wasn’t sure about this book but have to admit to be being very pleasantly surprised. I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC of this book.

Lauren meets Leo after a night out leads to a steamy encounter, thinking this would be the only time that they would see one another, she shocked to discover he is her new teacher. Even knowing its wrong she can’t help the way she feels for this man and can’t stay away. Can Lauren hide her true feelings or will their new love be exposed?

Leo moved to California to escape and lick his wounds after his fiancé cheated on him. Blowing off some steam a night out leads to a night he never could have dreamed of until it turns into a nightmare seeing the woman he slept with is his student. Can he stay away from Lauren and disregard how she makes him feel or is their love worth risking everything for?

The chemistry between theses two really was awesome and Brenda Ford really does give you characters you can care about. Great read, highly recommended.

I enjoyed this forbidden professor/ student romance. Their attraction was strong and their chemistry sizzled. I felt the storyline was very entertaining and it kept my interest focused. Emotional turmoil, drama, tension, romance and steam fill this tale and shine a spotlight on this couple and the tough choices they must make and what risks they are willing totake for their love. I am posting a frank, freely posted review.

This book was so good that it drove me crazy as well right from the start. Lauren Ryan has had a hard and special life with it just being her dad and herself after her mother left the both of them and never returned, so what’s a father to do raise his daughter the best way he can and in all there years together she never wanted for anything but now her world has been turned up side down with the death of the only person she loved in the world her dad. Now it’s time to start again and make him proud by finishing college and becoming a lawyer and just when everything is falling into place she meets this amazing man Leo at the bar she’s at with her friends and they hit it off immediately and one thing leads to another and they have the most explosive night together but neither wants it to end the next morning or ever but life must move forward and they agree to meet up again but Leo is struck down by a car and looses Lauren’s number while in hospital and cannot find her again so he goes to work as a professor hoping it will all work out and it does right to Stanford college where she is attending the last piece of her law degree and finally becoming a lawyer but never did she imagined that the love of her life would walk back into her life as her teacher. And when they meet again in the classroom and they are still drawn to each other but must keep there love a secret. So how does it all turn out for these to love birds read this amazing book to find out.

Lovely book well written.Lauren moved back to California to finish her last semester to get her final credits for her law and goes out with her friend Marnie to a bar for a few drinks.while there her eyes land on a hot man.
Leo moved to California to get a fresh start caught his fiancée screwing one of his colleagues he goes out with his friends Noah and James while there he also see a hot female who catches his eye also.
Lauren goes and talks to him and they really hit it off like thy have a connection they go back to his place and make out and spend the day together.lauren writes her number on Leo arm cause his phone is flat while walking home he is hit by a car and when wakes up in hospital the number is gone and he can’t call her to explain what happened.
They are both in for a surprise because he is her professor and she is the student which they never discussed.
They try to keep the relationship professional but they couldn’t keep there hands off each other and then things start to go wrong when Leo’s ex come back on the scene.
Eventually everything works out right with HEA at the end.
Lovely story that will have you stuck turning the pages till you get to the end.
Well worth reading.

They didn’t know when they first hooked-up but now that they do can they stay away?

Leo just suffered a big break-up. He found out his fiancée was cheating on him so he left town. Now it’s time for a new start. New job, new city, new life. He wasn’t expecting to meet the woman he wanted to spend forever with before he’s even unpacked his boxes.

Lauren just buried her father. She just needs to finish this last class to graduate. After she gets ghosted she wants nothing more than to focus on her studies and get done as fast as possible. Fate works in a funny way though because her new professor is the guy she thought she had a good connection with.

They know they need to stay away from each other. Professors can’t date their students. Throw a crazy ex into the mix and a bunch of friends against it and you end up with the fun and fast paced story.

Brenda Ford sure knows how to write characters that are captivating. Readers can relate to them in some aspects which makes us connect more with her stories. This book is no different. You’ll be transported into their lives and experience all their ups and downs.

Loved it! This is my first time reading one of Brenda Ford books and it won't be the last one either. This is thr first book in the Stansford University series. This story is about Leo and Lauren. Lauren is returning to school for her final semester after having to leave to take care of her sick father. Leo is starting his life somewhere else that doesn't including his cheating ex fiancé. One night out he meets a stunning, beautiful young woman. They spent an amazing weekend together. Then something happened to Leo and he couldn't figure out how to get in touch with Lauren. When Leo was able to start his new job. Whoa, Lauren is one of his student. They can’t be together, she’s his student but, somethings are worth waiting for. But can they hold off until the end of her semester? The chemistry between them is blazing hot. Once I started reading I was drawn into with every page I turned. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. Keep up the great work!

This book focuses on the taboo subject of a teacher/student romance. Leo, a university instructor, meets Lauren during a night on the town which leads to a steamy night. Imagine Leo’s surprise when he finds she is his student. This situation presents many issues for both parties. Can Leo and Lauren keep their new found love a secret, or will they be exposed and lose the love of their lives? This book’s plot contains emotion, drama, romance and steamy chemistry. The characters are endearing as they tackle the many ups and downs of their romance. This is a well written book by Brenda Ford and I recommend it for purchase.

2 Stars for Behind Closed Doors by Brenda Ford

The grammar was so bad that I was totally turned off. Sometimes incorrect grammar has its place but in this case the main characters were a college professor and a senior in college. They wouldn’t start out a sentence: “Me and him.....” This went on throughout the entire book. I could have overlooked a few grammatical mistakes but there were so many that I couldn’t appreciate the story. I think an author that takes her work seriously ought to check with an editor before publishing. I would have only given it one star but the story wasn’t bad.

So disappointing!!

I'm really confused...I bought this book based on the synopsis and the reviews that were posted....this book makes no sense! The way the book is written contradicts what it's supposed to be about... A forbidden romance between a professor and his student. This is way overly proper it's hard to follow because you're thinking "who in the world talks like this?? I could only read 40% if this book, I couldn't get through the frustration of figuring out what's trying to be conveyed.. It almost seems like it was written by a teen!

Leo moved to California to start fresh after his fiancé cheated on him. He meets Lauren and they share a steamy night together. He is shocked to discover she is his student. Will this professor risk losing his job of the girl he can’t stop thinking about? Fast-paced read with loads of drama and plenty of steam. The characters have lots of depth and the story has plenty of twist, turns and emotions. I really liked it.

DNF at 68%. Totally disappointed. I enjoy the teacher/student trope, which is why I was drawn to this book. The book started well enoughtbut it dragged, was boring and I didn’t like the writing style.

After learning that his fiancé is cheating on him Leo moves across country to a different college to teach. One night out he meets a stunning young woman named Lauren. They connect and don't want the night to end and end up at the bar of her hotel. Lauren is back in town to finish her last semester of school and is waiting for her apartment to be ready to move in to which is why she's in a hotel. They have an amazing time an end up in her room. They spend the next day together but when he sees his phone is dead so he can't put her number in it she writes it one his hand. On his way home Leo is in an accident and ends up n the hospital and the number gets wiped off. He is upset because he only has her first name to go by. Lauren thinks he lied to her and tries to move on with school. However on her first day of class Leo is her teacher. Leo isn't about to let her get away from him this time. What will they do about being together when they are teacher/student? Will Lauren believe him and give him a second chance?

This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. the chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Behind closed doors. I loved this book! It was better than I expected. The story had excitement, drama, and plenty of romance. Leo and Lauren meet at a strange time in their lives. Both come to California for a new life. They meet and hit it off not knowing they may not be able to be together because of school. This is a great romance read! The chemistry between Leo and Lauren is off the charts, since the moment they meet in the bar. Leo is divorced, and his friends are encouraging him, to "get back on the horse", so to speak and he sees Lauren. But, things get a little complicated. I loved this story and I love this author with every new book she writes. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Oh Leo and Lauren, you are just so perfect together. Pity you have to go through hell and back just to be together. From the moment they meet, they connect. Such chemistry but only one problem ...he is her teacher. Now the fun begins. It seems fate is trying to keep them apart but their love is so strong. Grab the tissues as you are in for a great read.

The author has given us characters that you can care about. Will they or won't they? These two have so much baggage and drama in their lives that you wonder if they have what it takes for a "happily ever after".

Behind Closed Doors is a taboo romance between a professor and a student. I like that Leo and Lauren met and had one steamy night before realizing that he was her professor. Their story is filled with drama, angst, characters with hot chemistry and an HEA. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Stilted speech that doesn’t flow at all; ok read

I marked multiple errors in the book where improper english was used and the sentences don’t flow. It’s almost like the author was just trying to push the story out. It was a fine romance, but I won’t be reading it again or recommending it to anyone.

The reason for the four stars is because of the typos this book had, it didn't have very many that it took away from the story itself. I actually enjoyed reading this book. This is a first for from this author. I loved how this was a second chance but forbidden love between the characters for the simple it was a professor and his student. I loved the characters.

I forced myself to finish this book. The writing and word usage was super strange. I don’t know if the author is British but that’s the way it seemed. The characters used phrases no one in the US would say, and it’s taking place in CA. Many grammatical errors and spelling errors. Not impressed. The story had potential and was decent at times but not impressed.

Not So Taboo Romance

I liked the story line. I had a hard time with how it was written. Story takes place in California they all come off as almost being British. The words used and such. It seemed to get thicker toward the end.

4 Stars

I gave this 4 stars for the story. At first Lauren seems very immature with her back and forth. Leo is a dream, so romantic. There are tons of editing snafu’s that drive me crazy. Ugh. If you can get past those then yes it’s a good story. I did love it.

Closed book

Sadly I didn’t make it very far into my reading adventure.... the writing was all of the place and honestly I couldn’t read “and stuff” one more time. Kudos to the author for writing a book, but this one needs a heavy edit.

Love never dies

A broken heart and a move across country leads to unexpected and forbidden romance. The psycho ex only adds to the drama along with the surprise that could either bring the lovers together or completely destroy them. Excellent writing. Keeps you wanting more.

Calling all Editors!

The grammar was terrible, the punctuation was intermittent, the sentences were run ones or fragmented. The dialogue was laughable. Did you even try?
