Supers Rise Up is a fun, action packed futuristic superhero romp with a clever hero. I had a blast reading it!

Contains some pretty violent stuff.

I received a complimentary advance copy of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.

I made it to the end but when I got there I was disappointed. It sort of settled on me that somehow the characters didn't feel right. I honestly can't even explain why really. The best I can pull from my impressions and feelings is.. Its like for each of the more prominent characters there was a list of features that could have made a fully realized character. But somehow they didn't come together right. Or maybe they werent expressed fully? Just mentioned throughout the book but never really showing through in actions? I don't know. Just dissatisfied.

But thats just me. Its a supers story. Here and there was a scare that it might turn into a litrpg but it never did in my opinion. Which is a major plus in its favor. The world building felt a little hollow but that is far better then filling that hollow with game mechanics that make NO sense and pull you farther out of the story without the benefit of you know... providing you an actual game to play.

A cool take on superheros

I really enjoyed this book. The reason I only gave it 4 stars instead of five is that I found some of the explanations to be a bit simplistic. Overall though it was a very fun and fresh take on the superhero story. Can't wait for the next book!

Supers Rise Up is an excellent superhero sci-fi novel that is action-packed, loads of fun, and told at a breakneck pace. The author does an excellent job of getting you attached to the characters and building the world really quickly, and it's not long before you're seriously invested as a reader.

I won't say much more as I'm excited to get started on the next one. So in short, I loved this book and I highly recommend it to fans of superheroes, sci-fi, adventure and action.

DNF around halfway through I couldn't take it anymore it was just so emotionless. It wasn't written badly but there was no urgency no real forward drive it was all just meh kinda boring. The characters felt like they wheren't even halfway developed. There was potential buried in this book. However the author failed to really make anything all that interesting.

Plot felt insubstantial and very much like the main character was being led from plot point to plot point, the characters overall feel one-note and two dimensional in such a way as they can be summed up in a two or three word phase.

Ex-Military Popular Hero
Naive rich girl
Faux Affable Villain
Wide Eyed Sidekick

Its fine?

Its borderline average on the low end.

The story got off to a somewhat slow start but about half way thru it started to pick up and the threads started to come together. I liked Corbin and Seena the two MC's and will be interested to see how the storyline evolves.

Decent

It was okay. Like the original super powers. Execution was a little lacking. A bit wordy. Took a longer than than necessary to get to the point.

Rise up

A fun read, will be starting book 2 soon. An interesting way to see supers and normal people react to each other.

A really good super hero origin story

Well written action adventure with evil bad guys and henchmen with super powers. On a planet in a galaxy far away we have a company investigating metal deposits that seem to have a mysterious power, the MC discovers a mysterious liquid deposit and mayhem ensues. This was a gripping tale that was hard to put down as I always wanted to know what happens next. Not a very long book so its a quick read. Luckily book 2 has been released..... Next!

It has been a long time since someone finally wrote a book that took a protagonist through growth. Both mental and physical. This was a beautiful read and I really wanted to read more once I finished. I hardly ever give out 5 stars. When I do it's because, in my opinion, it is that good. I really enjoyed this book and hope there will be more in the future.

New twist on supers and powers

Fun And engaging first book in a new super series. Seems to have some cultivation bound in. I find the main character to be a good and moral person and like the MCs approach to life. This has the hallmarks of a long series of played right and lots of powered fun. Looking forward to second book.

Sophomoric tale written by someone who doesn't know that you enter the military (as an officer) as a second lieutenant and progress to a first lieutenant, and not the other way around. It was entertaining, had a lot of good ideas, and was told in a well planned manner. Not a great book, but an entertaining YA tale.

A great series starter

I just finished and I'm already looking forward to reading more in this series. A great MC who is a genuinely good person and when given amazing power uses it to help others, that combined with a truly engaging storyline made this a page turning read.

Interesting first

First in a series, first superhero book I’ve read. Interesting premise and characters. A bit of Taoism seems to be part of this one. Curious as to how the whole metal thing is going to shake out. I’ll definitely read the next one.

A stickman of a story.

Pleasant, but simplistic and 2D. You could read it if you were really at a loss, but you’d be consciously aware of the basic nature of it. You’d forget it almost before you put it down.

did B1 a few months ago & rated it 3*.
Then B2 was on deep discount so picked it up & thinking plot of 1 would come back to me i didnt redo. There was no recap on B2 & it was no plot all pew-pew so hated it... therefore downgrading this B1 & take above for what its worth.

Good stuff

I wasn't sure what the series was about, so I took a risk . It paid off in spades, I really loved this book, and will read rest in series.

Almost ...

The storyline stops, but the story hasn’t ended and there was no resolution for any of the story threads. Not at all what I expected.
