Mangla Bhoot, a merchant navy captain, has been awarded two chances in life. Not afraid of backing down, he grabs them both. But does he find ultimate happiness?
Oh no, Captain! gives us an intimate portrayal of an otherwise often misunderstood, often overlooked section of society.
Its a short read that you can finish in like two hours. For me, the book was absolutely heartbreaking. Chapters after chapters, the more I read into the story of Cap. Mangla Bhoot and Dr. Samyukta, I could feel my heart sink more and more. The story of Samyukta felt like the story of almost every third girl in our society. Despite being such an educated and learned doctor, she found herself battling with domestic abuse and torture. I was so wretched to see her going through all that. Mangla Bhoot's story on the other hand felt even more hurtful. Yet after everything, the book promises hope. Its basically a story that tells you that life will always bring you moments that break your heart but it will also give you time to heal it. Apart from that, it also focused on the life of sailors and the hardships they go through. All in all, the book would keep you wanting to read more. It was heartbreaking but definitely a worthy read!
