This is a wonderful adaptation of Sherlock Holmes. I love how the original plots are translated into late 19th-century HK. It's also reminding me of the first Chinese translation of the Holmes stories by Lin Shu. Also, love how historical events are sown into the fabrics of the story, such as the founding of DBS.
This is an amazing book. The book pays tribute to the original Sherlock Holmes stories but added so much more early HK elements it’s simply ingenious.
The second story for example, I was sure it’s going to be about the adventure of the three garridebs and the red haired league. Turns out the author cranked out a completely different unique and enjoyable story that is uniquely HK but pays tribute to these two original Sherlock stories.
I am simply in awe. As a Sherlock fans I highly recommend this book.
