This should have been the time for putting their lives back together, but - really - who expects that? One naïve angel, one psychic vision, one slap from Kara, and they’re back on the road again. Sam, Samantha, and Jason have got things to do, demons to ash, abominations to kill, and miles and miles of highway to cover.
Hang on tight for a wild ride. Powerful demons are pulling levers and making plays, and no one is safe.
Well, the gang is back and they've got their usual list of things to do, you know, “demons to ash, abominations to kill”, etc. Just another typical day at the office ... not. Don't worry, Sam and Sam and Jason (who's baaaack) are as you know and love them. It's another fine installment of the series. If you're a newcomer here then apologies for my “insiders” comment but trust me, this is a wonderful series - but you really should start with book 1. For returnees, your “fix” is here, full of the same deliciousness of strong plot, excellent writing, great characters and world-building you've come to expect and enjoy.
I said on my review of the previous book that in my humble opinion Chloe is the best Fantasy writer. Have just finished this book I will reiterate that. This story had me hooked from page one Samantha had her work cut out in this one as Carter was kidnapped . Lots of battles with demons and angels became involved. I can’t say more without giving the game away but Sam and Jason grow in their skills and the interaction and intensity you could cut with a knife . We learnt a heart wrenching fact about Jason’s past. Plus developments with Sam and. Sam . The ending took me by a pleasant complete surprise.
I am in deep now and can’t wait to read the next book. Every book has been good so far. I am invested in the story and love all of the twists and turns along with the very different world building.
This book was just as good as the others. Can't wait for the next book. I absolutely love the characters, they are freaking great. Sam & Sam make an awesome pair.
