After taking a year or so to plod through 1/4 of the real book, I decided I probably would never finish it. Thus, my desire to still know the story led me to read this. It was great to catch the symbolism and set me up well if I ever decide to read the original. (Which certainly has a lot to offer!)

Cliff notes once again shows itself to be a short course on a novel that I have read. I highly recommend reading Cliff notes after reading any of "the classics."

After finishing The Brothers Karamazov, there were some ambiguities about this complex novel. So I read this book that helped me to understand the concepts of power of love, immortality, etc. discussing throughout the book. It is also a good guide to analyze the characteristics of Karamazov family members.
