It cannot be easy being a transvestite, or any of the LGBTQ. It cannot be easy being different. Read the story of Ramu, who later turned into Ramya. You might begin seeing the members of the LGBTQ with a different perspective, a more accommodating one.

D.R. Downer is not a new author for me. Yet, he manages to surprise the reader in me every time. After writing across genres like thriller, mystery, and self-help, this latest one has a completely different flavor when compared to his other books.
Transgenders, or Chhakkas, as they are commonly known in India, are people who we all come across in our daily lives. Yet, their plight is most often not discussed at a larger forum. Their feelings, need for inclusion, and the definite need for equal opportunities are also largely ignored. This book gives a brief but stunning glimpse into the life of one such boy who identifies himself as a girl. What he undergoes due to the so-called society, has been beautifully outlined by the author.
I loved the crisp storytelling that leaves the reader wanting more. I also liked how the author manages to ace any genre that he takes up. A great read which will (hopefully) make each of us think in the right direction!

A very short story that describes the sad life of transvestites as they are still very much repudiated by the society. A must read for anyone that is willing to understand the problem of being born different.
