What happens when a werewolf meets his mate, only to discover the man he has waited his life for already belongs to someone else?
Werewolf Cody Morgan is summoned home from New York to Texas by his elder brother and alpha Kelan, and immediately knows that visiting alpha Stefan Drake is his soul mate.
However, Cody's newfound happiness is short-lived after he discovers Stefan has a wife and son.
Cody's life becomes further complicated when Stefan's brother-in-law shows up and challenges Stefan's position as alpha.
Are there too many obstacles to overcome or is true love worth taking a chance on?
Reader Advisory: The books in this series are written in chronological order so they are best enjoyed when read in sequence as part of the series. ***Please note*** This series has been previously published-this is an updated version with a new cover.
Lavinia discovered reading at an early age and could always be found with her nose in a book. She loved getting lost in a fantasy world even then. When her parents bought her a typewriter for Christmas at aged eleven, her fate was sealed. She spent hours dreaming up characters and creating stories. Not a lot has changed.
Lavinia is a Welsh Valley girl who has lived all over the UK. Today she lives at home in the small village in which she grew up, just outside of Cardiff, Wales, but ask her again tomorrow and it could very well be somewhere different. She has travelled extensively to places as far and wide as Africa, Asia, Australia, North and Central America and most of Europe. Although some of her books are set in Texas she has never stepped foot in the state but plans to spend time there in the near future. She is a proud Brit, but feels quite at home when visiting the grand ol’ USofA.
Although Lavinia is a huge fan of the romance genre, particularly M/M she will admit to reading anything and everything. She loves horror, a good thriller and if a book has the capacity to make her cry, well, all the better. She loves a gritty, angst-ridden, gut-wrenching story, but is more than happy to settle in with a lighter, fluffier tale. She loves a happy ending and the characters in her books have thus far been lucky enough to find one. She can’t guarantee that will always be the case. She has two cats and wouldn’t part with them for the world, even though they make her sneeze.
Lavinia also writes M/F romance under the pseudonym Amy Armstrong.
This is a great continuation of Luke's Surprise. I don’t really consider it a sequel since it takes place at the same time as Luke's Surprise.
I love Cody and it was great seeing what was going on with him during Luke’s book. This story had a lot more development of the wolf packs and their politics. I don’t want to spoil anything but this ones plot seemed to go much faster and had a lot more suspense and plot twists. Once I started reading I was hooked and couldn’t put the book down.
As I said I loved loved Cody, his mate, Stefan took longer for me to like because of something’s he failed to mention to Cody.
Overall it was a great story and a fun, sweet read so 5 stars
I have to say, I enjoyed this one more than Luke's Surprise.
Cody and Stefan, I thought, were a great couple. Cody's the artistic omega while Stefan is the strong, confident alpha. I liked how they still had some quirks, though. Like Stefan had this adorable little thing he did whenever he was embarrassed or a bit nervous he'd look down at the ground. I just thought it was so cute. And I really liked how they met. I loved how shocked Cody was, I couldn't help but smile. I definitely like these two. I really liked Leah and Aaron, too. Aaron just cracked me up! Him and his teenage hormones gave this book a lightness to it I really enjoyed.
Devlin, sheesh, Devlin was probably as crazy as Ethan was in Luke's Surprise but for a totally different reason. I mean, this psychotic idiot came all the way from New Mexico so he could fight Stefan. What kind of crazy person does that?! Anyway, he made the book liven up with suspense. I hated him. He was a greedy douche bag who only wanted more power and corrupted other people. Learning a bit more about the were society intrigued me a great deal because we didn't get much of that in Luke's book so seeing the Council and what happens when an alpha is challenged interested me a lot.
Although I did like the story, I had one or two questions. There was also a bit too much sex for my liking.
Overall, I quite liked this book. I thought it was a great continuation to the Shifter's Haven series. I'm looking forward to the others in the series. Definitely recommended :D
I was nervous starting this knowing Stefan had a wife/kid, but it turned out even better than the 1st one. Cody was a badass taking on that alpha. I can't wait for Aaron's book!
I liked Cody's Revelation even more than I liked Luke's Surprise. I feel like the story is solid and Lavinia's writing had me hooked. I read this in one sitting. Even though this is technically a series book, the timeline is the same as in Luke's Surprise and I have to say that it was refreshing to read a series that way. One thing that I would personally like to praise Ms. Lewis on is that, unlike several authors that are currently writing shifter books in this genre, there was nothing weak about Cody who was the physically smaller mate. He was not a simpering, giggling, whining, pouting, crying, 5 foot tall mate. He was smaller than his mate Stephan who is the alpha of his own pack but his determination, character and personality was just as strong as Stephan's and I truly enjoyed that. Cody brought his own strengths to his relationship with Stephan and wouldn't back down when his mate's life was in danger. I also think that there well developed secondary characters and I LOVED the fact that Leah was sweet and accepting of Cody. This was an excellent book and I am so looking forward to Kelan's book next!
Cody's Revelation was one of the most touching stories I have read. In the beginning I thought I was going to ring Stefan's neck when I found out he was married and had a son, but when the story unfolds and you learn the truth of what happened it made me fall for him even more. To know that he sacrificed so much of his life for his family was touching. Cody's understanding of it all makes you feel even more endeared to him. These two fighting for what they know is theirs is a struggle worth getting through. I love this series so far and can't wait to see what Ms. Lewis has in store for us with the others. I look forward to them all.
Wow Stefan and Cody were so hot together from the time they meet they burned up the pages. They were great together and I thought they had tons of chemistry I enjoyed them both. I love getting to know the family. If you liked Luke's story you will enjoy his older brother Cody's story. Really looking forward to Kelan's book. Once again a great book by Lavinia Lewis.
I decided to give this series a second chance, but for me it wont be getting a third. Again the blurb promised so much in the way of intrigue and angst, but never lived up to it.
For me another promising series that unfortunately just never delivered.
The book showed promise, but the plot was too simplistic and predictable for me to get really in it. Cody avoided conflict and just went with the flow and accepted everything even when it hurt him. I can't really like characters like that. The characters were flat and the main focus of this book was on the story and not on the characters, which is why they fell short.
I wanted to like it, but I think I've been reading too many well written books lately to really like this one
I enjoyed this book more than the first one. Cody and Stefan are a great couple and though I don't feel like I got into Cody's head quite as much as I would have liked, I really enjoyed the plot and the supporting characters, as well as the MCs. I found myself entwined in the story and can't wait to read about Kelan now.
I liked this second book much better and that's from family perspective. In this part we got the picture about brothers. I did feel like everything developed to fast between Stefan and Cody, but in overall it was enjoyable read. I hope that in next book we will see more about Kelan pack in whole picture and not just about finding his mate.
When omega Cody is called back home he discovers his mate is a visiting pack alpha, but his happiness is quickly destroyed when he discovers Stefan already has a wife and a child.
I liked this book a bit better than the first, but not by much. Stefan's son, Aaron, kinda stole the show when he and Leah arrived. It's written in both Cody and Stefan's POV. The angst level is medium.
It's important to know that this series must be read in order. The second and third book actually overlap in the first book somewhat.
AMAZING! A fantastic, well written read. An intense storyline that holds your attention as you get caught up in the fierce twists and hot chemistry. Plenty of excitement and emotionally heartfelt. A thrilling must read.

I also reviewed, Book #1, Luke’s Surprise on Reviews by Jessewave. Cody’s Revelation follows the same format: werewolf meets werewolf, instant attraction, mating occurs…enter The Big Bad to try and break up their happiness.
As I have stated before, I love werewolf stories. If I have a choice between a contemporary romance and a werewolf romance I will pick the werewolf romance hands down. In this installment of the Shifters’ Haven series, I liked the fact the two main characters were already gay. There is no Gay-For-You trope in this book. Cody and Stefan know what they like and go for it, in bed and out. Also I liked how Cody’s Revelation storyline was inter-connected to Luke’s Surprise (you will have to read that to full understand this one), so that both storylines weave together without bogging each other down.
The biggest surprise for me was that one of the protagonists was already married – to a woman – when he meets his mate. While it was an arranged marriage and Stefan always knew he was gay and when he found his mate, he knew the union would end; it was still a shock for me (and Cody) to find out Stefan had a wife and step-son. Which is how The Big Bad enters the picture. Stefan’s wife has a brother (evil villain) and he wants to take control of Stefan’s pack and become the Alpha. He uses the lame excuse that Stefan’s new mate and his being gay isn’t “family friendly” for their pack to challenge Stefan’s role as Alpha. I thought that reasoning, while flawed, was extremely relevant to today’s society and showed that werewolf society is a replica of regular society.
Plus there are two great additions to the series, Stefan’s wife, Leah. She’s a feisty little thing who loves Stefan like a brother and is fiercely protective of her son. I enjoyed seeing a strong female who isn’t a bitch in books like these. Now to the son, Aaron. He is the comedic relief in the novella, which did get a little angsty in parts. After meeting his step-father’s new mate, Aaron decides he also would like to bag a Morgan brother and sets his sights on Kelan, Cody’s older and unmated brother. There are a couple of amusing scenes as Aaron follows Kelan around like a puppy trying to flirt with him which Kelan ignores since Aaron is only 17.
As with her other book, Lavinia Lewis writes some seriously hot sex scenes. Cody and Stefan burn up the pages and the reader totally buys into their passion for one another, a key in making an werewolf bonding novel work in my estimation.
Overall, I enjoyed Cody’s Revelation. I thought Ms. Lewis’ writing had tightened up in this installment and the addition of new characters helped move the plot along. My only niggle is that still in every book in this series we have a crazy bad guy who fights the reigning Alpha (Stefan, in this case) and that plot point is really not needed. I think there is enough internal strife in the werewolf community to create drama, rather than falling back on tried-but-true clichés of moustache-twirling villains. I hope the next book, Kelan’s Pursuit, coming out June 27, 2011 doesn’t fall into that trap. Recommended to people who love the werewolf genre.

In this second book in the Shifter's Haven series Cody is called home by his brother, the alpha of his pack, and discovers that what he'd always wanted but had never allowed himself to hope for has found him - his mate. But when Cody's mating is threatened by outsiders, he and Stefan find that their relationship is going to be a bit of a rocky ride.
I wasn’t very sure about Cody at the beginning. On the one hand I respected him for his unwillingness to enter into a relationship since he wouldn’t be able to give a partner who wasn’t his mate his all. On the other, he didn’t seem to have much of a personality. He barely showed any anger towards his brother for having abandoned him in the face of his father’s contempt and even when he found out about Stefan’s secret, Kelan seemed to have a stronger reaction to it than him.
Since I wasn’t sure if this had to do with Cody’s personality or his being an omega, I couldn’t really relate or connect to him as a character. Thankfully, when his mate was threatened Cody proved he did in fact have a backbone and my esteem of him doubled.
I love paranormal romance a lot more than contemporary so I was happy to see more of the wolf dynamics appear for the second half of the story. Rather than being a story about gay wolves, for the first half it seemed to be a story about gay men who happened to be wolves so I enjoyed seeing a bit more of the characters’ other half.
Even though I have to say I didn’t understand the shifters sometimes. If true mates are as important as they are, as the other half of a wolf’s soul I found it hard to believe that the wolves’ own Council would trade a mate away as a mere possession. The Council’s “family values” over anything else seemed a little forced too.
For his part, Stefan wasn’t very alphaish, which I guess is explained by the fact that he wasn’t supposed to be Alpha in the first place, but what omegas do for a pack other than calm people down (which didn’t always work for Cody) wasn’t really explained. Also, the fact that Cody and Stefan were mates and both nice people meant they fell in love ten pages in. While I normally don’t mind insta-love in werewolf stories, this one just seemed to be missing that little extra something.
Kelan’s been my favourite characters so far in the series, though Aaron – Stefan’s son – is a close second, so I’m looking forward to reading his story. Since the excerpt I read was promising, hopefully his story will be my favourite too. 3.5 stars.
This is the second book in the Shifter's Haven series. These books so far have been a good sweet read. This book however lacked urgency or suspense. Basically in the first book of the series you know Cody meets his mate and you know anything that happens because this book takes place overlapping the last few chapters of the first one.
It would have been nice as long as the stories followed a similar time line to have seen the some of the other events where these two are mentioned. Including completing the set up for the next book. I mean we know the next book is about Kelan and from the first book you know that Kelan goes to NY to visit Cody and comes home with a surprise (read: mate). And from the blurb of the book you know a little more than that. So it would have been interesting toi see the other side of the scenes from the end of the first book, and the set up as to why Kelan was in NY per say.
3.5 star read for me. I enjoyed this one more than the first book in the series, especially the new characters and getting to see Cody with his family. I was prepared to hate the wife and son storyline, but I wound up enjoying it, especially Aaron...he was adorably hilarious! I look forward to the next book in the series.
Cody's Revelation is a very nice addition to Ms. Lewis' Shifter's Haven series. It fits well with the first book and it has an unexpected twist that at first had me seeing red. So with Luke's and Cody's stories having been told, that leaves the oldest brother, Kelan, up next. It should be good. I give Cody's Revelation three stars.
It was a sort of interesting story. I felt really bad for cody, and honestly Stefan as a character was only so-so. Cody deserved better in my opinion, better mate AND better family.
Cody was treated so poorly by his dad, the pack, AND the whole town and was basically pushed out of town by all involved and neither of his brothers stood up for him at all. Then all of a sudden "hey we are gay too and no one has anything to say about that isn't it great?" What? Screw his freaking brothers. And the whole pack for what they did. Even his alpha brother didn't seem to care too much about Cody until he lost his other pack omega. Honestly if I were Cody I would have told kelan to shove it.
The whole business with stefan' s wife and kid. Eh. Whatever. Stefan went about the whole thing wrong but that situation was easily dealt with and that part of it was okay. The council and challenge was a different story. It was way too rushed, first of all. Secondly it was pretty dumb. I can't complain too much because I don't want spoilers but... Seriously. I pretty much started skimming because it was all just... eh.
All in all this book is "eh". It was mildly entertaining but I doubt I'll buy this author again.
A splendid, enjoyable MM shifter romance that runs concurrently with “Luke’s Surprise” The unique characters are quite well-developed & interesting with a variety of traits & realistic emotions feelings. There are character crossovers but this book can be read as a standalone. I found the story-line and plot fascinating with some unexpected incidents/situations. There is: a shy artistic young male omega (Cody), Cody’s eldest brother & alpha (Kelan), his younger brother (Luke) & his mate (Mark), a confident & dominant alpha (Stephen), his outspoken step-son (Aaron) & wife (Leah), a conniving brother-in-law (Devlin), wolf shifters, council politics, pack meetings, twists & turns, suspense, intrigue, longings, surprises, mates, jealousy, threats, danger, conflict, violence, deceit, betrayal, attacks, eavesdropping, discovery, emotional turmoil, complications, obstacles, confrontations, challenges, manipulations, devious intentions, decisions, compromises, love, happiness, contentment & a satisfying conclusion. I look forward to future books from this author & would recommend this book.
An appealing new twist to the idea of Omegas: the power to calm pack mates. In some, special powers of inquiry.
Interesting is that as butch and tough as the Alphas in this series are, the omegas have a unique and strong set of skills.
That the pack has not just an Alpha to lead and guide, and a defender and security betas, but one or more omegas to help maintain balance and harmony in the pack is very appealing and intriguing to me.
Distressing is the lack of full disclosure by the Alpha mate to an Omega, who is brother to a pack Alpha.
An unique and different pack world.
I am very much looking forward to the next story in this KU series .
I received an advance copy from Booksprout. I read this book on Kindle Unlimited.
Right time, right place? Stefan is married to Leah, nephew Aaron is his step-son. He didn't share the news with Cody when they met. They recognized each other as mates and Stefan immediately claimed Cody. Luke, the youngest brother was attacked & hospitalized by his ex, Ethan. Devlin, Leah's brother shows up and challenges Stefan for Alpha. There's a lot going on and all totally riveting. Does Stefan have a good explanation for Leah and Aaron? Is there any good solution that serves the Alpha and his mate well? How does Leah feel about Stefan finding his mate? How does the challenge go? Great story! Will Kelan the oldest brother find a mate? I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.
I enjoyed this one a lot more than the first I have to say. The characters were a lot more rounded and were developing better as the story went on. I loved the way Cody and Stefan met! There was a lot more about the pack and how it worked as well as bringing a couple of scenes from Luke's Surprise but from Cody's point of view, I liked that. I am going to give the third book a try based on the fact that I enjoyed this one a lot more. Fingers crossed they keep getting better and better.
A fantastic second story in Shifter's Haven series
This story runs concurrently with Luke’s Surprise. Cody Morgan returns to his family and meets his fated mate. All is wonderful until Cody learns that Stefan has a wife and son.
Lavinia deftly works the contradictory emotions and anger thru the two men in the story; She develops them as respectable and responsible men.
I hope we will be seeing Kelan’s story soon to complete the Morgans’ story.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is an excellent story, it is well written, entertaining and keeps your attention. Stefan finds his mate in Cody and is quick to claim him. The fact that he is already married, but not to his mate, brings a different dynamic to the story. Leah is beyond happy for Stefan but not everyone is of the same opinion. There is danger and a challenge lurking around the corner. This is an excellent read and I would highly recomnend this book.
Most of this story is a repeat of the previous book, except that this was through the perspective of Cody. The plot involves Cody finding his mate but also finding out that Stefan was already married. The characters were so pleasant and the two main characters were great together. I enjoyed the style of writing (except the repetitive aspect of the storyline) and it definitely held my attention. Very pleasurable read. =)
I think I loved this one more than the first one. It was really well written with characters that made me really like that them. I enjoyed their interactions and their personalities. It made me want to see what's next.
