His best friend is getting married—so why isn't he?
Aled's best friend is getting married.
He supposes it's only natural for his thoughts to turn to his own wedding, and the space on his hand where his ring used to be. He tried and failed, so what's the point in trying again?
Anyway, Gabriel isn't interested. Between his old friend Kevin, his live-in dominant Aled and his new boyfriend Chris, Gabriel has plenty to keep him occupied without getting involved in any of this wedding nonsense. If he's changing to appreciate love without sex as well as sex without love, that doesn't mean he's any more amenable to expensive parties and silly costumes.
But Aled can't get the question out of his head, and Gabriel can't shake the feeling that there's something Aled's trying to ask him.
Is this three-year affair about to become something a little more serious?

I am in love with this unconventional relationship. It feels like discovering something new because reading this story about Aled and Gabriel has really opened up a whole new avenue in life and a whole new outlook on how to live it. I have enjoyed this series since the beginning and I am still enjoying it a lot, I can't wait to read the next one.
This instalment in the series was so refreshing. It sees Aled and Gabriel more settled in their relationship and that has Aled pondering marriage especially as his best friend, Suze is getting married.
Aled and Gabriel are our main characters and our eyes into the story and I love them both. They are such unique characters and it's amazing to discover their boundaries and thoughts and feelings and I am still enjoying the hell out of learning more about these two.
The one thing that completely caught me off guard was just how much I enjoyed Chris and Gabriel's relationship because god, those two were adorable. Their interactions were so cute and sweet and plain old adorable that I was rooting for them from the very beginning. I can't wait to see how this relationship develops in the future.
I am often amazed by the lack of drama in this series especially considering that the nature of their relationship must lend to added complexities but these two seem to be able to traverse them without any problem whatsoever which is nice even though it feels a little unrealistic. I mean this is way too perfect, or maybe I'm just jealous...
I one problem I had with this story was that we didn't get a single scene from beginning to end. All the sex scenes in this book and there are quite a few, but despite the number, we don't get a single sex scene from start to finish. We would either get the prelude and not the main dish or the prelude and the main dish but not the ending or we would get neither of the two and jump straight to the aftercare, and it got a little frustrating by the end. For my sanity, I really hope this changes in the next book.
All in all, I really enjoyed the story and I can't wait to jump into the next one.
This book follows the story of Aled and Gabriel in the Starting Over series. The storyline is unique in the genre and I am appreciating the risks taken in the story telling. The books follow the characters throughout the entire series and are recommended to be read in order.
Aled and Gabriel met as a hook up and just kept at it. Now, they are living together and their relationship is solid and their love is strong. There is a lot going on with these characters and, at first glance, it’s mostly Gabriel that we have to keep up with. Gabriel has an extremely high sex drive and likes it rough and then even rougher. Aled gives him what he needs most of the time, but for the really rough stuff Gabriel turns to Kevin, his longtime dominant that has become family. Gabriel has also started seeing someone new, Chris. Chris is sweet with Gabriel and offers him the opposite of what Aled and Kevin offer, and Gabriel is tender with Chris when he discusses asexuality as it relates to Chris.
This is not the story of Gabriel finding the one and becoming monogamous. This is the story of Gabriel finding exactly the partners that he needs. Aled has also found the right partner and he adores Gabriel and feels lucky that Gabriel comes home to him. Aled always knows where Gabriel is and Aled accepts and supports what Gabriel needs.
