be the final installment in the Wardbreaker series, but is not. There will be at least a fourth book.

The magical prison, Harrowgate, was supposed to be very hard to break into and have a lot of security. While it did take Izzy and her team a while to figure out how to get in, it was not as nerve wracking and intense as I was expecting. I was also surprised by several characters near the end of the story. One of them I had forgotten about and the other surprised me with their true alliance.

I enjoy Katerina Martinez’s writing style and the world she has created, but this installment in the Wardbreaker series felt a bit off from the other two. It was not as adventurous as the previous two stories and really only seemed to focus on the prison break, which led to me to feel like it was more of a short story in Izzy’s journey.

Excitement, humor, and surprises abound in this next book in the Wardbreaker series. Izzy and the gang are back with bigger challenges, some shocking reveals, witty squabbles, funny banter, and sexy time (finally between her and Axel)! The uniqueness of this ragtag group of people is one of the things that make this story great. They all bring their own gifts and strengths to the team and it is fun to watch them all try to balance their personalities and abilities to get the job done…and poor Izzy, as their leader, she has to police them all – but she does a great job of bringing them all together to complete their mission. I have enjoyed watching them each grow throughout the series personally and then blending into a family unit as well. I was really glad to see that Izzy and Axel finally get their time together and I hope their developing relationship grows even stronger in the next book. This is definitely a series you need to read in order to understand what is going on. And the ending, just wow! I cannot wait to see where that twist takes Izzy and the gang in the final book. Well done from start to finish!

I love it when an author gets the mix of characters right so that they bounce off of each other and the banter makes you smile, This book completes a brilliant trilogy where several loner misfits gradually come together to form a very tight loving family all be it a little dysfunctional. Izzy and Kasim's bickering is brilliant as is the chemistry between Axel & Izzy.
With some authors you feel deflated when you get further along in a series as it becomes predictable or loses some of the spark that captured you in the first place but Katerina has a gift for keeping your interest whilst stoking up your imagination. Throw into the mix a wonderful action packed storey full of mystery and intrigue with lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing and you have a really wonderful Book!!!!

Spoiler Free Review:
Book 3 in the series of our Wardbreaker Izzy and her friends does not disappoint. Another wonderful and exciting read that makes you forget about the outside world and get submerged (pun intended) in this world of magic, demons, Elemancers, close calls and love interests that keep you glued to the book until the very last page. I enjoyed that we get to see each characters evolve: their personalities, quirks and strengths and how they all come together. This does not mean that it's a smooth ride at all, so hold on to something. Be ready with a fan too as there are some steamy moments (wink-wink).

Ok what an ending!

Well then! What a lead up there! The first two books, not really a cliffhanger at the end but this one, well that lead off was definitely more of a cliffhanger. Thankfully I don’t have to wait as the next book is already out! This was a stellar book, I love Katerina’s writing. Each book draws you in and keeps you want to continue reading! They are so enjoyable and I love Danvers and Karin. The way the two are constantly picking at each other is hilarious. I wish I knew more of Danver’s story. She is an interesting character.

Good Continuation to a Good Series

Crown of the Queen is a good continuation of the story of Izzy and Axel’s quest to discover the location of the drowned queen. There are exciting scenes where our heroes go up against overwhelming forces and must think how to save themselves. The book is very good and worth reading. It is an easy read.

The 3rd book in the Wardbreaker series was amazing. I loved seeing the group of misfits (friends) come together and accomplish what no one would ever think of. I also loved reading about Izzy and Axels relationship going next level after all of the hiccups.

The ending was a bit of a cliffhanger and now I cannot wait for the next book!! I highly recommend this series.

I absolutely loved this book. I've read the entire series so far, and love that the books are fast-moving. In this book, Izzy & Axel break INTO prison. I loved it! There was also a bit of steaminess, if that's your thing. There were plot twists I didn't see coming, and the characters only get more intriguing with each book. I just can't wait for book 4 to be released. Definitely worth the read!

Absolutely stunning

The series reads like a great treasure hunt played out between death matches between supernatural beings on a countdown clock to a nuclear bomb explosion. Katerina Martinez is as masterful at the choreography of each fight scene as she is at detailing the sights and smells of the scenes. All of her series are true bliss to read!

Fast paced

I enjoyed this third book in the series. Not that Izabella is a full fledged Mage she didnt even have to use her special heartbreaking ability. It was interesting to see the team growing as well as being introduced to Izzy's father. The end left me very interested in what happens next!
