Laying Down the Ahhhh!

Rate this book
Someone started a rumor that Ataraxia Ålesund Idlewild was your average woman. That was a damn lie or, as they call it these days, ‘fake news.’ There was nothing average about her and that included her courage, essence, and vision. A deep thinker, she continuously pondered the condition of all things and ways to improve them. A doer, she didn’t settle for doing one thing when there was a whole world for her to try out. A serial plotter, she always had a backup plan for the backup plan on a spreadsheet, and notes in alphabetical order with bullet points. There was nothing average about her…or her family who all possessed a gene that caused them to iron creases in their attire like the survival of humanity depended on it. Despite their fancy titles and accolades, they knew people who knew people who didn’t mind being blood-splattered for a good cause. And what better cause than her douche of an about-to-be ex-husband who had the unmitigated gall to **** his jumpoff in their bed and then attempt to move her into their house in an effort to make her leave. As effing if. Despite her fearlessness, her heart could only take so much. She was absolutely, positively, definitely never―in this lifetime or any other―getting married again.

Theodoric Ermenrich didn’t have everything. That’s a lie, he pretty much did because he had a shit ton of money and money bought things including beautiful women, corporate friendly policies, and verdicts when necessary. And then one day, he met the challenge that money couldn’t purchase. Ataraxia. She barely gave him the time of day but she did give him the truth and with it came humility and real understanding. He now understood that while he was still young-ish, he wouldn’t live forever. He understood that he didn’t want to squander the last forty years of his life the same way he’d squandered the first thirty-eight years. He understood desperation. He was desperate for that woman’s love because when you had that, what else did you need?

For once, he was grateful that his family was chock-full of characters, including a five-time kumite champion, a derrickman, and a SWAT team member (and those were just the women). It was going to take all of them to help him win over the lovely Ataraxia. Despite what he said, he was absolutely, positively, definitely, marrying that woman―in this lifetime, and any that came after.

Two pens...one-of-a-kind adventures...zero apologies.

A kickazz tag-team bound together by the pen, Jeanie (the shagalicious wordslinger) and Jayha (the literary badazz) are forces of nature that will either leave you begging for mercy or begging for more.

We are women who have brains we aren't afraid to use; feelings we aren't afraid to express; and, middle fingers that we aren’t afraid to extend. We pen stories that push all kinds of boundaries and we don’t apologize for it. Our heroines are feisty; our heroes are hot, and our stories are one-of-a-kind adventures.

I was 58% into this book, but whatever the main premise of the book is, I am unable to articulate. I found the book to be very boring, and the first half was highly implausible IMHO. I hated to abandon the book, but I just couldn't labor on. Perhaps I will consider trying another book by this author in the distant future.

What a different storyline

Ataraxia Alesund Idlewild as a very intelligent, feisty, strong, and speaks her mind kind of woman. She survived the ultimate betrayal of her husband Bucheron in the worst way. She not only survived but she thrived because of it. His ugly betrayal provided her the opportunity to chart a different course for herself and brought her into the life of Theodoric Ermenrich and his son Wolftram. After her marriage to Bucheron, she did not ever want another man in her life and concentrated on her new consulting job and her education. But She didn’t need a man, but Theodoric wasn’t just any man. He was a man who made her so damn glad that she was single.

This was the first time I’ve read anything by these collaborating authors and it won’t be the last. I like the way they write. They had me seeing red and I could feel the steam coming out of my ears reading about the gaul of Bucheron and his side piece. The authors took a very heartbreaking topic and turned it into something I found myself laughing my head off at the way Ataraxia was able to get Bucheron and his side piece jumpoff THOT out of the house with the help of her wild friends and both sets of her parents. She did not bite her tongue for anyone and was not afraid to voice her opinion to anyone. That was what attracted Theodoric to her, especially after she read his son the riot act. She was the first woman he met that was not interested in his money but him as a person. He got me when he told Ataraxia “I want to know everything about the woman like how she looks when she first opens her eyes and realizes how well she slept after sharing a bed with me. If her bedsheets smell like her hair or her skin. And how they’d smell after I laid in them with her. If she cuddles as well as she hugs... How her heart feels beating against my back, and how my heart would feel when I felt that.” WOW. You could have bowled me over with a feather. UMPH UMPH UMPH! Phew!

The only thing I did not like about this story is that I wanted to know what happened to Bucheron and his side piece Isabelle. I so wanted to read about karma kicking them in the but. She was such a vial nasty creature who deserved a good azz kicking.

A lovely mess

The intelligence, strength , fun and love these women out into words is out standing. I loved how all of the family came in and loved fully and learned some Jesus on the ex and his whore.
I went through anger, disbelief, compassion, love and truth. She had to take this journey to find the truth of who she is to the one who loves her without question.
If you want to laugh, love, cry and cause may-os at least once a week, read this story. I suggest reading earlier stories in order to truly appreciate this group of serious Tom foolery.
