I was left at the altar by my fiancée, but my two groomsmen are only too happy to comfort me.

Ricky:

I thought I was in love with Janine. She’s beautiful, sweet, and we’ve been dating since freshman year of college. It was the best day of my life when I asked her to marry me, and she said yes. But then Janine jilts me at the altar and leaves me like a fool before three hundred guests. I want to cry. I want to break down, and sob like a baby while sitting on the church steps. Good thing my groomsmen Hudson and Hayden are on hand to comfort me. But when their comfort goes beyond mere friendship, suddenly I’m forced to come face to face with the real Ricky who’s been hiding in the closet his whole life.

Hayden:

My twin Hudson and I have been friends with Ricky since we were tots. We defended him against kindergarten bullies and did our best to shield him from the ups and downs of life. But now, Ricky’s been left at the altar by his long-time sweetheart. We never thought it was going to work with a woman, but it wasn’t our place to question his sexuality.

Now Ricky tells us he has feelings. For us. Real feelings that run deep and strong, not to mention a magnetic physical attraction that pulses in the air. However, he’s conflicted because after a lifetime of living as a hetero man, the adjustment is difficult. He questions himself, thinking that his attraction to men might just be a reflexive reaction to his recent trauma of being jilted at the altar. How can we help him find himself and see the light? Living as a gay man is never easy, but Ricky’s emotional conflict is taking a toll and breaking our hearts. How do we help Ricky accept himself, when he’s afraid to batter down the closet doors for good?

This was sooooo slow! The characters sounded so damn immature. If they weren't adults I would have thought that they were kids. Ricky cried all the way till 47% of the book when I said to myself that I just can't read anymore! There was some funny parts in the book but it was other characters in the book that made it funny and that was like 3 pages in the beginning. Other than that I just thought it was boring. At least the book cover was sexy yummy

Jane releases Hudson to smack me lightly on the arm. “Isn’t old age wonderful? Sid is almost my height now, and my tits are about a foot away from touching the ground.”

“It’s a big day,” Jane says rhetorically. “The sky is blue, these young gentlemen are the handsomest groomsmen in Long Island, and my tits sag. I’m just stating facts.”

‘We’re EMTs now. We’re part of New York’s finest’

Author JP James continues The Always Series with Book 7 – ALWAYS THREE – a novel that tiptoes into somewhat forbidden territory and manages to make it come out well. JP has been writing LGBTQ novels for years and loves to place probable opposites against each other and watch the chemistry turn to steam.

Before the story begins in full, a fine stage is set – ‘‘“We wandered towards the tree-lined walkway across the parking lot. The Atlantis Hotel is one of the largest hotels in Long Island, and a massive feat of architectural prowess too. The exterior mixes pristine white walls with bright red brick. A clock tower stands above the main entrance, tolling every hour on the hour. The hotel is regal, unassuming, and grand in every sense of the word. I hate to admit it, but it’s perfect for a wedding. It’s perfect for any wedding…except the one that’s about to take place”

Twins who are out and a closeted bridegroom are the makings of a groupie, or as the synopsis so well describes the plot – ‘I was left at the altar by my fiancée, but my two groomsmen are only too happy to comfort me. Ricky:- I thought I was in love with Janine. She’s beautiful, sweet, and we’ve been dating since freshman year of college. It was the best day of my life when I asked her to marry me, and she said yes. But then Janine jilts me at the altar and leaves me like a fool before three hundred guests. I want to cry. Hayden: My twin Hudson and I have been friends with Ricky since we were tots. We defended him against kindergarten bullies and did our best to shield him from the ups and downs of life. But now, Ricky’s been left at the altar by his long-time sweetheart. We never thought it was going to work with a woman, but it wasn’t our place to question his sexuality. How do we help Ricky accept himself, when he’s afraid to batter down the closet doors for good?’

Stories that deal with ménage a trois subject matter can sink if not delivered well. JP James manages to not only keep the boat afloat, but also makes it a lesson in how to make the arrangement credible. This is a fast paced, very steamy romance that works well.

blah blah blah

Typos and weird storytelling. I didn’t understand. It was like the person wanted to tell the story but didn’t have the real understanding and confidence to tell the story. Good plot but better written by someone else.

It was ok

The book was okay. The book dragon on at certain points and went too fast at other points. I would probably not read the book again or recommended to other people.

Tired and trite storyline.

This is the 3rd M/M/M book that I've read by his author. The first two were okay, but when I got to this one, not only is it exactly the same, but there were SO many errors in the book. Where was the editing? This book had wrong words and extra words. ALL three books had identical twins from the same family, all gay and all looking to share a boyfriend/husband. That really isn't a plausible storyline. Oh, not to mention, the first set of Jones' twins were from the NYPD, the second set of Jones' twins were from the FDNY and the third set of Jones' twins were from FDNY, but as EMT's.

Accepting Their Inevitable Truth:
By Korkoi -

This book truly deserves high praise for the way it portrayed Ricky, Hudson and Hayden’s struggled, as well as how they dealt with and and overcame it. The love between the three musketeers was evident with each page turn, even through all the pain they endured. I have read a few books from J. P. James and each time I finish reading one of the stories, I am left in awe of how the stories are brought to life.

I received a copy of this ARC and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

DNF at 40%. The writing style wasn't awful (hence the second star a DNF usually does not get from me), and the characters had potential. I just did not like Ricky, the so called jilted groom. He seemed extremely immature and narcissistic to me. Also, the pacing of the plot was painstakingly slow.

This latest in the series is a real heartbreaker. There are so many people who have been hurt by relationships and breakups. I loved how the author took friends since childhood and showed the ties between them. Hudson and Hayden for all purposes looked like they had it all but in truth they had many insecurities and issues growning up as other kids plus they always knew they were gay. Luckily they had each other and their friend Ricky. Ricky has his own problems. He labels himself as bi which makes him very self conscience. As they all grow up and move on to college they loose touch with each other somewhat. Their career paths are so different and distance makes their similarities and interests less and less. Its when Ricky is to be married that breaks the camels back. I think the author did a excellent job with the timeline and flow of the story. I also feel the emotions of all three main characters are described so well I felt them. I enjoyed the non traditional connection between the three. I liked the road laid out for the relationship development not only between the three but also between the friends and relatives. I was happy to have previous characters brought into the story. It's no wonder I watch for stories written by this author and wouldn't miss one.

Sweet and sexy with just the right amount of angst!

Just what I needed after some intense reads. A good story with a great mix of characters. There is serious issues dealt with while still being a somewhat lighthearted read. I need to read more of these books because I really want to know more about the guys at the firehouse. Man that has to be a great sight for Ricky.

This is an outstanding, emotional MMM romance with a “friends to lovers” undertone that certainly grab my attention within a few pages. The plot is intriguing, well-thought out & written. The character’s unique personalities are well-developed & intense with a determination to succeed; they display believable emotional feelings & reactions as they develop throughout the story-line.
There is: a apparently straight young man (Ricky) is left at the altar by his fiancé (Janine) & is comforted by his two openly gay friends acting as his groomsmen (the twins, Hayden & Hudson) who have intense longings for him, some mild twists, drama, emotional turmoil, attractions, emotional feelings, a unexpected visitor, confusion, apologies, misunderstandings, anguish, heartache, admittance, declarations, verbal banter, happiness, love, some steam & a wonderful, satisfying conclusion.

Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. Ricky Hudson and Hayden had grown up best friends but college life split them up the twins going for EMT jobs while Ricky went of to another life. The bonds was pulled but never served as they kept in touch only when things turn bleak for Ricky, he clinged on to Janine that is until the day she ram on their wedding giving Ricky a chance to be who he really is with the twins. Once he starts making life and seeing a brighter future, who decides she wants him back. How can Ricky convince the twins that they are who he really wanted, that it wasn't a experiment?
This was a great sweet friends to lovers romance. A recommend must read.

This book is without a doubt the most carelessly written and unedited manuscript I have ever read. There are misspellings and grammar mistakes on almost every page. It's very obvious the writer never studied creative writing or English as a language, the book is riddled with mistakes, which tells me the presumptuous author doesn't read her own creations.

The dialog is often stilted and difficult to determine which character is speaking.
I have never critiqued a book before this one, and it was so bad I felt I had to comment. A little closer attention to the words on the page would serve her well.
Thank you.

Bad enough Janine is a runaway bride, but she unfriends Ricky on social and then parties it up!! WTH! That's a bit backwards! Sarah made me even madder when she stuck up for Janine! I liked how the three guys gradually came to face the reality of their connections, and the Dan was just a placeholder and surrogate for Ricky. Ricky was irreplaceable!! I was disappointed that Ricky got conflicting feelings when Janine showed up again! Angst and steam! Must read and will enjoy. Surprises at the end!!!

Another well written book by JP James who once again brings strong characters and a story of coming out. The author does a great job developing both the characters and the story line and shows the love and support Ricky has when he's left at the alter and comes to terms with his sexuality. It's a beautifully written story filled with drama and tons of emotions. I loved and highly recommend this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

I enjoyed this romance. The story is interesting and entertaining. This book delivers a raw blend of emotions, painful, eye-opening self-discovery and uncovered feelings. The storyline felt very real to me and I found it easy to feel for Ricky. Nobody deserves to be treated the way he was by Janine. I liked the connection and chemistry between Hayden, Ricky and Hudson and the evolution of their relationship. This is my truthful review that I am electing to post.

3 stars for the sweetness and the overall story.
also the cover was nice.
The story not so much,to much crying over nothing.
The characters where/are to childish to pull the whole
friends to lovers threesome off,on a level that was somewhat
to believe.

But to say something good,Always Three,is a nice bedtime read,.
I liked it as a story with humor, not steamy and rather romantic for teens
and beginners with the m/m genre.

This is the 7th book in this series, and when Ricky is left at the altar, his two groomsmen twins Hayden and Hudson, step in to help him. These three never realised the attraction between them all until then. This is a well written story which has me intrigued and hooked throughout and I recommend for all.

A pretty good story but...

The story line was alright. It had good flow and was a fast read. The characters were mostly well thought out and were relatable. While the plotline was okay, the very amateurish spelling and grammatical errors a long with poor editing turned a decent story into a muddled mess for most readers.

Needs better proofing/editing

I enjoyed the story, but the many typos and misspellings were extremely distracting. Better editing would greatly benefit this author.

Just missed the mark

For as much time as was devoted to some scenes I was never able to connect to the characters.. The twins seemed interchangeable. It might not affect the story but this book definitely needs to go back for a proof reading.

Lol this was silly. I skipped through out of sheer curiosity as to how their relationship would work, but dude they were immature and I didn't take it seriously.

Tense

Not in a good way. If you can only write present tense, you need to be good. This lost me on page 2. Snooze fest.
