This delightful love story is set in the academic city of Oxford where Ben, early thirties, slightly balding and marginally overweight owner of the dusty second hand bookshop 'Bookends' is in something of an emotional void following the break up of his marriage to Avril, their only apparent remaining connection being their eight year old daughter, Aimee.
As chance would have it Ben has employed dark curly haired and exceptionally attractive Corinne as his 'Saturday Girl'. Charming though Corinne is, she also knows how her looks and manner can disarm men completely. This is particularly true of Ben who dissolves when she so much as smiles at him. Corinne knows this, Ben knows this so the scene is set for a stylish romantic comedy.
The romance begins when the ceiling of Corinne's rented flat collapses and in desperation she calls Ben to see if she can stay with him. When Ben composes himself he is delighted and over time their relationship develops and they become lovers and she moves in with him, making herself quite a hit with Aimee in the process.
As might be imagined, this does not go down too well with Avril who plots her revenge, seducing a semi-drunken Ben one night. Unable to keep this to himself he confesses to the mush distressed Corinne who promptly leaves. So, Ben is upset, Corinne is upset and little Aimee is upset! Even Avril is upset.
But this is not the way romantic comedies are supposed to end …......... first take a 'Look Inside' then buy a copy of this charmingly innocent romantic comedy to find out exactly what does happen.
