Just as batshit crazy as the first volume. The thing is, when reading it, I'm having good time. It's funny, there's big huge battles, it moves so quickly. All is that is great. But I never get connected to the characters, can't even remember their names. Which sucks. But for a breezy, super fun, action packed comic it's not bad. A 3 out of 5.

A solid sequel, that adds something to the first arc.

Nathan remains a bit of a cartoon - the kind of dopey man-child you only really find in ultra-violent comics like these.

Let's see where the final arc takes us.

I had to read this twice to understand it. But I'm still enjoying the ride. Glad it has a planned end in volume 3. If this were open-ended it could totally go off the rails.

Holy mackerel. The Weatherman is a true stunner, both artistically and narratively. I haven't found myself this surprised by the twists and turns of a book in a long time. My primary complaint? Jody LeHeup overstuffs each volume. This series could be ten volumes longer.

The first volume was more overstuffed, though, and overly action-packed. This second Weatherman is less of a breathless chase scene, offering a few characters room to breathe and plotlines to develop. That said, it's still a wallop and could use some more elbow room. "Un-put-down-able," as the professional reviewers say. Amanda Cross, Nathan Bright, and crew go to Earth to find Bright's stored memories. Surprise! Earth isn't a depopulated wreck. Instead, it's half populated by desperate survivors and protozoan zombies.

At first, I wasn't having it. I don't recall the first Weatherman volume mentioning a virus. I thought Earth was lost, all dead, a blackened husk! Now it might be recoverable? But LeHeup's smart narrative quickly whipped those thoughts from my head. I mean, they're still outstanding, but Weatherman is just such a fun, absorbing read that my brain was able to gloss over any plot holes.

And the big twist at the end! Among many big twists! I had to turn the book sideways once for a vertical two-page spread! Nathan Fox is getting crazy over here. I just hope I don't have to wait too long to read the conclusion.

This remains one of my all-time favorite comic series. Everything is on point: art, colors, writing, world-building, story, characters. Can’t wait for vol 3!

The artwork sucks just as much as it did the first time around. It's trying to be dynamic, but follows its own rules of anatomy that are just confusing. Then we have the story. Holy regeneratin' mutant cow, the story. The author assumes that the reader is familiar with all aspects of this universe that is in reality very different from ours. The many named characters thrown at the reader also doesn't help matters any. They have relationships that aren't explicitly revealed, so you have to figure them out, adding more of a mess to this chaotic read. Lastly, the main character's humor is utter infantile crap. What a waste of time this story turned out to be. Well, at least I know that Jody Leheup and Nathan Fox are going on the blacklist. I feel sorry for anyone who decides to read this crap.

Ian Black and Amanda Cross head to Earth to find a scientist named Nyseth who has Ian's memories from his Sword of God days. Amanda's team is none too happy about helping the murderer of 18 billion people. Meanwhile some organization in New York is doing something with the survivors, allegedly to help them survive, but still resulting in many deaths. And also you have something called the Solar Council that wants to kill off life on Earth to be able to claim it back again. The Sword of God is doing stuff too. It's damn confusing, is what it is.

Library Book #2
Iv been looking for a change recently so have decided to go to my local library and go through their graphic novel selection. Looking forward to it!

The series really picks up in this second volume, the character storylines are expanded upon very nicely and the new location has really improved the stakes and action. There are some very good heartwarming moments and the cliffhanger pages made me desperate to turn the page! Looking forward to the third volume being released and will definitely be buying this.

The team journey to earth in search of the hard drive holding Ians original memories. But what should be a routine retrieval turns in to havoc when they find out who is now inhabiting earth and what they are willing to do to get a hold of the weatherman.

This story became really fun. Sure it's quirky. But great fun. The art grew on me more and more as I've progressed through the series. There's some really neat twists and turns. Looking forward to part 3.

2.5 stars - Unlikely allies, desperate times, and monstrous consequences converge in The Weatherman Vol #2. Nathan can be a very irritating person at times, but could be a soulless genocide without heart? The only minor annoyance I have with this volume is the departure of Dave Stewart from colouring duties. Whilst Moreno Disinio does a great job overall, the detail and depth that Dave Stewart brought to the table just isn't there.

The brutality of this world is painted very well, and to see some truly emotional and touching moments in the middle of everything was done in a very balanced way. It also helped that the Weatherman cracking wise was entertaining in the midst of it all and I truly can’t wait to see how it concludes. Especially after all the twists and turns we’ve already faced.

Rounded down from 4. Whaaa? Second volume in a row with crazy rating movement!

This could've been a great second volume to a two-volume story. It isn't. Vol. 3 is in production, and this felt like it could'a/should'a wrapped up instead of a late pivot.

I enjoyed it a lot more than Vol. 1 until the end. And much less fixation on "how much torture could a brain endure" which was nice.

Switches up the genre to a post-apocalyptic body-horror… which keeps things interesting. Though we do get a few good moments, overall this volume does even less to develop the characters than the first one. Still an entertaining comic with some great art and a premise and ending twist strong enough to keep you engaged into the final book.

I love this series. I love the concept, I love the delivery, and I think I even liked this one more than the first one. I can't wait until volume 3 comes out. This is one series you really don't want to miss.

Although it had been a year since reading volume 1, it was easy easy to jump right into volume 2.

Although volume 2 had more action and maybe a little less story, it was an excellent middle chapter setting up for a potentially great final chapter.

Some new cool characters and more information about the virus. Still looks great and I love the humor in combination with the action. The second halve did get a little boring with a lot of explosions and people dying, but the ending and cliff hanger is amazing yet again!

I might have given this a three if it wasn't the second out of three volumes. It was pretty difficult to follow and the art could be extremely messy at times (not that it ever really looked ugly however.)

Hopefully the third one kind of brings it all back together

Super great and intense volume I am sad it ended on such a cliffhanger and haven't heard any news about vol 3 but I hope to soon. Love the art direction and concept so much and it's building up really good.

Loved. Every character had energy, every page had color and action that bled beyond the panels, and the *plot twist* was excellent. Irreverent, at times grotesque, and totally enjoyable. Excited for the conclusion in volume 3.

This is such a great series! I randomly found it on libby and totally lucked out. Great art, fun story with likable characters. A bit over the top on the violence and some of the writing is a bit clique, however I think it works well.

i really liked this but the black man sacrificing himself for a bunch of white people (especially after just watching synchronic) is a trope that can definitely die.
