What is this mess??
I keep being drawn in by the synopses of this author's books, but I need to learn to resist, because I always find the books themselves disappointing and ridiculous.
First, the character's names are stupid. Gianni and Lowkei are women. Sisters, in fact. What were their parents smoking? Then there are supporting characters Capone and Pacino Luciano, a married couple. Not like the names would offer you any context clues, but Capone is a woman. Does the author know that there are other ways to signal that these characters are Italian-American?
Next, the internalized misogyny displayed by the author got old fast. In a novel where several men do extremely ridiculous things and make poor decisions due to their hurt feelings, she repeatedly claims that women are overly emotional and prone to acting out of those emotions. And what about the men, one of whom goes out of his way to terrorize an ex?? Is that supposed to demonstrate his superior manly ability not to be overly influenced by his emotions? Shahrazad Ali would be proud of how faithfully women are run down in this book.
Finally, the level of unnecessary angst each protagonist put the other through was annoying to read, but I would have been bothered more by this if I'd actually liked either of them.
I don't recommend anything about this book.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I got this after seeing a blurb for it on Twitter. I love friends-to-lovers stories above all others in part because I think friendship is a great foundation for romance so I love seeing friends take that next step. I think what was missing for me here is that the friendship between the protagonists is so strong and overpowering that I wanted to know more of how they became so close. It’s in passing really that we learn they went from high school friends to same college to staying in same place after college (and none of this was a coincidence). I almost wish there were like, flashbacks? And I also didn’t quite get the push-and-pull of their relationship.

This couple was so cute that they literally made me want to strangle them. They played a game of ring around the roses for so long but always stayed connected. Glad they were able to see through the roadblocks that they built to finally see each other.

This story was too cute! Loved everything about it. Gia an Chauncey were adorable together. But hands down my favorite character was Low!!!! Great job Chelsea!

Gianna was so frustrating
I know it’s fiction but why does every female character in this author’s catalog have to fight against themselves just to be with the man that they profess to truly love. How about mixing things up? How about being creative and coming up with other obstacles to love than just fear? I can’t do it anymore. I cannot read another book about a mindless female who is afraid to love!

Can we get more of Gia and Chauncey?
This friends to lovers story was interestingly frustrating. Both Gia and Chauncey loved each other for quite some time and yet when it was time to reveal the truth there were crazy roadblocks set to delay their destined pairing. I love Chauncey, he is definitely book bae. I wanted more of the story and I wished that the author would consider a sequel because I need to see Gia and Chauncey intimately involved.

Lacking Something
Initially I was frustrated with the main character and almost stopped reading. However, I finished the book and it was an okay quick read about friends turn lovers (or lovers to be). There was something missing but I’m not sure exactly what, maybe more action or drama.

Crush
This book was short but so drawn out and very childish. I couldn’t connect with either characters because they let a crush go for 10+ years and no excitement whatsoever. I was happy to see Kellon and his family make an appearance. Have to be my least favorite book by this author

Oh my goodnesss! This book was cute!! Friends tk lovers & a second chance romance, so so sweet! This book was everything! I didn’t Alexis, ugh. She just wanted attention. I love Gia and Chauncey! The way that Ms. Chelsea pieced this story together was very cute and marvelous. This was my first read by this author, but it surely won’t be my last.

Okay
First let me say I love when someone has the courage to follow their dreams.This was my first time reading this writer's work.I read this story in one day and then I re-read this time make sure I didn't miss anything.While reading this story I thought to myself that I've never read a story that was this sweet ,I mean sugar sweet.The writer gives us this story that's basically a love story.But I have to tell you that the entire time I was reading this story I felt has if I was only getting bit and pieces.I didn't feel a connection to any of the characters.The writer needs to flesh the story out a little more and to do a little character development.This was a really good try and there are moments you smile or laugh out loud.Overall I think a rewrite should be the order of day.

Where is my Chauncey at lol
Chauncey is a true rare breed. Gianni was stupid to have him wait so long after he confessed his love for her. True, that groupie tried to break that up twice but she should have known him way better than that. Terrence seemed like a true stalker and f***boy for all that he did to Gianni especially considering they never had sex and she never told him she loved him. Everyone needs a Lowkei in their lives because not only is she funny but she's a true rider fr those she loves. When she came out with the vaseline and tennis shoes ready to beat the breaks off Terrence, all I could do was laugh. That ending had me in super hopeless romantic mode lol. Great love story!

A Whole Vibe
OMG Chelsea! I freaking love this story! I love Chauncey and Gianni together. I laughed so hard. This is one of those feel good in the summertime, whole mood type of stories that gives you good old school vibes. I didn't want it to end. Lowkei is my rider! That's my type of friend right there. Then you made magic when you brought in Capone and Pacino. Gurl, I ought to smack you. This is one of the best friends turned lovers books I've read in a while. On top of that, the love was genuine. I actually had fun reading this book. Even Terrence gave me some excitement. Excitement to want to whoop his a#%! Very, very good book! I went to bed and woke up a happy woman. I can't wait for the next read.

This story was sweet and adorable about a 10-year friendship that was really a love at first sight relationship. Chauncey and Gia take us on their journey of crossing *that* line of friendship to lovers. Even through their angst, being in their own heads too much, and the two infamous nuisances (Terrance and Alexis), they were destined to be more than just best friends.
If certainly did not hurt to have a hype person like Lowkei in both of their corners either! Low was such a character and I loved her to pieces. I hope we get a story about her! *wink*

Ok seems like Chauncey is trash too. He claimed he was gonna let Gia be his but he let Alexis waltz in. And she slept over. Idc idc he could’ve put her ass in a hotel. He’s a professional athlete. And her reasoning for needing to stay over, man he could’ve gotten her a room
Gianni is foolish. She giving Chauncey way too much that she’s willing to ruin relationships. And for what? In the head he had her looking just as stupid as the other women
Chauncey redeemed himself whilst Terrance continued to be a fuckboy. I didn’t get why Gia wasn’t able to get her stuff out the shop. Legally he owed her that.
This story was ok. I wasn’t in love with the MCs but they grew on me

I loved reading this story, very well written and the characters were amazing. A bittersweet love story of Chauncey and Gianni. Bestfriends who for years have had that special place in their hearts for each other. No one could stand in the way of their love. Chauncey refused to give up on his girl Gianni. Gianni was fighting hard not to let her feelings be known to Chauncey but in the end she knew who her heart belonged to and decided to let things fall into place. Great storyline Chelsea

Great love story!
This was such a good story. It pulls at your heartstrings throughout. I loved that despite the fact that Chauncey was an NFL star, he was the typical dog. He knew what he wanted and took the steps needed to better himself to be the best man he could be. Gianni knew what she wanted but didn't know how to get it. She was rightfully afraid of crossing the line and losing what she already had. True love wins every time.

My, my, my! How I loved this story!
This is my first read by this author and I admit that im beyond please. Not only was this a beautiful story of the love between two people, it's a testament to the fact that it's never too late to express how you feel to the one you love. Thisnis hope that love will always win in the end. Kudos to the author for a great characters and a well thought out storyline. I'll be combing through her catalog for another great read!

Lovers and friends.
This book was such a sweet and endearing read. It was well written and flowed even better. Chelsea did a great job of developing Gianni and Chauncey's relationship. Chauncey's love for Gianni was displayed in everything he did. And their "things" were soooo sweet. I loved them as a couple. I'm so glad Terrence didn't ruin things for them. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more from Chelsea.

This was a a cute read. I enjoyed it for the most part and there were no grammatical errors. Gianni just really irritated me like Chauncey is literally spelling it out in your face that he is in love with you and you know you are in love with him but yet you keep saying oh he isn't into me like girl df. Lord i think its the way her character was so naive it made me not like the book in some aspects. But i will be reading another book from this author

I don't know how Gianna restrained herself from taking it there with Chauncey all those years! That big ole sexy man!!! The two of them put themselves through it, but they finally made it to a happy, peaceful space. Really enjoyed this story. Especially Lowkei! Everyone needs a Lowkei in their life! Definitely a fun summer read!

This is my first book by Chelsea and she didnt disappoint and got her a new fan. I love friends to lovers book. Gia and Chauncey were the best of friends and loved each other for years. They had to deal with sexes who just didnt understand that they dodmt want to be with them. I loved this book and look forward to reading more of her work.
