I was given a free copy of this book by the author in exchange for my fair review of the book. Id say i loved aboit 95% of the stories in this book; my only real gripe was as soon as the stories got really good they were over. My favorites that i would love to see expanded to at least novella length books are Nocturnal Nanny, The Cemetery, Gracie, My House is Haunted, The Stalker, We Will Return, The Dream Whisperer, Unknown Number, Nanny, and Cold Blooded.

My favorites were 'Nocturnal Nanny' (all parts) and 'Someone is Stealing my Stories.' Each tale weaves an immersive atmosphere with sometimes violent, sometimes just plain creepy consequences. There are also those that leave the author in suspense and others that are somewhat endearing in a chilling way. Very creative and very well-written.

Did not enjoy
Each story left me dissatisfied, I gave up after the story about the dolls, which was one of the better ones but still wasn't satisfying. The ones that were really bad were written poorly and just left me feeling puzzled, wondering, "That's it?"

Nocturnal Nightmares by Melody Grace is a set of forty two individual scary stories. This set of stories are all mostly unrelated though the first three featured are all about a nanny’s different strange jobs. Some of these are ghost stories, others are based on urban legends, cryptids, frightening creatures, scary real life situations with a twist, or just things that go bump in the night. I loved that each individual story is a bite sized read that can be enjoyed quickly while on break or your waiting in line. This is the perfect book for someone looking for a quick entertaining read that will might make you jump in surprise, look around you in fear, or just think about what that knocking noise might mean. These are just the right kind of stories that any reader of horror and suspense will love. Nocturnal Nightmares is an suspenseful collection of scary stories.

A lot of these stories have a sort of Twilight Zone feel to them. You know, where you think you know where the story is going then it completely changes on you. The Stalker was probably my favorite story. There are some very sick individuals out there and the author seems to be able to understand how they think. Not for children.
