Sabrina is at the heart of the case and one thing leads to another. Now Sabrina Daley becomes a Cozy mystery star in this collection of murders in her home town.
The evidence in these cases points to confessions. Sabrina and her police officer boyfriend help us navigate a town of mystery. Bad feelings can lead to murder. Secrets are a way to find enemies. Everyone doesn't want their dirty laundry out in the open.
This is an enjoyable series. Each story is different from the previous. Recommended for a light-hearted car listen.
I bought this set because I remembered reading this author's work before. Unfortunately, I didn't remember how much it annoyed me. She often gives the characters' exact ages and often heights as well. Who has that information about everyone they meet? Not necessary, and approximations would be more realistic. After a murder, the main character, Sabrina, and her detective boyfriend, David, interview suspects together, also abnormal. They both act as if each suspect is guilty and they are both very disappointed when no one confesses, but instead stops talking after being being pushed and insulted to the limits of patience. A lot of the dialog between Sabrina and David is complaining about the suspects' lack of cooperation. Sabrina runs into people in town who have been suspects in previous cases and still haven't forgiven her for accusing them of murder. In real life, I could foresee a time when no one would cooperate becauseof unjust accusations toward themselves or any of their acquaintances. In "Caramels with a Side of Murder, " Sabrina finds a guitar pick at the home of the second murder victim and realizes whodunit. After being browbeaten sufficiently to become uncontrollably angry, the murderer does indeed confess. There are few clues, little plot to speak of and the dialog is mostly pointless. I am moving on.
4 stars overall Caramels With A Side Of Murder: 4 Apple Pie With A Side Of Murder: 4 Lemon Bars With A Side Of Murder: 4 Cookies With A Side Of Murder: 3 Halloween Candy With A Side Of Murder: 3 Christmas Cookies with a Side of Murder: 4 Gelato with a Side of Murder: 4 Chocolate Cake with a Side of Murder: 4
Overall, a good cozy series. The auxiliary plots may be more interesting than the primary ones. I don't recommend binge-reading or listening. The stories, while entertaining, get repetitive. Typically no forensic evidence. Four to six suspects. A first pass of unsuccessful interrogations with suspects pointing the finger at each other. The sleuths are worn out by the end of the day with nothing much to show for it. The next round of interrogations is about making somebody so emotional that they reveal something important or confess. The reader is rarely ever given enough information to deduce the culprit. Nonetheless, the stories are individually entertaining: just not all at once. The details are radically different with each story. Just space them out and take your time.
A whole lot happens in this box set. Sabrina and David solve a whole lot of murders and advance their romantic relationship while celebrating the holidays and eating lots of sweet stuff. In addition, Sabrina finally finds out what happens to her sister and Jake the real estate tycoon finally gets his comeuppance as a couple of the underlying plot lines get resolved. I'll admit that these stories are often a bit formulaic as we follow the couple from interview to interview in their efforts to track down the real culprit but it's always entertaining to try to second guess them and to beat them to the solution and getting the entire saga in one neat, tidy package is both economical and convenient. If you like getting your cozy mysteries in large, economy size boxes, this is the series for you.
Treasure Cove is a nice little town but it seems to be a magnet for murderers. Sabrina and her boyfriend, Detective David Carlson, have their hands full in this eight-book set as they work to solve cases. The suspects rarely have alibis and the murderers almost never leave clues. It’s a good thing there are always plenty of desserts and good food to provide the brain-food to unravel the cases.
This is a good, clean cozy mystery series. Sabrina and David are likable characters and Snickerdoodle is always there to support Sabrina. I am really enjoying this series by Meredith Potts.
Treasure Cove is a lovely small town and The Daley Buzz is the local coffee and sweets shop run by Sabrina's family. Sabrina is kind of a police consultant as the town has such a limited budget for law enforcement and her long time boyfriend, David, is the only police detective and often needs her for female representation as well as particular insights. Unfortunately, murder happens in small towns, too, and this series covers eight of them over a period of time. Yes, each is solved by this quiet duo.
Wonderful reading! This series of cozy mysteries was entertaining and amazing. These eight stories were enlightening as well. I have read books by MS Meridth potts before! I always enjoy the way she always brings the ending to a halt by solving each crime!!
I like to read the cozys from # 1 onward. The first book in this series was disapointing as it appears to start with the second book. You do get snippets of what occured previously but it was not enough for me so I returned the set without reading anymore.

That phrase drove me crazy. The book series was very entertaining. Got to know the characters really well. Very good read , no swearing, or sexual talk.
Well written mysteries shining light on police harrassment but with a positive spin. Although the story is good, it is very hard to read with the main characters being the average bully that is so frowned upon. Such a shame as the series would have been great save for this extremely uncomfortable feeling for all the other characters. Definitely makes for hard reading
Oh man, this town went from peaceful and quiet to a Murrer around every corner. I don’t know what’s in the water there but I don’t think I want any! This series is so fun to listen to and the characters are so smart and witty. I loved listening to this and will be looking for more of these books.
These eight short mystery stories really are well written and narrated. Each is set in the coastal town of Treasure Cove and feature Sabrina, the amateur sleuth, and her police detective partner. The standalone stories require a mysterious death being resolved, despite many twists and turns and the guilty brought to justice. The characters are all fully formed and locations well described. These are light reading but do keep the listener suitably intrigued throughout.
This is the first bundle in the series. I enjoy reading series in order. It helps you get to know the characters better. I am loving her grandmother. She has a lot of energy.
I really enjoyed this series, yeah there are a few irks like repetitive phrase's, the fact that Sabrina is a better detective than her boyfriend and the fact she never seems to actually work at her coffee shop....
But these are books where you can get lost into for a few hours without over thinking it, the stories are clean romance with cozy murder mystery to boot and some books you have an idea who the culprit will be but in others it left me wondering.
Overall a great little series that you will either love or hate - personally I loved it despite its irks.
Daley Buzz Cozy Mystery Series was a great read by Meredith Potts. This was another great series by Meredith Potts. It consists of eight books that follow Sabrina Daley's amateur sleuthing. Caramels with a Side of Murder, Apple Pie with a Side of Murder, Lemon Bars with a Side of Murder, Cookies with a Side of Murder, Halloween Candy with a Side of Murder, Christmas Cookies with a Side of Murder, Gelato with a Side of Murder, and Chocolate Cake with a Side of Murder. I enjoyed reading Sabrina's story and can't wait to read more by Meredith Potts.
Daley Buzz Cozy Mystery Series is a great bundle of listens! This is an incredible value getting so many (8) books in one set. Meredith Potts has created a wonderful character of Sabrina Daley that appears in each story. She is a modern day sleuth that has a panache for solving crimes. Each book is a quick cozy listen and is standalone. Lisa Beacom is magical bringing the characters to life. She adds the right emotions that add to my enjoyment. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.
After reading all the books in this collection i couldn't miss a lookout of similarities in the wording of conversations between Sabrina and David and the interviews. I might not have noticed as much of i had allowed time to pass between stories.
That said, the main characters are realistic and friendly, and the suspects are argumentative and uncooperative, which makes for good vs evil stories. I will continue to read this author, who has.org stories set in Treasure Choice. It will be interesting to see where she goes with the people in the stories.
Sabrina Daley runs a coffee shop with her mom and grandmother. On the side, she solves murders with her detective boyfriend David. These 8 books run through her relationship with David til he asks her to marry him. Each mystery is fun, and unlike a lot of Cozy Mysteries, Sabrina is not relationship challenged. Each of Sabrina's mysteries, I got to know more about Sabrina, and she always was careful and didn't do foolish things. Sabrina is a woman that I loved getting to know. The narrator does an excellent job with the voices and makes it easy to get into the story.
This was a series of 8 books, where Sabrina and her cop/boyfriend solve murders in their small town. The stories were good, but as the couple questioned suspects every one in every story was pretty much the same. All the same answers: I didn't do it, I don't know why you don't believe me, so and so had a better motive. And I wondered if Sabrina ever worked at her job at "the family coffee shop" . It was the same phrasing, over and over. Sorry to be so negative, I've read other books by the author and liked them.
Standard fare in this series. Ms. Daley follows her police detective boyfriend around and helps solve murders. Unbelievably she interviews suspects, expects and gets the police to give her free access to confidential reports, and monitors the detective's location at all times. A nice break from standard police procedurals, but predictable and at times tiresome. I was gifted this from the author.
I did enjoy these cozy mysteries. Reading them one after another, it was easy to note a similarity in the stories and descriptions of the characters. I’m sure it wouldn’t be so noticeable if they were read one at a time with other books in between them. However I still very much enjoyed them!
After reading a series of very suspenseful psychological books, my mind needed a break. I was blessed with ARC audible copies of the Daley Buzz Cozy Mystery series and loved them. True to form they are a mystery, however they are also fun.
The books were good. To read the whole series brought your attention to the repeated wording. A book or two inbetween would have made the similar wording not as obvious. But still good!
