Life for Ivy Hawthorne has changed overnight.

Her reign as queen of the Winter Court is on the horizon, she is married to a dark Unseelie prince she used to hate, and she and Jules are about to graduate from high school in the human realm. Best of all, Alena's threat to the Faerie Realm is over.

But as Nan used to say, when things seem too good to be true, they usually are.

With Alena's daughter Teagan still missing and Slaine carrying the heir to the Seelie Court, Ivy can't afford to let her guard down, even for a minute. And when the leaders of the Faerie Courts gather for a much anticipated union, the threat Ivy has been dreading may prove more dangerous than her darkest fears.

Trapped in Teagan's ruthless web, Ivy will be forced to make impossible choices that will lead her to face her deepest secrets.

When not working, Bekah can be found at home building block towers for her son to knock down, drinking coffee and watching Netflix with her husband.

4.25 heartbroken STARS ★★★★✩
This book is for you if… you're loving this series already or if you need reassurance that this series is the hot stuff! I loved this instalment so much - it broke my heart in many ways and ends in a cliffhanger just like the other episodes, but boy, was I invested.

Overall.
I feel like I've overused this phrase, but I need to talk to someone competent about my heartbreak concerning this book. The fudge, Bekah?

As per usual, The Glass Scepter was another quick-paced instalment that kept me breathless from the excitement (and also because I was walking the streets of Hamburg in a rapid manner because I'm too cheap to pay for public transport as long as I have two functioning legs).

At this point, returning to The Iron Crown Faerie Tales is like having the best time with your old pals. I grew so familiar with all the characters I'm excited to continue this story every time I press play on my audible app.

Suspense-wise, this was even better than the predecessor. Together, they are both definitely my favourites in the series. It was nice to see both the personal growth in the relationships and the progression of the story going steep, although I'm not sure just how Bekah did it.

What’s happening.
Although the dangers to her realm are not forgotten, Ivy finally arrived at her happy ever after. Arden is the one she's settled for and her heart is l o v i n g it. But the enemies don't sleep and while Teagan plots to take her revenge on the heiress to the Winter Court, Ivy, Arden, Jules, Padriack, Bare and even Sloane have no idea what the upcoming events might cost them.
Con:
heartbreak
evil monsters who know your darkest fears
some more heartbreak
Pro:
arden is absolute lover material
finally spending her forever with her best friend
all the flirting, damn you isolation

Loved it

I loved this book, just like all the other books in this series. The story line is amazing. Ivy has come so far since book 1. I love Jules more and more with each book. I loved Bear, then disliked him, now I love him again. I didn't fully understand his motives in the previous book, but I get it now. He did everything for Ivy and love. I went from hating Arden in the beginning of the series to loving him. He really won me over on the last book, and he was amazing to Ivy (and Jules, and Padraic in this book) Unfortunately, this book had some really sad scenes. I'm still holding out hope for love and happiness in the next book. Slaine and Teagan must pay!!!

Ugh…… I want to hate Bekah Harris so badly right now. Truly. I guess, on some level I do. But only because it’s 11:14 PM and I have to be up at 5am tomorrow and all I really wanna do is start book 6 so I can finish this series.

Please understand. I don’t want to finish this series to “be done with it”. I want to start the last book because every fiber of my being is craving the plot, the characters, the storyline, the beautifully structured sentences, and the wonderful, fantastical world of hate, intrigue, deception, spy games, double back, back stabbing, but over all, love, that Ms. Harris has created. I legit have never been this upset at being so excited to finish a series.

These characters have made me mad, made me yell, made me cry, but most of all…they have made me sigh. You know what I mean, that sigh- the sigh of love. Of finally, OMG they get it, they see what we saw chapters ago and now, finally, you open your eyes only to have it ripped it from you, right in front of your eyes and we are left angry, vengeful, and wanting. You know… the best kind of book ever.

Honestly, by far my favorite book in the series so far. I have to say so far because who knows what book 6 will bring. All fears of predictability are out the window and if it wasn’t almost midnight and I didn’t have to be up at 5am, I’d start the next book. I am incredibly grateful that I work in an office ALONE and no one that sees this. And honestly, if the few who know about it read this…well..they wouldn’t blame me at all. LOL

Go. Read this series. NOW.

Too short but a great prequel for things yet to be resolved

SPOILER ALERT - STOP HERE AND MOVE ON TO PURCHASE NEXT IN THE SERIES

For those who have joined me in reading all in of the series....
I felt sure that the story line would have Bear as the winner rather than Ardan (sp?) didn't you?
I was surprised by the change in Juliet's character to a new species an look forward to seing where that goes.
Bear's impending role into fatherhood looks to be a sure thing, but what will happen to the little snot rag mother of that baby?
How will Juliet deal with this Lalliot (sp?) that is her evil mentor? That will be interesting.
And of course... we need to finish our happy ever after with Ivy/Bear Juliet/Padric and read an Epilogue that talks about babies and years, years, years, years into the future.
Right? hmmmmmm

How do I say goodbye to a fictional character? I have grown to love? I don’t have entered my heart, and his death has pulled at my heart strings, breaking it. His death may have been a cliché at best, but it hurt nonetheless. I felt the pain Ivy felt, to hold the menu love as he take his last breath in your arms is enough to wreck, have a towards a heart so close to breaking. I felt her pain, her loss, like it was mine. I just have one question, why didn’t Ivy heal Arden like she healed violet? She did have the power, why didn’t she do it? And why did the author have to kill a character she had made us fall in love with? What a monster. However I do commend Bekah Harris for writing this amazing series of books that is apparently not done yet. I must purchase this.

The last part was heartbreaking!

I can’t put this book down. I really had to finish and get to the details of every chapter but I was saddened by the ending. It felt like when the major players have moved on with their lives difficulties and heart aches are chasing them. Alena’s minions continue to work against the Winter Queen and they have forged alliances with the dark forces. Ivy’s character has truly evolved from a naive young teenager to a formidable and resilient queen. Ardan has changed and has redeemed himself. He has grown to be selfless and endearing. Truly excited to read book 6.

Love this series!!!

I absolutely love these series. I read them all within 3 days, I found them to be a fun, fast paced read. There's lots of twists and turns and decisions that keep you guessing. I live for the Ivy & Ardan scenes and their relationship!! Jules is also an awesome character, super fierce and funny as hell! The only reason I didn't rate 5 stars is because the ending completely crushed me and I'm not ready to accept it! I cannot wait for the conclusion to the story.

I love the character development. I love Ivy and Ardan. I hated the previous romance and this is literally my wishes coming true for this book.

Despite the 5 stars, I really hate when characters don't see the antagonists for the evil they are. Like how many times does someone have to try and kill you for you to get rid of them ... smh. I hate when everyone lets the evil people and their horrible deeds just slide.

The story was a great continuation of this series. Full of adventure, suspense, romance, betrayal, heartache and sacrifice. I'm absolutely in love with this series! I can't wait to see what happens next! There's so much happening in this story and what you think things may just be good, the author creatively takes you by surprise with a new twist of new and old foes!

Still one to go?

I started out giving this series five stars. I loved everything about it but I had the hardest time finishing this last one and I’m not excited about reading the next/last one in the series. 😞 Alena was made too powerful while every other leader appeared too weak.

The book itself is interesting but the amount of spelling errors throughout all 5 books I’ve read and the amount of grammatical errors is astonishing to me. If you have an editor who doesn’t catch simple errors then maybe you should go back and look through yourself before it’s published, OR find a better editor.

I have been falling in love with this series with each new book and this one just broke my heart.
I so didn’t expect that plot twist that I was left in shock (still am, actually…).
Now I am scared of reading book 6! I can only hope the ending will be less heartbreaking than this fifth book. Fingers crossed.

The pain

SPOLERS****

I cannot believe what I just read. Just when I was starting to really fall in love with Ardan and Ivy being together he died. I've never hate a character more in my life but Teagan is something else. This whole book was full of misfortune.

Heartbroken!

Oh this one was a bit of heartbreak wrapped in an action packed package. With one of my favorite characters dead and another one changed forever I cannot wait to see how this is all going to end! I hope Ivy kicks some serious butt in the next book!

Can I just say how angry I am? Ivy has lost way too much and now she's lost Arden too. Like seriously how much more is she going to suffer? It just pisses me the hell off. Beyond irritating. And I dont think im going to like how the next book ends from what I've heard. Lovely.

I love the story with all the twists and turns but I am deeply saddened at the loss of Arden. I did not expect that, they only had such a short time together and Ivy was finally growing stronger with his love and support. I was soo mad that he died.

Unexpected

What a twist in the story. I felt like the story was flowing a little slow at the beginning after Alena was defeated. But when the pace picked up, I couldn't put down the book for a second. And now I am eager for the finale.
