Abi Button gets involved with the lazy nephews and nieces of their elderly uncle who lived in the creepy house at the far end of her road. Isaac Whittard Magritte Newton, to give him his full name, has set a cryptic clue in his will for the siblings to solve. The will says the first nephew or niece who can solve the clue is going to be extremely wealthy, but the puzzle seems unbreakable. The old man once set crossword puzzles for two of the national newspapers, and other puzzles for various magazines. Abi, with her modest skills in cryptic crosswords, has to admit defeat. Also on Abi’s mind, perhaps as a matter of greater importance than solving the clue that will help four squabbling siblings, is her developing friendship with junior solicitor Danny Wells. She wonders if she has at last found the right man. Melanie Upton ‒ Abi’s co-owner of Button Up coffee shop ‒ assures Abi that this one is definitely a keeper. But as Abi points out, Melanie says the same thing about every man Abi gets to know.

It's very much an enjoyable read!! The Cryptic puzle really got me as I was trying to figure it out myself. That was a surprise earlier on, and I did not see it coming, but it was a cute surprise.

Cozy mystery romance

I enjoyed the book, but not as much as the first one of the series. For one thing, there were a lot more editing mistakes in this book. Danny kept calling his boss 'Mr Wells' when he in fact is Mr.Wells. His boss is Mr. Waters. How could that slip by an editor? Anyway I'll probably read the next book in the series.

Abi and Danny

Abi and Danny have been seeing one another for a while now and she's hoping they take it to the next level. Danny has a puzzle for her to help him with that involves Mr. Issac Newton and his house- oh no not that house. For as long as she can remember she has called it the Creepy Castle! Everyone of her friends thinks it is haunted! Now Danny wants her to not only help him solve, but not find, the treasure that Mr. Newton has given to his four worthless nephews and neices. What will Abi do? Will she go inside the house? Will she be forced to spend a night there with Danny and one of the nieces and her boyfriend? What happens to Pete and his girlfriend? So much excitement! You will not want to miss this book by Lizzie Lewis!

This was my first Lizzie Lewis book. It stars Ali Button, a 32 year old co-owner of Button Up Coffee Shop. Her boyfriend, Danny Wells is a junior solicitor. Most of the book centers around the cryptic clue in Isaac Whittard Magritte Newton's will. Newton left instructions that whichever one of his four nieces and nephews solved the riddle, would become wealthy. For me, this book didn't seem to have a good flow to it. I did enjoy the characters and the plot.

poetry and mayhem

This is a story about Abi Button who is a co-owner of a coffee shop/restaurant. She is dating an attorney and in the course of the story he proposes. The story centers around a will of a client who has left a cryptic clue leading to an inheritance. It starts a little slow but gets better as it goes on. I enjoyed reading it.

Fun read

I enjoy Lizzie Lewis' stories and the little cryptic puzzles in this one. I do however wish she would not copy long explanations from previous books in the series - i.e. the mill housing, the outfits for ButtonUp, etcetera. She has enough in her present story to leave those out since they serve no purpose here.

Trying to figure out whether I like Abi Button

Rather predictable but an easy quick read. This is the second book in the series I've read and seeing as the series was free I feel it's a good read.

Low 3

The puzzle element made this one a bit better than the first. Also the MC seemed less annoying here. But it was still pretty blah to read and didn't function well as a distraction for me.

Very cool mystery!

An older neighbor passes away & his will is definitely something to behold! He has 2 nephews & 2 nieces. He calls them spineless scroungers & many other not so nice words. In reality, one is very different & sweet. A must read for romance & mystery lovers.

Another good book only better

This is another interesting mystery and good romance. I like the way the author portrays the different stages of spiritual growth and makes it an easy part of the story.

Poetry and Mayhem

Abigail Button is a kind and helpful character. She is asked to help solve a cryptic puzzle. This is the second book in the series, but can be read without reading the first book. It is well written and I enjoyed reading the book.

Ugh

Honestly I struggled getting thru the book not because it's badly written but because I really hate Abi she's a self involved, wedding obsessed annoyance. Also how did she go from 5'4" in the first book to 5'7" in the second?

Cute story

This is the second book. Gave it a shot in the hope that church would play as prominent a role. Too preachy a series for me to read the other books. Feels like a recruitment poster for the Catholic Church.

Good book

This books does deserve to be read. I found it a bit of a chore to get started, but once I did it was like okey an oyster with pearl of a good and amusing plot.

Good

The humor was off, and the editing was poorly done. In the beginning of the book, it seemed that Waters and Wells was interchangeable. The book is actually pretty good with likable characters and an interesting plot. Just not my kind of book.
