Part Cactus Flower. Part Rattlesnake. All Trouble.
Growing up in the harsh environment of Hell, Texas, you quickly learn a few things about survival: never reveal how much money you have; never show your hand too early; and never, ever trust anyone, not even family. Blood may be thicker than water, but it’s not water that comes out when you’ve been stabbed in the back.
Three fiery females, collectively known as the Hell’s Belles, knew it was time to leave when Hell started getting too hot for their comfort. Hearing about a cozy little town called Two Moon, they decide to see if the rumors about monsters hiding in the mountains and people flying through the air were true. Who knows, they might even raise a little Hell of their own.
This isn't my favorite book by this author. Its still good. The first couple chapters had me wondering if I wanted to continue. That grandfather was a horrible man. Once the girls got to He'll the story really picked up. I'm just not a fan how of it left a lot of loose ends in the end.
I loved reading how these women came to be outlaws. How they were treated as children may have had a little to do with it. However, they were tutored by their uncle and became very good at covering their tracks. If you like westerns you should read this book.
For Pete's sake, it's not hard - have a plot and conclude it. Then we'll be happy to buy the next one because we like the characters not because we need to finish the story. I don't know why I was surprised the tale seriously lacked a plot and was carried by the cousins themselves. It was a pleasant enough meander but I will not be buying any more. I want a book not an episode.
Sarsaparilla! A light little yarn about three outlaws in Hell, Texas. These women don’t just buck societal norms by wearing pants...they also strap on pistols and enthusiastically engage in criminal hijinks. From a treehouse hideout, to robbing trains with aplomb...it was fun to join Hell’s Belles.
