Standing over six feet tall, USA Today bestselling author Jonathan Moeller has the piercing blue eyes of a Conan of Cimmeria, the bronze-colored hair of a Visigothic warrior-king, and the stern visage of a captain of men, none of which are useful in his career as a computer repairman, alas.
He has written the DEMONSOULED series of sword-and-sorcery novels, and continues to write THE GHOSTS sequence about assassin and spy Caina Amalas, the COMPUTER BEGINNER'S GUIDE series of computer books, and numerous other works. His books have sold over one million copies worldwide.
The traveling group gathered by Caina is joined by Ilona, Caina's Liege woman, who happens to be the Bronze Witch. Morgan is first to discover her true identity. Over the stpry, Ilona and Sen become very close, and finally Ciana realized her servant is the Bronze Witch of legend. They complete the task assigned by the Emperor, and now must travel to Istarinmul to secure the Sword of Rassipn Yager, safely in the Loremasters tower ,
Book 5 was a fun read and had errors throughout. The plot and characters have developed well. The plot is predictable, but fun to read and has a few twists. The characters have developed a repetitive telling in what they have done and should do. I have enjoyed the series so far and look forward to the next book.
I love all of Mr Moeller’s writings. I have been following Caina through many different situations. The author manages to bring the reader into the story. You can identify with the characters. Love this author.
Ghost Night book 5. Spoilers ahead for the earlier books, and the earlier Caina books.
It opens with the high Ghost circlemaster telling Caina that if she can not solve a mystery, the Empire is doomed.
While this does interfere with her getting the Sword back to safety, it is urgent: an ambassador, a king's brother, has vanished, and they need to get him back before his brother's kingdom switches sides in the war. This involves old friends -- Ark is astounded that she and Kylon married -- and enemies. Questioning the ambassador's servants brings up the ominous House of the Silent Door, in a manner which understates its problems. The Bronze Witch finds her efforts more difficult. A legacy of Moroaica causes many problems.
Loving this series and look forward to each and every book. Now Cainia had been banished from here and the reason for which she was banished was due to the fact that she had to kill Lord Corbould's son because he was possed. So he wasn't too happy to see Caina. But they needed her so he agreed to her terms of lifting her banishment. She was able to rescue the Lord but yet her Aunt a 3rd relic a diadem which she needs. Caina still has the sword and there is one left. I'm glad that she is no longer banished. Looking forward for the next one
Another great read from Jonathan Moeller. It has been awhile since the last Ghost book, but even a week's wait would seem to long. Love these characters, as well as those in his other series. If you haven't checked out his other books, you are missing out! A prolific writer without sacrificing quality, always looking forward to the next!
Excellent plot development, as usual. I felt that The Bronze Witch/Ilona character played a large part in this story, maybe even more than Caina. Villains with "new to me" capabilities made the battles exciting. I do wish Kylon's personality was less taciturn but Morgant more than makes up for it.
The ending has a surprising twist that may take more than one more book to unravel. Can't wait.
I liked the book, but Ilona drove me nuts throughout most of it. I’m glad she started to change at the end of it. The political games are probably going to increase in the next book.
