Sydney Stone never dreamed that her little hobby would become her career. Her dating advice blog becomes a smash hit overnight due to a shout-out by a big celebrity. Pretty soon, she has published a book, and goes live on national television with her long-term boyfriend, Scott, to promote it. On air, Sydney decides to make a bold move by breaking traditional gender roles and proposing to him. But he surprises her with the wrong answer and instead reveals that he has been cheating on her. Heartbroken and humiliated, Sydney watches as her book sales and her reputation as America's love doctor go down the drain after the televised fiasco. In order to help Sydney, her best friend introduces her to a talented publicist, Drew Young, who she doesn't like at first glance. However, after Sydney unexpectedly meets Drew in a shopping mall they begin to fall in love with each other. An Excellent Book That Displays What True Love Is Really All About!! Loved It!

For me, this was an easy, light, relaxing read with minimal angst. I loved this book! What a refreshing tale!

The players: Sydney Stone writes a popular blog dispensing dating advice and it is revered by many. She has one published book and is invited to a National TV talk show along with her long-time boyfriend, Scott. Sydney decides to follow her own advice, break the stereotypes and propose to Scott on air. He flatly refuses telling her he he doesn't love her and has been having an affair. She is beyond shocked and devastated not to mention humiliated beyond what words can express. Poor Syd watches as her book sales plummet and her reputation is shattered. America's love doctor goes down the tubes pretty quickly.

Sydney's best friend wants to come to her aid and introduces her to Drew Young, a talented publicist. At first meeting Sydney does not care for Drew but as time goes by they spend times together and begin to fall in love, a very sweet and devoted love. Drew wants to teach Sydney how to have fun and fun they had as Drew showed her what true love was all about.

Such a refreshing book. One I highly recommend and will re-read a few months down the road.

The plot and writing started of well, but then it got dry. The writing got dull for me and I hated how quick everything happened. Drew and Sydney's relationship was rushed. It was like one minute he is a jerk, then he wants to see her again and then she falls for him. Plus the writing felt dragged, as if anyone could write it. The descriptions were boring. Then the whole dancing thing chapters bored me. Additionally, I figured Scott would be the boyfriend of Flo. I saw that coming.

I did not like the way Sydney and Scott met again. Their dialogue was like" yea I forgive u, lets move on". I felt that not only did Scott failed at properly apologizing the first time, but even the second time. That is why I felt it needed more dialogue. Scott's betrayal was not well explained, or properly apologized for. I did not sense an actual closing for them.

The writing really bored the story. The plot was well developed, but it could have been better. The characters were not well created. The story lacked emotion and a proper connection with the reader.

"It's not you - it's me."

If you have a couple of hours to spare, on a flight, or on the beach, this modern romance will fit the bill. Sydney Stone and Drew Young are from the popular mould of the 'beautiful people'; those that are in fluffy jobs, footloose and fancy free, approximately one million miles away from the real world. Inevitably, one of them has a disaster, in this case it's Sydney who proposes to Scott her boyfriend on live TV and shock, horror, he doesn't love her! Drew steps into the breech to pick up the pieces. Read on girls, if you want to know what happens next.
It was okay and I'm sure there's a big readership waiting for this book, after all it's about relationships and relationship counselling. Sorry Kate Goldman, what is it they say? (Roll titles)

Sydney is living her dream and lands a TV interview to launch her first book; everything seems perfectly aligned in all areas of her life. She has no doubts in her current relationship so with confidence and trust in her boyfriend she proposes to him live on national TV. She is rejected and everything she has worked for crumbles around her.

Having experienced rejection and humiliation in the past, I could fully relate to Sydney’s pain and couldn’t help but love how this sweet romance rolled out between her and Drew. This is a heartwarming story that was uplifting and highly enjoyable. Perfect for the romantic or someone trying to start anew after a breakup.

I love the beginning of the story, characters and then after few chapters everything got diluted. I expected some kind of misunderstanding between 2 main characters, bit of passion boiling up. The middle and the end of the story just didn't fulfill my expectations. Shame.

I wanted to like it, but it just didn't hold my interest and I found myself skimming. Great blurb but just didn't do it for me.

Sweet Romance

This was a wonderful little romance. As a blogger, it was nice to read about a blogger making it big. Plus, the romance was a great read.
