Roselyn Bell led a normal teenage life until her mother's new husband thrust her into a world where money was never-ending. She went from Suburbia to the mansions of Sands Cove, and she knew her rainbow-colored hair, loud makeup, nose ring, and grunge-style clothing were not going to fit in. With her mom traveling with her new husband, a stepbrother who hated her, and not one loyal friend in sight, along with the money came a loneliness Roselyn never expected. Well, that is, until she meets the princes of Sands Cove and her life takes a dramatic turn.
Liam McCellan had a life where everything was handed to you on a silver platter; money, cars, drugs, girls...you name it, he could get it. He was more than just one of the One-Percent that inhabited the wealthy community of Sands Cove; he was one of the untouchables. Like most of the kids in Sands Cove, Liam answered to no one and he feared nothing. Then, one night, he's forced to take matters into his own hands, but he's not prepared for the impact Roselyn Bell ends up having on his life. The rules changed, and too bad for Roselyn, Liam doesn't care if she wants to play or not.
While Roselyn is struggling with going from a nobody to running with the wolves of Sands Cove, Liam is planning to do everything he can to make sure Roselyn understands exactly where her place is; and it's with the wolves.
Warning: While this story contains a HEA, it is a dark romance, bully read. It contains triggers and can be offensive to some readers. Please do not purchase if sensitive to such materials.
There's not much to add to my bio, I'm pretty boring...LOL. My favorite thing is to read and, last year, I decided to trade in some of those reading hours and try my hand at writing. The experience has been one of the best things I could have ever embarked upon. It's turned into a hobby that is fun and thoroughly enjoyable. When I'm not reading or writing, I'm spending time with my family or friends.
Note to self: Always always read more reviews before reading.
DNF
Trigger: h has relationship with both H and his best friend in the beginning. She loses her virginity to H in a threesome, they had a threesome relationship for one year but the h only loves the H. I didn’t continue reading as this is not my type of book. I don’t like threesome whether it was only in the beginning and not later on.

After reading Facing The Enemy, I think I had high expectations for the second book in the series. I feel a little disappointed. There was a re-petition of the events that took place the last year and Roselyn is keep going on and on about them and how shameful it was. Also, every now and then there is a remark about Roselyn's mother and how she isn't like all the other rich parents because she cares, still she was absent. There is a little action towards the end but it is resolved quickly.
I was super excited to read Liam, Deke and Roselyn's stories in the additional Enemy series books. Engaging the Enemy was sexy and gripping as we find that Roselyn no longer wanted part of the arrangement between herself, Deke and Liam as she has fallen in love with Liam.
Without giving away any spoilers, I enjoyed this story and the openness Liam conveyed when discussing his feelings for Roselyn. But in all honesty, Roselyn's opinion of herself was frustrating af. She basically took part in this consensual arrangement for a year and then slutshamed herself CONSTANTLY afterwards. It was so exhausting at times. But I enjoyed her sisterhood with Emerson and how Emerson has become a force to be reckoned with along with the guys. Overall, this was a great addition to the series and I look forward to Deke's book! 3.5 stars! ~Ratula
this author makes such a great books with great characters that i want to read so much.
•IT HAS PUSH AWAY from the heroine because the heroine thought of something that wasn’t even the case of their relationship. She push the hero away but not too much and not too annoying.
•NO CHEATING
•IT HAS DRAMA with the heroine’s step brother but not too annoying and there’s a drama with OM BECAUSE THE OM WANTS to ask her some questions. But the hero stops the OM.
•MANY JEALOUS SCENE FROM THE HERO
•THE HERO IS OTT POSSESSIVE ALPHA MALE
•NO VIOLENCE
•HOT SMUT SCENES
•HAPPY ENDING AND EPILOGUE SO GOOD
•IT HAS SEPARATION because the hero have to do it to protect the heroine so the hero lied to break them up. But THE SEPARATION BETWEEN THEM was not very long and the hero searched for the heroine after the hero fix the problem. BOTH ARE LOYAL AND WAS NOT WITH ANYONE.
•VIRGIN HEROINE
•THE HERO was celibate for a while before the heroine. the hero was not very a man whore.
•NO OW DRAMA
•We can see other characters from the series
OVERALL this story and this series just made my year of reading books so good. The series have good characters with the heroine and hero being very loyal and HAVE HAPPY ENDING LIKE GOOD EPILOGUE... Both couples from each series have this PULL AND JUST KNOW THAT THE PERSON IS THE ONE FOR THEM SINCE THE BEGINNING... The story is not boring, THE HERO IS OTT POSSESSIVE ALPHA MALE. THE HERO ALWAYS LOYAL AND THE HEROINE AS WELL. SAFE LOVE STORY. It shows how great of a friendship in this series as well... The lines are not so bad and are actually very inspiring. It’s very real the story is very real like you are watching a movie and inside their minds. so i liked this series so much and just soooo great...
I CANT WAIT FOR MORE. This author just became one of my favorite all time FAVORITE AUTHORS :)
So expectations were high after the wonderful "Facing the Enemy" with psychopath Ramsey. In the first book we are also introduced to his friends Liam and Deke who have been in a menage with Emerson's friend Roselyn. Being a fan of menage, I could totally see this work but this book is a 1 on 1 rather than a menage. Pretty soon in the book Deke breaks away from the trio leaving Liam and Roselyn together. The author did a great job of normalising the situation between all three people involved and explaining how they went from a 3 to 2-some.
As for the main H and h, there is a lot of push and pull between them as R needs to figure out how it's going to work with just L and without being part of a menage anymore. Liam has the same caveman attitude as Ramsey had but less intense and granted, they have been sleeping together for almost a year so I did felt the h was being annoyingly difficult about it. Nevertheless, I enjoyed their story.
note: I feel you need to get menage to be able to appreciate them. I know some people struggle with the fact that J/P can go hand in hand with sharing a h.
OK...I just couldn't get into this story. I loved the first book in the series but this one is lacking. I really tried but just couldn't finish this book.
~My Thoughts~ This could all be solved by communicating and trusting your partner. This is after the first book and it does not interact while the first one was happening. This is not a ménage à trois book. ~Characters~ Roselyn is fed up with just having sex, she wants something more. She knows the deal with the guys, so she decided to break up with them because she's tired of feeling lonely. She is trying to fight the loneliness by breaking free of both Deke and Liam, of course, Liam like hell fucken NO. She has an issue with her image because she views what she is doing with Liam and Deke as a slut. She feels shame over the fact that she is enjoys getting pleasured by two guys and she feels that people would judge her because of that, even though, Roselyn has said that there are girls out there have done worse in that town. Liam has started noticing Roselyn because of how she acted. Liam had an opportunity to claim Roselyn as his bu,t in that situation, it ended up being something else. When Roselyn wants to break it off Liam, he gets a wake-up call and wants Roselyn to notice him as more than just a fuck buddy. His refusal to leave her alone miscommunication between them and his intentions towards her, but makes her question her value to him and what he wants from her. ~Story~ While the story is engaging, it gives you a different perspective of how Roselyn constantly sees herself. While she is questioning her relationship with Liam and she is also questioning her image. While he did commit a taboo in the relationship trying to protect her, he does beg forgiveness but what I loved about this was how Emerson deals with the situation, like a good girlfriend she backs Roselyn regardless of her relationship with Ramsey. As expected of this story it is emotional because of the self-image but it is a HEA.
What utter convoluted, immature, nonsense. But I loved it! It was soo stupid that I couldn’t put it down. This author has a way of writing every emotional angle and basically beating the situation to death, but I still wanted to see how it ends. These characters are living like adults but they aren’t. Parents that don’t exist. And no amount of the FMC’s mother saying she’s not like the other absentee parents, changes the fact that she straight up abandoned her daughter at sixteen when she married her second husband. I don’t care how many phone calls you exchange. You aren’t there.
It’s no wonder the FMC developed a whopping case of abandonment issues, but only blames her father for it, as he started that chain reaction. Still, the author has these kids acting above there ages. It would have made more sense if they were at least out of high school.
Besides that, I am totally hooked on this authors level of crazy. She writes nutty, angsty stories with neurotic characters and stupid storylines. But I love the stupidity I guess. Also FYI, there were tons of grammar issues and at least two continuity issues that were distracting. I hate that. I can’t give this book more than the generous three stars, because it truly is a lousy story/characters but I did like it.
Enjoy, if you’re down for craziness in print but not in real life.
Loved this, one review said they didn't understand how Liam could share her in the beginning, but i think that's explained in the beginning of the story. He thinks that what she wants and he will do anything for her.
It's literally the same story as the first book. Even the stupid break-up led by miscommunication is the same: in the first book, Ramsey reads an anonymous text message on Emerson's phone and freaks out, in this one, Liam receives an anonymous text to put an end to his relationship with Roz. Didn't you learn to never trust an anonymous message? Why Tiffany? A character we don't even meet a single time? Why not use the step-brother? He was just here!?
Unpopular opinion but Roz' mother was awful. She didn't care at all about her daughter's wellbeing. She knew her husband was a bad father but she was ok with it because he was a wonderful husband?! Like please, a shit parent is a shit person. When you love your child you don't let them alone. It's 101 parenting class.
Second book where the hero does something unforgivable but the girl still forgives him and worse, she actually goes to him!!!
I really didn't like anyone in this novel I understand about the H, he was entitled but atleast he did stuff for the h and what he felt would not hurt her more but it's the h who were irritating in this: I mean talk about entitlement , first Emerson She was fine in the first novel, the way Ramsey behaved i was ok she behaved equally bad but in this she was acting like an entitled bitch and let me tell you it wasn't entertaining or sweet but stupid and irritating, Same goes for the h of this novel, I mean talk about everything is other person's fault, she never owned up and with emerson backing her up in everything it felt ridiculous. It was always her projecting herself as victim and never understanding the point of view.
I don't like the author's h, There is no equal in the relationship she portrayes. The h always would want the H to grovel to them and be at their feet and always need to have an upper hand.
Note to readers: I can understand the first book in the series being labeled as a "dark romance" since the main characters have a violence kink/characteristic, but even in that regard, there was no dark element between the actual characters. However, I wouldn't call this book a dark romance at all. The main group of male friends are brutish and have a disregard for authority and rules and do beat up a lot of other characters - but they are always protective of their relationships.
i agree with other reviewers in that it was just too much of her hating herself for being in a threesome for a whole year. that went on for so long and she just hated it and idk i still wouldve preferred this to have been them all being together or never have happened. what was the point. what did the other guy even get out of it for a year. idk
I loved the plot, the characters, the story, it was all so good. The glaring errors in this book are too much to look past. I downloaded The Enemy box set so I paid for all the books in the series and read them. Engaging the Enemy hooked me from start to finish but just the over the top number of errors is ridiculous.
This was such a lovely book I so enjoyed reading it Roselyn and Liam make such a great couple even if the start of the relationship is unusual. Loved the storyline it was fast paced and kept me wanting more, all the secondary characters were great as we know a few from other book
That whole initial mfm relationship was way to weird and I could look past that. I don’t judge but if it’s going to be a polygamous relationship, keep it polygamous. The h going all possessive after the polygamous relationship didn’t make sense to me. 2.5 stars.

LIAM and ROSELYN Trigger warnings : Too many to list I was super excited to read Liam and Roselyn’s book, since I read Facing your Enemy, and this book did not disappoint. It is not as intense as the previous book, but it has its own moments.
Roselyn’s character is a breath of fresh air, considering she is the only person in the series so far, who has a good relationship with her mother, as compared to the others. But she has always felt out of place like she does not belong. Due to her unique sense of dressing and her rainbow hair, and since her normal life has been interrupted when her mother married a billionaire, it’s been difficult and lonely for her, especially living with people’s judgements.
Liam is your typical rich kid, with no restrictions, morally or economically and unlimited money. When he wants something, he takes it. There is nothing that can stop him.
Liam, Deke, and Roselyn have been a consensual relationship for a year. But now Roselyn yearns for a real boyfriend, to do all the cute boyfriend things with each other. Her plan to break up with both of them doesn’t go as planned, because whereas Deke was just her friend, Liam was in love with Roselyn.
The only reason he continued in the relationship was because its what Roselyn needed and wanted. What started off as a protection detail ended up being the love of his life, and too bad for Roselyn, she is stuck with him now, whether she agrees or not.
“Pretending I wasn’t emotionally invested in Roselyn wasn’t working for me anymore. And even if she wanted to keep Deke with us in the bedroom, I could handle that. As long as she understood that she was my girlfriend, and that things were changing between us, I could handle that.”
R “Roselyn was willing to dump us in order to have a boyfriend who took her to the fucking movies, then that meant one guy was more than enough for her. She didn’t need a Deke in her life. And if she didn’t need a Deke in her life, then that meant I was enough. And I had better be enough, because there was no fucking way I was going to let her dump me for some random pussy who walked her to class and took her to the goddamn fucking movies.”
Roselyn is way too judgmental about herself. It’s a technique of self-sabotaging. It also goes to show how society views us and how we in turn become our own biggest critic and question our own morality before anyone else does. Liam and Roselyn love each other, but Roselyn cannot believe him due to her insecurities and her own self-induced shame, long enough to enjoy her love with Liam. She constantly insults herself as well as Liam’s love and Dekes friendship.
“Deke’s rage was a result of her constant insult to the respect he had for her. My rage was a result of her constant insult to my love for her. She knew I loved her even if I haven’t said the words to her yet.”
“My insecurities took control like they always did when something’s too good to be true. I was sabotaging myself because a part of me still couldn’t believe that I was Liam McCellan’s girlfriend. That I was officially part of their little group. With my rainbow-colored hair, nose ring, loud makeup, and stepdaughter status, I should never have been a part of Liam’s close circle. I think that’s part of the reason I was so comfortable with our relationship being a secret for so long.
I really loved the relationship between, Deke and Roselyn also. Despite their history, I loved how both of them become the kind of friends that they did. The dynamics between the 3 of them, even when paired individually doesn’t come across as just a lust-filled menage, but it’s written so well, that it’s respectful and just a lifestyle choice.
Also, I adored her relationship with Emerson though. Their sisterhood is truly so much fun and the mentions of Emerson and Rasmey were just the perfect easter eggs into their relationship as well.
There is some drama towards the end where Liam deliberately hurts Roselyn in order to protect her, but in the most brutal manner ever, and then comes the grovel, or rather the you are mine. I will tak you away. Loved the extremes to which Liam went to chase her down and make her forgive him and move on with their lives.
“I loved Liam, and I was weak with it. But I wasn’t going to be stupid with it.”
“The problem with heartbreak is that the pain is so excruciating, you know you don’t ever want to feel it again. And the problem with forgiving is that you have to trust that the one person who put you through that agony won’t do it again. It all comes down to fear. Which pain do you fear the most; the pain of heartbreak or the pain of not being with the person you love? The age-old question that’s never been answered to everyone’s satisfaction.”
I have to admit I wasn't sure about how this was gonna play out.... When I read the 1st book, I thought this was gonna be an RH book, and I don't like RH but when I realize it wasn't I still didn't think I was gonna like it, but every thought I was thinking about this was displayed perfectly in this book.... This author did an awesome job on this book, I loved it more then the 1st book.... I hope Deke book just as good....
