An Artist’s View

This highly personal volume of poetry by academic and world traveler James Boyd emphasizes the observer of life, and shows us the many ways an artist depicts the world. The Japanese mask tilting poem/photographs are a revelation. The music links are on point and the direction of the poetry shows the artist’s role to record life. In the end, this book is a remarkable and touching word painting in its own right, laying bare the world that Boyd has observed and experienced. I highly recommend this book as it teaches us how to observe life.
