soccer summer reading, reading level was meant for middle schoolers. If you're older than that, find a more grown up book.

I am reviewing the book She the Confident written by Shay Haddow. This book was written by a Division One soccer player who struggled with confidence and a good mindset. These issues started occurring at age thirteen when she tore her ACL. She struggled with this for the rest of her soccer career and nearly quit playing, her sophomore year of highschool. However, she decided to go to their last tournament of the season and leave it all on the field. She played great, and was confident in herself and her skills. After her soccer career, she became a speaker on confidence and mindset for female athletes, as well as a coach. The author's objective is to educate women in sports on the importance of confidence and a good mindset. The author's main arguments and focuses are that you create your own mindset, confidence leads to success, and creating good habits is crucial. I think that the author did a very good job proving these points by providing personal examples and tips and having many steps to get yourself in the right headspace. The author does a good job of instructing the reader and giving every day instances in which they can improve their confidence levels. Unlike other books I’ve read, She The Confident speaks directly to the reader as it guides them through the journey of self confidence. Overall, I enjoyed this book and took away a lot of helpful information. I would rate it a four out of five stars.

What a gameplan!

Over the past two years I saw my school aged daughters confidence tank and become nonexsistant. My brilliant girls believed she didn't belong because she couldn't read (finally diagnosed with dislexia) this soon carried over to the soccer field. After reading this book, I feel lile I have a game plan to help her change her mindset. Hopeing to say good bye to negative Nacey and get my daughter back on track.
