Ava Montgomery is not a lay down type of girl. Never has been, never will be.
And all that mess she left behind in LA? It’s old news now. She’s been keeping a low profile, just like she promised.
But despite that tidy fact, the Feds still want her. And that’s gonna be a problem.
Because it looks like they’re not the only ones. Nope. Ava’s just won the worst sort of popularity contest…
Between the Feds, the mob and the militia, it’s anybody’s guess who’ll come out on top. Of course, my money’s on Ava but there’s only one way to find out.

This is a love story packed with action, secrets and double lives. I enjoyed meeting Agent Finn in The Captive Born -- and I love him even more now after reading this book. I'm looking forward to the next one.
Score: 9/10 Would reread: yes An action packed suspense romance.
This book was packed with action, drama, suspense, double lives, and secrets. Once I started the book, I couldn't put it down. The story was so compelling, and there were so many secrets revealed that I just had to know how it ended. During the length of the book, Ava spent time with the FBI, with the militia, and with the LO (basically the mob).
Somehow, from the way the first chapter was written, I was continuously suspicious of the character's motives. While Ava and Finn were being held by the LO I was sure that they were actually FBI up until they got rescued by the militia. Afterward, I was sue that Finn and Ava's brother were actually in a scheme together for 30 pages or so. The funny thing is, exactly when I stopped thinking that they were all plotting behind Ava's back, the other shoe dropped in a completely different direction, that I never even thought of.
Through so many secrets, reveals and tense moments, the absolute best was the time Ava and Finn spent at his parent's house. Everyone else was so tainted by lies, double lives, or dangerous lives that a peek into the peaceful life of caring parents was like a peak in paradise. I loved how the brothers came together on Christmas and I found it so funny that Ava was the first one that questioned Andrew's occupation, while Finn just ignored her mention.

Grab you by the throat compelling romantic suspense Vanish Me by LK Magill is an amazing suspense romance thriller the had me on the edge of my seat, stealing my breath and agonizing over the myriad of difficult choices for the characters in this book. This author has written such a spellbinding and dangerous world that I was consistently held captive by each character and the emotional gravity of their situation from all angles. Ava and Finn are in what seems like a doomed relationship, Clay is not unaffected either. It’s secrets, lies of omission, dangerous organizations, fear, panic heartbreak, gut wrenching longing all wrapped up along with beautiful loving, heartfelt moments. This book’s plot is crazy, dangerous, intricate and so complex! There are significant periods of time lapsing, but it feels like a never ending roller coaster. There’s palpable suspense and serious moments of fear and panic. It has all the feels from beginning to end. Overall, this page turner has plenty of steam on top of all the action and this reader was unyieldingly invested in amazing characters. While an HEA is not spelled out, there’s a lot of good feeling for Ava and Finn as well as Clay, Sophia and Mason allowing the reader’s imagination to run and wish all the good and happy things for them all. I read an ARC of this book via Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
I received a free ARC from Hidden Gems for the promise of an honest review.
It was okay. Ava was taken in for questioning by the FBI. They were moving her from one facility to another when she was kidnapped by a paramilitary organization called LO. This organization and the FBI are looking for her brother and she was placed in the middle. One of the FBI agents, John Finley, knew her brother and was taken captive by LO with her. In captivity, they learn to trust each other. They grow attached to each other. Ava's brother comes to rescue them. As the LO continues to loom for Ava, Finn and Ava go on the run. Soon Ava learns that Finn isn't really who he portrays himself to be.
This book moves really fast which left me confused in some places.
Good romance, full of action 4.5 It's a good, action-packed romance that also seeks to lose us, just like the heroine Ava who doesn't know who to trust between her brother Clay who opposes a group he belonged to, an FBI agent, Finn who we don't known if he's here to or manipulate her, her son, and a group that threatens her. The story is hot, a little dark at times, and a little slow to start, with a second half that seems to change context before rekindling the action and being even more unpredictable. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
3.5* ARC Review – Hard to Vanish The synopsis of this book had me intrigued when I read it, so I requested the ARC from Hidden Gems. From the beginning you can tell that Ava has a lot of secrets, when she is taken into the FBI for questions, it appears that there are lots of people interested in those answers. From there the story takes lots of twists and turns as Ava and FBI agent Finn start this adventure together. The story has a lot going on and the reader is continuing to see how Ava’s secrets will play out and if Finn is really there to help her.
I received this book for an honest and voluntary review. What A RIDE! The synopsis on the back of the book doesn't even begin to explain this book. I potentially thought it may be a little rom com based upon a couple lines there, nope, not even close. You never know what is going to happen to Ava next. There was only one twist that I saw coming due to some carefully placed sentences. I couldn't put this book down and had to bargain with myself 1 more chapter and it was time to go to bed
she is wanted by so many because of what she may know. They may tie her down or use handcuffs but not the nice ones but the hard metal ones. Who is going to come out of top? She is not as soft as they think she is. See how and who comes out on top

I loved this book. There's a good balance of believable suspense/action elements in there. I also really enjoyed Ava and Finn's relationship and how it progressed. It didn't feel forced at all and I enjoyed the connection between the 2. Loved the side characters in the book too. It's my favorite series from Magill so far. I would definitely read more from her.
This twisted plot kept me flipping pages as fast as I could read. It’s an action packed thriller filled with danger and suspense. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. The storyline was so well developed and entertaining. I loved Finn and Ava’s story, but I feel like it’s not finished yet. Parts of the puzzle have me confused still. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
