Knox and Roxy have finally set the date for their wedding, but things won’t go smoothly. There are too many people within the Club who won’t accept Knox—and one woman in particular whose day of reckoning has been a long time coming. Not to mention the outside interference from family. But the most deadly threat of all will come from an unexpected enemy. They’ve been Misled. They’ve been Misunderstood. They’ve been Misguided. Now it’s time to put the past aside and focus on new beginnings. Can the Club put aside differences long enough to defeat the looming threat against them ? Or will Knox and Roxy’s wedding turn into a funeral…?
Prologue
“When you intend to make a honest woman out of my momma-in-law?” For the past two months, Mortician had been posing that question to Knox Harrington on an increasingly regular basis. He felt the pressure. Truth be told, he wanted to marry Roxanne Doucette, Mortician’s “momma-in-law”, and something of a mother figure to not only the women of the Death Dwellers Motorcycle Club, but the men, too. Knox shrugged, his usual answer. The other men at the table sent him various looks of disapproval and displeasure. The club president, Outlaw, lifted a brow at him, the silent question screaming DANGER to Knox. Outlaw discarded three cards, then replaced them in his hand with three from the deck. They were at their weekly get-together, this time held at Mortician and his wife, Bailey’s, house. Roxanne lived in the mother-in-law quarters, where Knox also lived now. The place was small, nothing he was used to; however, it made Roxanne happy so he was more than willing to ignore the lack of space. A burst of female laughter emanated from the den, two doors down the hall from where the men sat in the game room. Knox picked out Roxanne’s robust laughter and couldn’t help but smile. She was such a beautiful, intelligent, vivacious woman. She brought meaning and sunshine to his life. He should want to jump at the chance to marry her. So what was stopping him? He glanced around the table from Mortician, the club enforcer, who loved his dreads, the club, and family, and not necessarily in that order. If something made Bailey unhappy, Mortician went out of his way to change that. And, if Roxanne was unhappy, then most assuredly Bailey would be. The girl simply adored her mother. Knox focused on Johnnie, club VP. He was educated and easy-going, so above the rest of the club—on Knox’s level actually—that Knox wondered why Johnnie didn’t turn in his patch. Recently, he’d separated from his wife. Which pleased Knox to no end. He hated Kendall, and was glad he didn’t have to suffer her presence at the family dinners anymore. Next, he spied on Val, the club’s Road Captain. He was an idiot. Period. Knox turned his attention to Digger, sergeant-at-arms and Mortician’s blood brother. Another idiot, who, so far, hadn’t packed on the pounds with all the eating he’d become known for. Knox moved on to Cash and Stretch, the explosive’s technician and secretary/treasurer respectively, as well as husbands to each other, and boyfriends to Outlaw’s sister, Ophelia. And her baby daddies to her two kids. Cash might’ve been on-level with Knox and Johnnie, except he’d tied himself to Ophelia and Stretch, Pushover One and Pushover Two. And, finally, there was Outlaw. King of Criminals, Jerks, and Assholes… There was his answer, Knox realized. He hadn’t proposed to Roxanne because of them.
I am slowly but surely learning to manage my time more effectively and getting back to writing and connecting with everyone. I'm not completely there yet, but it is slowly coming together. Misled and Misappropriate have been updated with additional chapters and POVs from a couple more characters. Both books have about 30,000 more words and new covers. I have new covers for all the books in the series. Recently Misled placed first in the Mystery, Suspense, and Thriller category on Chick Lit Cafe. The paperback will also be included in an upcoming Reveal Book Box. While working on Reckless, I am also updating the text in the original series. About Reckless - It will be filled with death and destruction, as usual. However, I will admit to being slightly shocked myself at some of the turn of events taking place. I have restarted my newsletter with a new name, KatChats. Until the end of the year, I plan to send it out weekly because of all the news I have to share. After that, I will switch to monthly. I also have a new website. It should be online in a couple of days once the domain transfer completes. I also have a website dedicated to the Death Dwellers. It is still in its early stages, but it is live: https://deathdwellersmc.com. Meanwhile, if you have any questions, please send them my way.
Kathryn C. Kelly is a New Orleans native who has called southeast Texas home since 2005. She had intended to travel the world but always return to her beloved New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina had other plans. She is the mother of three beautiful daughters and the daughter of one gorgeous mother whose footsteps she followed in by becoming a writer. Kathryn is the former owner and editor of Inside Rose Rich Magazine. She and her mother have been published by Jove Books as Christine Holden. The books have long been out of print but they got the rights back to the five novels and have plans to re-release them soon. Kathryn is a cancer survivor. In 2010, she felt a small lump in her breast. In 2015, at the urging of her mother, she went in for her bi-yearly mammogram and was diagnosed with Stage 2b/3a HER2 positive breast cancer. On November 30, 2016, she rang the bell. During her treatment, she was also diagnosed with Li-Fraumeni Syndrome. In 2013, Christopher "Outlaw" Caldwell introduced himself to Kat in the most cliché way ever. He came to her in a dream. After the inauspicious meeting, he planted himself in her mind and the motherf...the gentleman hasn't left yet. In what was only supposed to be one book about the fictitious Death Dwellers MC, Outlaw has become a source of amusement, a well of frustration, and a bone of contention between Kat and one of her daughters. She is hard at work on Reckless, the book that will bridge the OGs with a new generation of Death Dwellers. Her work has been included in several anthologies and she is looking forward to other upcoming single title releases, including Savage Suit from the Cocky Hero Club World created by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. She is a former RWA member. She also served as Vice President for the SOLA chapter of RWA. She is a New Orleans Saints fan, but roots for the Texans, the Rockets, and the Coogs (U of H) as long as they aren't playing any Louisiana teams. She loves champagne and sparkling wine. One day, she will try Snoop's brand. She still loves Chivas Regal but had a chance to taste Sassenach Scotch. A #lifegoal is to one day buy herself an entire bottle and keep it all for herself. In her head, she is a biker babe with a Harley in her garage, waiting for her to hit the road. In reality, she has yet to hop on a bike and ride. She loves Cards Against Humanity, has very strong opinions that she keeps to herself, has to take her time to talk in public so nothing untoward pops out, and always strives to see the best in people and in life.
Whew!! What an ending to the Death Dwellers MC!! You get caught up with the couples and we get to see Knox pull himself together for Roxy. Crazy twists along the way make this an exceptional story. And of course Kendall adds the necessary drama!
Hi everyone, if anyone sees that I gave my book one star, that isnt the case! 😂😂 on my screen, in community reviews, it is showing i gave the book 1 star and i cant change it. I dont know if it is a glitch or not but i just wanted to clarify in case anyone else sees it.
Knox and Roxy are ready to set a date for their wedding but when Mort pushes his way in for a double wedding wedding all hell breaks loose with the guys not getting along with Knox and Knox thinks he is better than everyone else because he comes from money. Kendall days are coming to a head but will she saved in time? Let me just say I stayed up until this early morning to finish this last book in the Death Dweller Series and Kat didn't disappoint me and I am going to say I am glad the way she did things in this book and I'm not one to feel sorry for someone in it but wow my heart hurt for this person. It has so many twist and turns and blows that it keeps you hooked and wanting to see what happens next. Congratulations on such an Amazing book and I am so saddened that it was the end of the Death Dweller series. I will forever love Outlaw And Johnnie.
I love this series! I love this author! I love these characters! I even love to hate one of these characters. Ive enjoyed reading this so much. Humor, darkness, love, family and steamy sex. It’s all here in this series that pulls no punches. It is with a heavy heart that we leave this generation of the club. I can’t wait to see what comes next with the kids’ books. But my favorite thing about this series is that it brought me two dear friends. Kat and Tamalama, I adore you both and we will always be Team Kendall! Go Big Red!
The perfect ending to a fantastic series!! If you have enjoyed the Death Dwellers series you are not going to want to mis the conclusion. We get a glimpse of all the previous couples and where their lives have ended up. We also get to see if Roxie and Knox can make things work, if Johnnie will finally get his gonads back and just how much more the old ladies and Megan can take from Kendall!! Just one click this book, you won’t be disappointed!
K love this series. I have read it several times. Each character has individual personalities and story. As much as I tried but still hate Kendall. Yeah she has an illness but all the hater and nastiness
Isn"t just from that. That kind of hatefulness goes deep . Love Megan and Outlaw. Cj is a hoot. Thanks so much
What a way to end the Death Dwellers series! I really liked Knox and Roxy's story. Knox proposes and all he'll breaks loose. It has some twists and turns, and I couldn't wait to see what happened. I received this ARC in return for an honest review.
As usual, Kathryn Kelly delivered an amazing story with this latest book in her Death Dwellers MC series.
Misrule was mostly about Knox and Roxanne and how badly Knox continually messed up their relationship. At the same time it was multilayered like always and revolved around the entire club family. Just for the record Outlaw will forever be my main man but I was ecstatic at getting to catch up with all of my beloved Death Dwellers. I felt invested in the lives of these characters and truly worried for some of them as they overcame the many troubles and intense situations that Kat Kelly had woven into their journey. I hung on every word as I seemed to hear Outlaw's voice in my head saying nobody messes with his woman and lives to tell about it.
This is and always will be one of my top favorite series of all time. Kat Kelly's writing is absolutely brilliant with characters who simply came alive in my mind and pulled me into the gritty dynamic world of the Death Dwellers MC. Love them or hate them and sometimes you will love to hate them. One thing you will never do is forget them. I fell in love with Outlaw and Megan way back in the first book and continued to hang on every trial in their truly epic love story. They remain my favorite couple of the entire series, but really I loved every one of the others almost as much, with each book always leaving me anticipating the next one.
Misrule was a fantastic read ! It had everything that hooked me on this series in the first book and this time everyone got their much deserved happy ending. The most special part for me was what the author saved for last .....
This is a series that no reader should miss !
This is my honest opinion about a book and series. I was gifted a complimentary copy of this book for voluntary review.
This one is mainly about Roxy and Knox along with all our favorites. Knox messes up in a big way and everyone has Their own take as to how to handle the situation. Yes, there are beatdowns. Outlaw is up to his usual shenanigans dealing with Kendall and Johnnie and their very dysfunctional situation. Outlaw makes a very serious decision regarding Meggie and his family. It was sad to end this series but somewhere down the road we will get the second generation. Kat did a wonderful job tying up the loose ends giving most of the couple's a HEA or more like happy as they're gonna be. This book was longer than your usual books and I appreciate all the work and dedication Kat put into it. It is definitely worth your time. You won't be disappointed!
Just wow! Misrule is full of chaos from personal to club related. The family discord is thick. You’ll never guess the twist and turns in this book and that kept me turning the pages. The contrast in dialogue is brilliant. The dialect was different for me but the more I read I loved it. This is a gritty read not a soft motorcycle club romance. Roxy is hardened from years with the club but she has a good heart and she loves hard. She has a loyalty to the club that she only puts the love of her family above. Knox is an arrogant man who thinks he’s above the club lifestyle and members. Knox was not a favorite character of mine. The only question left is if Roxy and Knox can adjust to come out on the other side of this storm. Great job Kathryn C. Kelly!
Loved this story...I was not a fan of Knox's but by the end of this he won me over. Outlaw is and will continue to be a favorite character of mine, no matter how many books I read! Still don't like Kendall but got a glimpse of Meggie's personality that was a long time coming.
Make sure you have time when starting to read this book - it's long and you won't want to put it down. I found myself going back a page or two and rereading to make sure I got the story line right as there is a lot going on in these pages.
This was an amazing fast paced, action packed, intense finale to the Death Dwellers MC series. Lots of twists and turns throughout will keep you on the edge of your seat. The characters are all terrific and it was great to see how their stories unfold. Knox and Roxy are a fantastic couple and even though they have some hiccups along the way, their love stays true.
This is definitely the ending that you don't want to miss. Fantastic writing.
Another great read! You can't go wrong with the Death Dwellers MC, it has EVERYTHING you could want in a MC novel. Roxy and Knox have come CA long way to finally have their Happy Ever After, Outlaw is Outlaw! There is just so much in this book that it keeps you on the edge of your seat and you can't put it down! So sad to see the series end but excited to see what the next generation brings!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I am between sad and waving pom-poms as the series has now finished. Another brilliant read from Kat who never fails to deliver. So much happens that I cannot quote without leaving a spoiler, all I would say its a more that satisfactory conclusion to the series.
A phenomenal ending to a fantastic series. With glimpses of all the couples, Knox and Roxy getting married, and schemes, you can't help but be sad that this is the end. It was perfect, I laughed, cried, and fell more in love with Outlaw, than before. I can't wait to see what the next generation of Death Dwellers will be like.
This was a fantastic ending to this series. With its twist, turns laughable moments. It was great to see the gang again. You did an amazing job with characters even though one character I could do without. They come full circle. Cant wait for the next generation.
I cried at the end of this amazing series! What a ride it's been, from start to finish. And then I smiled when I read that the second generation is coming! I can't wait to hear about all the kids and know their stories. If they are anything like their parents; mayhem, chaos, and of course love will insure more sleepless page-turning nights for me and I can't wait!!
I loved this book. I will miss this series but I'm excited to start the next generation. Love CJ and can't wait to read his book. Reading this just makes me want to start at the beginning again . If you have not read this series you are missing out. Congratulations MS. Kelly on a fantastic book and series.
A great ending to a awesome series. A page turner you will not be able to put down. Those twist and turns in all their stories continue, keeps you guessing what will they do next. Great build up, great action, great love, and great conclusion!!
Great ending to an amazing series. It's bittersweet because I never wanted it to end, but I am excited to read the second generation. I went into reading Misrule hoping it went a certain way and I have to say I am glad it ended the way it did.
I love this series!! I love all the characters except the villains and Kendall. Misrule brings us the best Outlaw comebacks. I want more of these books. Outlaw is my all-time favorite character!!
I enjoyed reading it but I feel like it was missing something. I love this series, so I don't think I can leave a review right now, as I just finished the book and need time to come out of my book coma since I have been reading for hours. I will say it was worth reading.
WHOA!!! MISRULE by Kathryn C. Kelly left Me with My Jaw Dropped!! What an Suspenseful Epic Book in Which I Couldn't NOT Put Down & DEVOURED it!! It was an Amazingly Explosion of Adventure I DID NOT SEE COMING!! A MUST READ BOOK/SERIES!!
