Just the name suggests power, dominance, danger...and the man himself? Oh man. I’ve never met anyone like him. Larger than life, exuding raw power. He’s a mountain of rugged, masculine sex appeal.
But I have walls that no man, no matter how big he is, has ever been able to break through. Thresh doesn’t know how to take “no” for an answer, though. He’s determined to get past all my defenses and show me what I’ve been missing.
The only problem is Thresh has enemies. Powerful, deadly, merciless enemies who have no problem using me to get to him. And Thresh is injured, one arm left useless.
Can Thresh singlehandedly take on armed and dangerous men out to kill us AND my freight train of emotional baggage?

The second installment was way better than book 1, just like i predicted it would be...
The same amount of action The same type of muscular "hulk like" mercenary/ex military alpha The sexually wild but repressed heroine (but very fine portrayed too, not that pathetic crap) The carnal sexual intensity here...is simply...beyond words
"I' m gonna show you how it should feel to be worshipped, Lola."
The adventure continues and this is just awesome!!! This next book is about Thresh and from what I read, he's a monster. Like on every aspect, monster hands, monster body, monster cock, like everything!!!
The story picks up when Thresh was rushed to the hospital where this "hot" doctor works. Lola Reed is hot alright. Big boobs, big butt, big everything. It's like Thresh found his perfect pair! Lola has a sad background with relationships so she swore men off for three straight years. Thresh was out of the question, even if he has big muscles and other big stuff going on there.
But being on Cain's radar, Thresh was caught up with Lola in a sticky situation. She was targeted by Cain mainly because Thresh has hots for their boss. They were chased and luckily they found a safe place to stay for a while, Lola's dad has a swamp. They got into each other's bones after they had a deep discussion of what really happened with Lola's ex. Ended up saying the L-word with each other and boom, sparkles everywhere.
Well it doesn't end here obviously, the story continues with Duke, he's still MIA. Find out what happened to the red head macho stick, Thresh's bestfriend.
So freaking sexy! I need more Thresh! A whole lot more! Complete book-hangover here! A PERFECT sequel to the series. Jasinda, you did it again! It is a perfect blend of suspense and HEAT! So darn HOT! Blazing! This is a MUST read! Did I mention that Thresh is a super sexy, drool-worthy man that will rock your world? The author never ceases to amaze me. I always seem to fall head-over-heels with every male character the author creates. This book, this entire series is so freaking addicting! READ IT!
I was waiting with baited breath for Thresh and he did not disappoint. Under all that big muscle, Thresh was just a big marshmallow. I mean, he kept making me swoon the way he would think about Lola and also the way he would talk to her. He was real with her…no lying…no holding anything back…just pure honesty. I really enjoyed that. I liked Lola as well. She was hardcore and strong but could still be put under Thresh’s thumb in 2.5 seconds flat. Loved it. Her hang ups with sex were unique but I liked watching her grow from that. The only downfall about this book was I felt it was too short. I felt I was left with an unfinished love story. Anyway…I can’t WAIT to read about Duke…he seems like such a fun character. I liked his humor at the end of this book and he seems like he would be a pleasure to read about.
4 stars Alpha One Security – Harris is the first book in this series by Jasinda Wilder and the first book I have read by this author. It is entertaining, thrilling, suspenseful and full of tension. It is a little erotic, sexy, steamy and hot, hot, hot.
Alpha One Security is owned and run by Nick Harris and like is bunch of unlikely misfits they are previous military men and mercenaries with somewhat hearts. They can be hard as stone but big teddy bears when they want to be. They don’t love or so they say but they meet his match when it comes to the bedroom.
When things get tough so do these alpha men who made me laugh with their wit and banter, sigh with their tender hearts and heart in throat when they get into the action and swoon when it gets sexy.
Thresh is obviously a well endowed man: Effing twelve inches long and nearly as thick as my wrist, or I was a size-zero white girl. “Jesus Christ, Thresh.” I glanced up at him, dizzy, shocked, and now…feeling decidedly ravenous. He smirked. “No part of me is small, babe.” “No ****.” I really loved Thresh the man knew how to play his woman, "his grin turned hot, rife with dirty promise. “I didn’t get hurt, babe. It’s just been a few hours since I’ve had you, and all the adrenaline has me horny. So I’m feeling a little…achy…if you know what I mean.” I can't wait for Duke's book.
Romance trope: security; on the run Series: Alpha One Security Length: 265 pages
Plot: Lola recognizes the man who has summoned her to the ER; she met him several months prior when he accompanied his injured boss. But she never thought she'd be treating former soldier Thresh for bullet wounds, and going on a date with him? Even more improbable. But when he shows up to her home, he brings even more trouble to her doorstep, in the form of a crime boss who wants revenge and would use Lola to get it. Suddenly the couple find themselves on the runand Lola finds herself healing past traumas that she didn't know Thresh would see past.
Commentary: This one was fun - and pretty hot. Thresh was actually really good for her, as much of a brute as he seemed, and Lola, once past her trauma, was unapologetically sexual, which was a change from most heroines. I felt so bad for Lola, having lost her mother and essentially her father too, and then suffering through that awful relationship. In fact, that was my one complaint - I wish we had some resolution on that front. I wanted Thresh to confront the ex, find him and make him explain and then pay.
Previous book in the series:Harris Next book in the series:Duke
3.5 stars. Thresh and Lola are a great couple and interesting, well-developed characters. The plot is excellent as is the suspense. The steamy bits seemed more like a long-drawn out commercial than a natural flow of the narrative. I might have enjoyed it more if the adult content had been shorter and more fade-to-black.
I am so happy that Jasinda started this spin off from the Alpha series. What a bunch of intriguing characters in this 'recovery' team. Thresh is larger than life and was such a dominate figure in the previous book. These guys live on the edge constantly and to them fall in love is a sight to behold.
Of course, Lola can hold her own. She puts Thresh in his place more than once. But that big tough guy has a heart of gold and ultimately he gives it to her. I love how Jasinda gives her heroines not only real life bodies but also strong personalities and in this case, qualities that will make them endearing to the rest of the team as well.
Loved the suspense int his one. Looking forward to meeting the rest of the team in more detail.
So far Thresh is by far my favorite of the Alpha One team...he's got such a great sense of humor but at the most inappropriate times. I also really love Lola, she is such a strong character and Thresh's equal in every way. As I thought with the first book Cain is back with a vengeance causing problems for the Alpha team and ends up kidnapping Duke. This story line is fleshing out really well and I'm anxious to see where it leads next.
This book even though it's about a different team member is still part of a series and for things to make sense you really need to read Harris before reading Thresh.
For a romantic suspense, this was mostly sex and make out sessions. Only 3 chapters maybe, and not even the entire chapter at that was suspense which progressed the actual story. And to top it off, nothing really happened in their progress with Caine. Thresh kills a bunch of people -on the road, at the Everglades when the bad guys find them and when A1S comes to evacuate them to safety. In between all this is chapter after chapter of sex. It was also frustrating you couldn’t tell who’s POV you would get.
This book took so long to read simply because I was procrastinating having to tackle another sex chapter before I could find out what happens with the story.
Could not put this book down, loved it from the start. Thresh is full on alpha with a cocky mouth but is all heart for Dr Reed, so did not want this book to finish and need Dukes book now to find out what happens next!!!!
Sexy Steamy Action-Packed! Sexy Hulk of a man Thresh falls for a emotionally closed off Doctor Reed. This sexy determination throws them in an unfortunate situation which leads them into a chase of cat & mouse in a wild adventure where their undeniable passion takes over.
The second in a series of alphalishous men! Did not disappoint, I was so caught up in all that is Thresh that the ending jumped up and bit me.... Anticipation has taken over for Duke!
So, I read Thresh(#2 A-1 Security) and Duke(#3) the same day and I have to say I enjoyed Thresh's and Lola's story a bit more and I will tell you that had I not read them consecutively I may have liked them both more. Having just read Thresh's story I realized Duke and Temple's storyline seemed almost the same. Too many similarities in their situations and their feelings made me not be able to get into Duke's story as much. The fault I found with both stories is timing . Yes I get these are erotica novels but really....the bad guys are coming >>>> not time for you to be coming... Just saying. I felt stressed!!
All these stories in this series leave you hanging a bit knowing who the next story will be focused on. DO I want to invest time finding out Puck's story...hell yea...Just thinking he is the most unlike the others so maybe his story will have more storyline. Meantime I am intrigued to see how they all take down the bad guys and save the day...I'm sure they will take him down right after going down...or maybe at the same time. Who knows with Jasinda's wild and crazy imagination.
Thresh 2.5 stars This book had so much potential to be so much more. The obvious holes in the plot were frustrating. Considering that this book picks up right after Thresh is shot; flown to Florida, and is standing in the hospital with a shattered Ulna it didn't make sense how his boss and boss lady were married when they had just ended the previous story as being boyfriend girlfriend. Also, Considering how bad his injuries were, I cannot imagine that he would have just been standing around in the hospital. Last I checked they had a procedure for gunshot wounds. The timeline was also off in regards to the fact that I would think he would have needed more than a day re-coop time. Granted this is fiction, but some plausibility would have been nice.
All of this saddens me as the characters seemed interesting even if they were rushed into an instant love and the fact that the author can write some steam. There was a pull to continue reading on because I wanted to find out what happens, especially knowing that Duke's story is happening at the same time as this story. It is only for that reason that I rounded this up to a 3.
Thresh is the 2nd book in the Alpha One security series. Based on how this one ended, I'm assuming that they need to be in chronological order. However, besides a few places where the author filled in the blanks of the previous book, I don't see where reading the first book first would've really added much to the story. However, I think reading this one before the third one. I was torn with my rating for this one because I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. It started out great - action packed, angsty and had the lust levels up to max but then, it felt extremely repetitive and I found myself thinking again! Get on with it already. Then, boom, the story just ends. I like cliffys like the next person but this just leaves you hanging and no resolution and I'm not sure I want to go through another reading session to find out how it ends. There are a lot of steamy scenes in a short amount of time. For me, it got annoying (see above) and really didn't do much to move the story along. But again... lots of steamy scenes for those who love it.
Jasinda is quickly becoming a favourite. She knows how to write and her characters show that off even better than the plot does. This right here is an alpha male story done right, with equal amounts of thriller, action, hot steamy languorous sex and endearing moments all in one. Lola and Thresh are a power couple and fully developed characters and I loved that Lola read as a diverse character (physically especially) and not as a stereotype. Despite a not so nice background, relationship wise, she wasn’t whiny nor damaged goods. She showed a strong backbone and proved as strong a character as Thresh: thank goodness for a balanced dynamics in a book couple. The action scenes were every ounce as believable and well written as the make-your-knees-weak sexplosions, which, despite being a tad too on the dragging side, were every bit delicious and drool worthy. Also, don’t read the excerpt of the next book in the series included at the end - you’ll get hooked 😊
