Daxon of Seven is trying to take make it through the first day of a new job. After being kicked out of the Illibrium mines, he’s starting a brand-new career as a Bounty Hunter. And with his ferocious size and mighty fists, he figures he’ll be a great fit. On day one he starts his ship, leaves dock and finds a stowaway.
A delicate New Earth female is sleeping in his bunk. Meanwhile, some rich idiot is screaming, red-faced through the holo vid that she’s his bride and he wants her returned, immediately.
He should give her back—rich idiot has powerful friends. Except he’s inhaled her scent and he’s 99% certain this tiny human is destined to be his mate. Therefore, this precious cargo is his.
And if anyone feels different…they’ll have to go through Daxon first.
Author's note: This is book #6 in the series, but can be read as a stand alone. Be prepared to meet new friends, and revisit old favorites.
Michele Mills lives in California and leads a life of quiet, G rated desperation with her husband and two sons. In an attempt at a fulfilling, R rated inner life that does not include Disney movies and Nickelodeon; Michele reads and writes filthy romance and, well...filthy romance. And she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Daxon's Hostage was a quite enjoyable read. But I had found the heroines transition from "I don't wanna marriage" to "I will test the mating compatibility" too sudden.
I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just could not get enough of it and once I started reading it I could not put it down. I recommend that you read it.
Omg I was so excited to read this book. From the beginning of the story I was hooked in the connection between both main characters was steamy I loved the adventure our characters go through. Great scifi romance
This is another great addition to this series. The storyline was intriguing and full of suspense and action. And I love standalone books in a series, and this one had a fast pace that just flowed really well.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
So I haven't read any of the books prior to this one in the series and I don't think it really impacted the story too much. Do I now want to read them? Yes! This one was an Amazon freebie, so I'm kind of hoping that the rest of the series will also go on sale some day so I check them out as well. It would also be nice to finally understand some things about this book that I'm sure were explained earlier.
Despite the fact that there is pretty much zero action in this book, I ended up enjoying it a lot. The only thing I hated was the obsessive emphasis on how perfect and beautiful Darcy was. To the point that she was called the most beautiful woman on the planet. Hard eye roll. I suppose there was a point to it, but it always annoys me when so many books repeat ad nauseam how perfect the characters are.
Poor, perfect Darcy just wants to work on robots and machines in her small town, and instead finds herself being forced into not just one marriage, but two. After repeatedly putting off marrying her brother's best friend, she blatantly ignores her family's actions and unfortunately catches the attention of the most eligible bachelor on the entire planet. While everyone else is beyond jealous of Darcy, she doesn't want to marry him at all. Especially when she finds out what kind of monster he is. So her brother comes up with a plan to get her off planet. Stow her away on an alien space ship.
Daxon is a newbie bounty hunter having a bad day. His ship is broken (and he's no repair man) and his first bounty was retracted. Then after he finally gets off planet, it's to find an intruder sleeping in his bed. His first reaction is to lock them up, but then he catches the intruder's scent and knows immediately she's his mate.
I really liked the interactions between Daxon and Darcy as they get to know each other. Granted, it was only over a period of a few days. But Daxon is indeed an honorable alien and respects Darcy's wishes about not testing for compatibility. Darcy was already being forced into two marriages she didn't want, so she has no desire to marry period. Too bad her body craves Daxon so badly and he's such a good guy. It was interesting to get an alien species that doesn't have sex for fun, making the complete 180 Daxon goes thru afterwards totally believable. Poor dude had no idea what he was missing out on.
I totally enjoyed the two other bounty hunters we meet here. And how everything went down after they came on scene was great. It was a good end to the story. Plus, with that epilogue, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who kittens are kryptonite to.
Daxson's Hostage book six in the Alien Bounty Hunters series-of course, I didn't start at number one. That would be too easy. Fortunately for me, Daxson's Hostage is a stand-alone read. Should be titled Daxson's Stowaway instead.
Darcy Chopra has been deemed the most beautiful (virgin) on New Earth by the richest man and most eligible bachelor on Earth, Gurpreet Singh, who wants to make her his bride. Any girl's dream, right? Wrong! Darcy doesn't want a husband and successfully dodged her brother Hector's s best friend. Now she's got to shake Gurpreet. Everyone believes Gurpreet is as perfect as his life allows, but Darcy has seen the monster, the real Gurpreet, and refuses to attach to said monster. Fortunately for Darcy, Hector has an escape plan.
Daxson of Seven of Xylan, a former Illibrium miner, turned bounty hunter-not by choice-on his first mission, which turns out to be a bust, or so he thinks until he discovers a stowaway on his ship. None other than Darcy Chopra, who has fled her wedding. Daxson doesn't learn of his stowaway until he's reached deep space, which was Hector's plan to keep her from being thrown off the ship. One sniff and Daxson realizes with ninety-nine percent certainty; Darcy is his mate. The very last thing Darcy wants is a husband. Dary's ditched two so far and planning on Daxson being the third. Daxson agrees not to force Darcy's hand, but that doesn't mean he won't try to win her over before they reach Omega 9.
A combination as sweet and exciting as the rest of the series books, I am a huge fan of this series and with each book, I think, this one is my favorite. Now I'm realizing that they can't all be my favorite, so I'll just say this is one of my favorite series to read. Michele Mills has me completely addicted to the Xylans and their Be'Ihs and the stories that surround their connections are all as varied and exciting as well, so each story feels like the exact thing that each couple has to go through to get where they need to be. I literally read one from beginning to end, every time, fudge the sleep I should be doing, fudge the house cleaning, I just have to read the whole thing immediately. I loved Darcy and Daxon's story. I thought both of the characters were in need of something the other one offered, and their connection was worth the time it took to get them there. The book starts off with an exciting escape, then moves to a building friendship. The only thing that was left unsettled for me was the Singh connection like we all know that corrupt people with money don't just quit being that way because of one set back, and I wonder what the resolution was after the ending of the story in the book. Although I have a residual over-thinking question, I still think this story was an excellent read and I hope eventually there will be more to this series or a connected one, eventually!
Alien bounty hunter Daxon of Seven is in a new job as he had been kicked out of the Illibrium mines and so was trying to get through his first day. He feels he should be a great fit for the job as he is large and has mighty fists. After starting the ship and leaving the dock he finds a stowaway in his quarters sleeping in his bunk while there is a rich idiot screaming down the holovid that she is his bride and he wants her to be returned immediately. Whilst he ought to get her back as the guy probably has powerful friends he can as soon as he breathes in her scent her realises that she is actually his mate and he cannot give her to anyone. Can he keep on to her?
This was a strange story that had a reasonable plot and plenty of opportunities for drama and excitement but didn't quite get me completely involved in the story. It was reasonably well written and easy and clear to understand. Contains some sexual content.
DNF at 62%. This honestly could’ve been a good book. The plot had potential but it felt like it was written by a 13 year old.
Her internal thoughts were very repetitive and honestly unnecessary. At the start of some chapters, there would be a whole recap of what happened, which would’ve been fine if the author wrote it better. No creative aspect to how it was done, it was just a literal recap of what previously happened. No personality quirk to the characters to at least make it an entertaining read. Tried to finish it still, but when it came to their first mating, I was so disappointed and just done with it. No spice whatsoever. Wattpad writers could’ve done much better, both with the plot AND the sex scene.
I had no idea there were so many links to books I’ve already read and a few I own but haven’t. I just happened to read this one because it was free. I’ve already read about two of Daxon’s brothers, how neat is that? Anyway, I enjoyed this book because of the relationship that developed between Daxon and Darcy. His honorable actions made him so lovable and Darcy was a hoot. There was just enough steam to keep it exciting and the characters made me positive I was going to read the books before this one. If you like this genre you will enjoy reading this and other works by the author.
When Daxon discovers a stowaway in his bunk, he immediately recognizes the human female as his bride. Darby is escaping an evil, yet powerful human male, she doesn’t want to get tied to another male, even if he is an honourable Xylan.
This is a quick read sci-fi romance, with a buff alien hero and a resourceful human woman. It’s an enjoyable read, and features an extended epilogue to introduce the final book in the series. The spin-off series “The Swirl” is related to this epilogue, and readers will benefit from having read the first in that series at least. An enjoyable piece of sci-fi escapism for fans of sci-fi romance.
Another great story! I really liked how she gets out of the very complicated, and dangerous situation of being pushed to marry one man, to avoid marrying someone she has no feelings for, only to be caught by the rich, murderous monster, who declared she was to marry him. Her brother, helping her to escape, and hide in a bounty Hunter's ship, simply because it was taking off, from New Earth, gave her the escape, but now Daxon has scented her, as his Bride. She is overwhelmed by another man deciding that she has to marry him. It of course ends well, and she has a wonderful , family approved husband, in the Happy Ending. Trish. A.
I became quickly involved in this book and I couldn't put it down. I thought that Darcy’s character may have been a rich brat but she wasn't at all. Daxon was a gentleman and was honest about everything.
Usually I it takes a while for the plot to move along but this book isn't like that. There's also a good story around Darcy and Daxon that's interesting. Darcy also has skills that will help Daxon in the long run.
I really liked Darcy’s brother, Hector, it would be nice to come across in the other stories. So I'm off to start the series THE FEVER BROTHERS.
A very pleasant story of a young woman, Darcy, who wants to be an engineer but isn’t given a choice. She runs away from not one unwanted marriage but two! The second supposed to be to the son of the wealthiest man on her planet. As such he is spoilt to the point that he is evil. Her brother, Hector, helps her to stow away on a Xylan warrior bounty hunter’s ship where he is certain that she will be safe as the captain is a member of a very moral race. But it looks as if she’s jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire!
A Bounty Hunter meets his mate, because she stowed away on his ship to flee a forced marriage.
She was said to be the most beautiful female on New Earth, and was to marry the son of the richest man on the planet. All Darcy wanted was to get a mechanical apprenticeship and live quietly with her family. When her brother helps her escape from the male holding her and onto a Xylan Bounty Hunters ship where she would be protected neither of them knew the Xylan was her biological mate. The bad guy gets it in the end, there is a happy ending, and babies and kittens.
Poor Darcy is picked by an evil and rich man to be his wife. The thing is that evil man is known for killing his wives and babies so Darcy's brother stows her away on an Xylan's ship. Xylan's are known for protecting and honoring women. Daxon finds the stowaway quickly and knows she is his mate because his ship would not have allowed Darcy to stow away on his ship unless the ship recognized she is his mate. They have quite the adventure until Darcy decides to test if they are mates although an accident has them testing before she told Daxon. All ends happily for them and their families!
This is the best book out of the whole series. I like Darcy and Daxon. They got to know each other. I also liked how Daxon was a slob and wasn't very handy at fixing things. He was good at protecting and providing. Darcy was smart and new how to fix things around the ship. It was nice how they complimented each other.
Daxon discovers a stow away on his ship, Darcy, and she just so happens to be his mate. Darcy is running away from a evil man who is set on marrying her when she stows away on Daxon's ship and she definitely doesn't want another husband. As these two spend time together Darcy opens her heart to Daxon and they get their HEA. This book is funny And sweet.
Daxon and Darcy were cute. I noticed a lot of the couples in this series had matching initials. Still deciding if it's cheesy or cute. PS I love it when the cast of several books assembles for the final fight. (This is the extended epilogue added at the end that was originally in the bundle of the first 3 books)
I read this one as a prequel to the next series. Son of course I now have to go and read this series from book one as I loved it! I can't wait to see what happens in previous books. This one had such great heat and built on trust want respect. I loved the sexy bits! The claiming was one of my favourite parts!
This was good. I started reading the series with Daxon brothers and wanted to know about him. It said his cousin betrayed him but it didn’t say to why or if his brothers didn’t stand up for him. Loved how Darcy refused to be forced into a marriage especially to that creep she was supposed to marry. Glad Daxon claimed her as his.
I loved this book , but I like the whole series, sad to see it come to an end, I love thought if testing for compatibility and wearing gloves until it happens. I love the way they claim their mates , really really hot and primal.
This ia great quick read with interesting characters. Daxon and Darcy are likable and the development of their relationship is sweet and passionate. If you want a quick and light read, this is a good book for a relaxing read.
It was a very good book! Very interesting, funny, I liked the whole drama that happened in the middle of the whole meet & greet and at the how he becomes part of a family he had been missing. Love the ending and how everything worked out!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😇🥰🥰😛🤩
Loved this installment to the series. Daxon has been banished from his mining and becomes a bounty hunter. Darcy is running away from not one, but two marriages. Ends up being asked for a third time. Lol.
Holy shiznet!!! What a gr8 story in this series. Darcy is running from a forced marriage and runs into Daxon who is a bounty hunter. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up
Darcy is running from a forced marriage with a man who rapes and kills his imprIsoned females and children. Her brother helps her get on a Xylon's ship to escape. Daxon finds Darcy and recognises her as his mate and so that dance begins.
Darcy and Daxon are from two different species, and yet compatible. They find love after she refuses two other suitors, one she is actively running from. Theirs is a true love match. Great story!
