Biography
One Fan at a Time

Annette is an award-winning author, published by Affinity Rainbow Publications, who lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her wife and their five furry kids. With over thirty published novels, four Lesfic Bard finalist awards, two Lesfic Bard Awards, and one Goldie Award for her fourth novel, Locked Inside, she finally feels like a real author. Annette is as much a reader as a writer and always looking for the next lesfic novel to cue up. She came up with the One Fan at a Time tagline because it rolled off the tongue much better than One Reader at a Time. After pondering who she was at her core, it was all about connecting to each reader on a personal level. She would be the first to admit she doesn't do well with the masses. If someone picks up her book and it touches them she believes she has achieved what she wants with her writing by reaching each reader. It is who she is at her core. This is a well written romance with a story not often told - but readers should be aware that the title is somewhat misleading. This follow-up to the Trophy Wives Club is about one of the women - Alex - a "pleasure worker" eventually recruited to work at the facility on a part-time basis. We witness her "audition" but otherwise very little of the story takes place there. Instead, the focus is on her particular backstory of being someone brought into the US illegally as a child, her having to navigate what that means as an adult (especially in today's political climate), and an unlikely romance that develops with a wealthy widow she meets away from the club who is more than a decade older than herself. It's a good read, with characters you like and root for and a lovely romance. But erotica it isn't. Nor is it really about what it's like to be a pleasure worker, although that is very briefly addressed. Definitely an intriguing premise that I hope will be more fleshed out should this series continue.

Perhaps i was not in the state of mind capable of appreciating this book a little more. I guess if I was looking to read a modern day fairytale kind of story that doesn't need things to make sense to me this may have worked.

This is a FANTASTIC follow up to The Trophy Wives Club by Ali Spooner. This is Alex’s story and it is so, so wonderful!! Sweet and gentle Alex has had a really rough year or so but things are finally starting to turn around. With the help of some great people she finds herself in a most unexpected place where she can happily use those special skills both the ones her beloved father taught her and the ones she learned at a special sort of ranch in Nevada…. Most unexpectedly of all, she finds herself falling in love, yummy sighs. I TOTALLY am in love with the characters, the descriptions, the emotion and the story. I have placed this book in my All Time Favourite Books folder and will be sure to read it again and again!

My very first Annette Mori book!

Wow. This chick can write.

Alex was a dream, well, my dream anyway. She was an incredibly resilient woman who rolled through the punches like a pro. Even with all the crap she'd had to endure in her life, she never let it penetrate her huge, kind heart. Knowing Alex was a sweetheart only made the more intimate moments that much more special and HOT! Holy Hell!

Whoo! I highly recommend.

I really enjoyed reading Alex and Danna’s story. I’m so happy to see love wins again. I know a third book is in the works and I can’t wait to see how everyone is doing.

I enjoyed this book from start to finish. I loved the story line and Alex is an absolute dreamboat. Danna is a great character but Alex is my new favourite from any book I have read. Great secondary characters, my favourite being Selene. The pace was just right. I wouldn't mind getting a date with Alex.

This book is a continuation on from Ali Spooner's The Trophy Wives Club. It can be read as a stand-a-lone book.

I received the book from the Author via a competition she was running for her recent birthday - Thank you again Annette.

I enjoy every book I read by Annette Mori. Unknowingly, Pleasure Workers spoke to me in a way even in 2026 isn't commonly seen. The MC identifies as I do when referring to the act of sexual intimacy. I saw myself in the journey that is taken here. I appreciate being seen in the works of amazing writers of Sapphic intimacy and adventure. As a MASC defined personality and presence having the intimate part of my life shown so openly and accurately was affirming. A gift that I am not sure that Annette Mori knows is so needed by WLW even when we are 65 and reading about versions of our younger selves who can now be a bit more vocal and visible, it's no longer 1970. A great read for anybody. I did not define the representation here as I believe it would be a spoiler for anyone who has not figured it out by my review. This is a timely books for so many reasons. I listened to the audio version of Pleasure Workers and Desarae Hollland did an incredible job with the narration and has a voice that makes this a sensual listen right from the start. This is not an overly spicy read but it is so well written when those scenes are encountered. The plot was so real that some folks might have difficulty with it in our current real daily life experiences. I would definitely recommend this read to any WLW reader. A bit of angst, a bit of spice and lots of friendship. Spells a great read for me.

Wonderful creation

This was a great follow-up to the Trophy Wives Club. Lex and Dannas characters were great and refreshing. Their story was tastefully told and woven into the TWC story artfully. Well worth the read.

Fantastic Read

I really enjoyed getting to know all of the characters in Pleasure Workers! Wonderful tale of the diversity of love and how it can be found in some surprising places with unique women. Annette Mori knocked this story out of the ballpark!

It wasn't amazing, but it was a good story, with good characters, and there were some hot steamy scenes.

A story of hope, love and satisfying ending!!!

Annette Mori is a spectacular author, and her new work is a reflection of her vast talent. Her characters are real, and naive at times and I honestly admire that the author creates characters as such. Alex for example, a pleasure worker, shows a lack of judgment as she lets her emotions take over. This is real, Alex is real and she can definitely be the girl next door. Most will argue that fictional characters are fake, but try to convince me that Alex is a created character. Her depth, her emotional state, her appearance, her naive notions are all there to bring into a existence a physical entity as real as myself. Well, when an author has the ability to do that then she surely mastered her craft, and there is also plenty of care and ingenuity. Well done!!!

Ali Spooner and Annette were meant to write together. The transition from one book to the other never skips a beat the way the flow together is remarkable to say the least.
After reading this I shudder with anticipation for the next installment.
This book will make you laugh, sad because no such club is available, and cheer on the main characters. Alex will leave with cheering her on while jealous of her , "clients". What an incredible journey they lead you on. Encore to you both

The premise is overly simple and borders on the ridiculous but the book sails on the very engaging and personable characters
