Never Now is a standalone written by the best selling author Scarlett Hopper. Told in single perspectives , this book tells an amazing tale of loss , love , redemption and second chances!!
This was the first book that I have read by this author and I am completely in awe of how she spun those words to completely ruin my mind. I rarely read sweet Romance stories , but this one seems like a must read for all!!
Emelia is the female protagonist of this book. She has had feelings for Reeve who is her brother's best friend. Reeves however has always seen her as the little sister. Reeves was a decent guy , for whom his friendship with Emelia's brother meant a lot. He couldn't get past the fact of what he will think when he pursued a relationship with Emelia.
After a lot of chances and rejections , Emelia has finally had enough. She decides to move on with her life and forget about Reeves. Reeves was one stubborn guy !! I wanted to smack him so many times to convince him to give Emelia a chance. He seemed caring and all but at times I don't know why he tagged Emelia along. I mean he had no chance of being with her , then why give her hope??
Overall this book was a good read for me. It was a simple contemporary romance that I finished reading in one sitting . This book is recommended to all the contemporary romance lovers out there who have addiction to themes like second chance and brothers best friend type!!

I loved this book so much! When I first read Saint Street by Scarlett Hopper, I absolutely fell in love with all of the secondary characters in the story. Emilia was a character that really stood out to me and I can't deny that Reeve's character is one that piqued my interest. I was so glad that they got their own story.
Hopper's writing is so easy to connect with. I really love that I can pick up one of her stories and feel so at home in the pages. The narration is smooth and the story flows beautifully. I loved how I was glued to the pages of the story.
The thing that makes Saint Street and this book so special is definitely the characters. These are the types of characters that become a part of you as you read their stories. My heart was really with these characters the whole way. I love how the author writes the characters so emotionally. It makes it so easy to connect with the characters. Emilia's character did not disappoint me. I fell in love with her personality and was so touched by her journey in the book. Reeve continued to be a mysterious character in the story but I couldn't help but adore him. As I previously mentioned, the secondary characters in this world are excellent. I felt so deeply for each and every one of them.
I loved how romantic Reeve was. He was so in love with Emilia and he showed it. Even when they were only friends he found ways to show Emilia that he cared about her. I loved that. He was there for her emotionally which really gave him points in my book. The sexual tension between them was palpable. They had intense chemistry that can only come from knowing someone very well.
Overall, this was a heart-stopping story that sinks into your bones. The story is emotional and compelling. This world and the characters in it have really imprinted on me. I can't even express how excited I am to read Lottie and Owen's story in Late Love that comes out this fall. If you have never tried this author before then I totally recommend it!

Scarlett Hopper knows how to do some amazing angst and this book only helped prove that. The drama and forbidden romance sucked me in right away and I found myself falling in love with these character faster than I usually do.
Emilia and Reeve were so fun to read about and I really liked that even though they were attracted to each other they didn't let it get in the way of their friendship. That was actually the best part about them for me, their friendship was strong and it did have some rocky moments when Reeve was being stubborn about what he wanted but even then they didn't just give up on each other. It really made their connection stronger and of course brought all the angst that I was loving in this book.
Overall, this is a definite must read book and I recommend it to all my fellow lovers of a brothers-best-friend book. It does connect to the book Saint Street but can be read as a standalone without spoilers or confusion in my opinion.

I love this book soo much. the writing by this author was soo refreshing, to say the least. When I read the book I could feel the emotions of the character Emilia's apprehensions and Reeve's fear of screwing things up. It's like watching a Rom-Com Movie with an emotional edge you can only find in books. It not only depicts romance but the strength in the bonds of a family, love between brother and sister...Friends who are steadfast and stand with you in all your troubles..
This book was not cliche at all. The decisions made by the character were so realistic and sensible.
I would love to read more books by her.

‘Never Now’ is about Emilia, an artist who pines for her brother’s best friend Reeve, a professional singer. After several rejections from Reeve, Emilia decides to let him go. When Reeve realizes his mistakes and pleas for another chance, will Emilia grant it?
Emilia suffers from survivor’s guilt and other strains after her parents' death. She’s a sweet, kind, and passionate woman. Reeve is a cute, warm introvert with family issues. All the characters in this book were relatable. Emilia loses her parents and hence values her friends more. They are her family and Reeve shares that sentiment. The background characters and their stories were well-developed. Lottie and Owen were intriguing and made the reader want to know more. Cora, Emilia’s roommate, and her cat supported the casual mood of the book.
The relationships between everyone in the gang were meaningful. The connection between Emilia and all her loving buddies was so profound. The conflict that occurred in Emilia and Reeve’s relationship due to fear of losing their friends was reasonable.
Reeve’s character was incomplete and he felt flat. The reader doesn’t know much about Reeve and his explanations for his faults were desolate. There was a ton of foreshadowing, though it worked at times, it felt forced occasionally. The author did not offer specific detail regarding the settings, it could be Emilia’s apartment, the performance locations, Reeve’s home. That works both ways because it would offer the reader freedom to imagine whatever but also a minus for detail-freaks.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and it was a great read. The prologue starts us of in 2015 and then moves forward from there. This book is a real brothers best friends romance and was a sweet romance read that I enjoyed. There journey is up and down and the love that they have between each other never goes away its just that life itself can sometimes stop people from showing how they really feel.
Emelia has had feelings for Reeve for a very long time and hasn't really made them known. The problem is he has always seen her as just like a little sister, and when her leaves her humiliated and broken she has had enough.
Reeve is a really good guy that always works hard. Years pass and the group of friends are very close to each other, very attentive and always look out for one another. When something happens Emilia decided no more and that she just wants to move on with her life and if Reeve doesn't want her she's just wanting to move on.

“You want the storybook ending and that’s ok. It’s okay to want a Mr. Darcy or a High Grant to chase after you in the pouring rain…”
This is my first book by Scarlett Hopper, and I am surprise to find such an easy reading, and a simple plot with so many characters; Scarlett managed to write about a very simple topic in life and yet bringing a completely different side of all relationships.
Emilia has known since being a kid that Reeve is the love of her life; but she knows that Reeve only sees her as a little sister and she’s crushed by the fact that it may never change, and after several attempts in trying to change that and being hurt, she’s had enough, and now is time to move on.
Reeve has so many secrets of his own, he doesn’t trust easily and he’s not willing to risk losing her by changing anything, so he goes for the safe bet; the only problem is that he keeps hurting Emilia and he’s not sure how to go back.
In this book we get to see another side of every kind of relationship there is; and I completely identify with each of this types of obstacles, which makes this book completely realistic and in the fiction and fantasy we sometimes get lost, it is so good to read about real problems with actually amazing solutions.

I haven't moved all day because I could not put this down. There were so many things that charmed me about this book. I loved the way it showed the ups and downs of adult friendship. The romance is sweet and charming. This book is a warm hug perfect for a rainy day inside or a light summer read.

For Emilia Ronan, Reeve Sawyer is her best friend. The one person who will sit and listen to her and will even watch romantic movies with her. The only problem is that Em has only ever loved Reeve Sawyer whilst he sees her as just his friend’s younger sister. Or so she thinks. After being rejected years ago, she decides to try again. However, the impact on this threatens their friendship and more.
This story had me hooked from the very start. I found myself reading throughout the day and whilst I hoped for a HEA, the complexity of the relationship was fascinating. This is a story that shows two very realistic characters who struggle with their past family issues or life events. Taken largely from Em’s perspective, it is still quite easy to see the relationship from both perspectives, with small aspects of Reeve’s background integrated into Emmy’s thoughts. The secondary characters also play an integral role in this story, making this more than your average romance.
I am quite pleased to have another author to add to my list to follow.

I was given this ARC by the author through NetGalley for an honest review. I have never read this author before and now that I've finished reading "Never Now", I am starting the fisrt book "Saint Street" since I enjoyed the first book so much. This is an older brother's best friend, younger sister romance. Emilia Ronan and Reeve Sawyer have known each other since they were children. Emilia has had a crush on tall, dark and handsome Reeve since she could remember, Reeve thinks of her as his younger sister until he doesn't and one night everything changes. This story takes you through Emilia and Reeves, hurts, doubts, struggles and love. Put your feet up, grab a glass of wine and enjoy the story as it unfolds, like I did. This is a well written, easy read and very enjoyable. book.

This is the story of Emilia and Reeve. They have been friends for most of their lives and part of the group of friends at Saint Street. This book should be read after reading Saint Street, which is Stana and Ali’s story, but can be read as a stand-alone. This is a well written friends to lover’s story that will pull at your heart and have your emotions all over the place. It is also a story about growth for both characters that resonated with me. I can’t wait to read Lottie and Owen’s story. I highly recommend this book!

I enjoyed this book, the second in the series. I didn’t read the first one but immediately went and downloaded it after I read this. I LOVE a good friends to lovers romance, and I enjoyed the friendships and the banter. Thank you to netgalley for the ARC.

I say this with every book by Scarlett Hopper, but it’s true, so I am saying it with this one. This book is gut-achingly real. Real people, real situations. No extra fluff.
While so far not called a “series”, it is the sequel to Saint Street. Saint Street was Ali and Stana’s story. Now it’s the story of Emi, Ali’s younger sister, and Reeve, his best friend. This starts out concurrent with Saint Street, but jumps ahead to the present time, making it more like a sequel. While I enjoyed Saint Street, this one is exponentially better.
Emi and Reeve have been friends for years, but being the younger sister of his friend, Reeve didn’t want to take those steps. After a couple of situations, he still doesn’t so here comes the angst! Oh boy, I felt it in my toes! It’s the perfect level and amount of angst too; nothing that overtakes the story, but it is realistic and adds to the romance. Finally, just when you think things are going right, they are not.
My only critique with this book is that it would have benefited greatly with dual perspectives. If that’s even a critique, since it is more of a thought. I only say this because Reeve is going through family issues. Again, realistic issues and not stupid dramatic ones. While we know of them when he tells Emi, it would be nice from his perspective too; to read the struggle he is going through. While reading it, I didn’t feel for him as much as I probably should have, only due to the lack of perspective making it harder to connect with him.
I felt for Emi though. Her emotions were so realistic they poured off the page. The other thing Scarlett always does right is the writing. Her words are beautiful. Everything flows so nicely and I am never bored. The emotion and angst in this book was perfect.
I don’t quote books. While many have many fantastic lines, it takes a lot of memory to do so. The first and one of two books I have done so, was one by this author. And yet again, her quote: “You let go first Reeve. I’m sick of holding on” tore me to shreds! Something about the breakup scenes this lady writes…my goodness!
Like Saint Street, this one does a fantastic job setting the characters up for the next book. Late Love will feature Owen and Lottie. My only hope is that it doesn’t start where this one ends, as I need to read about them getting close and how he is with her during the months before the end of Never Now. Can’t wait!

I only say this because Reeve is going through family issues. Again, realistic issues and not stupid dramatic ones. While we know of them when he tells Emi, it would be nice from his perspective too; to read the struggle he is going through. While reading it, I didn’t feel for him as much as I probably should have, only due to the lack of perspective making it harder to connect with him.
I felt for Emi though. Her emotions were so realistic they poured off the page. The other thing Scarlett always does right is the writing. Her words are beautiful. Everything flows so nicely and I am never bored. The emotion and angst in this book was perfect.
I don’t quote books. While many have many fantastic lines, it takes a lot of memory to do so. The first and one of two books I have done so, was one by this author. And yet again, her quote: “You let go first Reeve. I’m sick of holding on” tore me to shreds! Something about the breakup scenes this lady writes…my goodness!
Like Saint Street, this one does a fantastic job setting the characters up for the next book. Late Love will feature Owen and Lottie. My only hope is that it doesn’t start where this one ends, as I need to read about them getting close and how he is with her during the months before the end of Never Now. Can’t wait!

The thing I love about brother's best friend books is that the sister is always forbidden. The best friend doesn't want to ruin his friendship with the bro because he knows that's exactly what would happen and usually the sister's brother would tell his best friend to stay away from his sister.
Emilia has been in love with Reeves practically all her life. For as much as she wants him to notice her as a woman and not her brother's best friend's little sister, she knows it's not going to happen. But Reeve could never do that to his best friend nor can he or does he want to ruin his friendship with Emilia but their chemistry is just at the point where it's about to explode and it's getting harder and harder for them to deny their feelings....well more like for Reeve it is because Emilia has always shown him how she felt and she's at the point where she's giving up.

"Never Now" by Scarlett Hopper is a brother's best friend romance, it's marketed as a standalone but seeing how there's a book before it ("Saint street") that would give you more insight into who the characters are & their friends group, I feel like it's more fitting to market the books as part of book series instead of standalones. Not to mention how you get spoilers about the couple from "Saint Street" while reading this one.
Back to Never Now, I rarely DNF books & I just had to give up on this one. I'm stubborn af, but I just had enough once I reached a certain point. (DNF at 56%)
- The book, its plot were just too predictable, the characters, especially the heroine kept repeating the same thing over and over again, to a point you would wonder if the author thinks the readers have Dory's memory & she believed she absolutely has to keep reminding them what's going on every second or they'd forget and get lost.
- If you're going in expecting steamy scenes & so on, all you actually get is some generic kisses & fade to black "sex" scenes that are super YA. In one instance the author described the hero rolling a condom with one long sentence that showed she was clearly avoiding actually saying the word for some reason ( "That familiar rustle alerts me to the fact he’s not a moron and knows despite being caught up in everything, I’m not ready to be a mum." Just say that he put on a condom, what's the big deal, people know what those are for).
- The names of the characters (sometimes their full first names) would be said way too frequently when it's just two people talking.
- Some of the chapters kept ending the same, like for example Emilia dreaming of a certain thing & saying how everything changed with "this one night". A night you don't get to experience yourself, just read how the heroine can't stop thinking about it & dreams of it non-stop. Heck, you don't get to experience any of the intimate scenes between those two, just accept they're soulmates and all that. Show some & tell, maybe?
- The hero & heroine kept hooking up after getting drunk (realistic, I guess, but also clichéd & became way too repetitive as the book progressed), the biggest cliché was how it was all such "a big mistake" every time. Like if you can't behave around each other when drunk, don't drink around one another, it's that simle. You're adults, act like it.
- If Reeve cared so much about Emilia why did he keep refusing to talk to her about them hooking up, he owed her that much, instead he chose to hurt her feelings & exit the apartment like nothing happened.
- Don't believe how repetitive it all is? This is just one example : We kept hearing how Reeve isn't ready about a certain thing (trying to avoid spoiling, so the identity of the person is redacted, but really none of it is a twist or any surprise). For some reason Emilia kept repeating that many times in a row, like we get it, HE ISN'T READY . But you just keep repeating, you just keep repeating. ("(Redacted) has attempted to contact him again and again, but Reeve still isn’t ready. I’ve told him I’ll go anywhere with him, make sure he is safe and has people in his corner, but he isn’t ready. (Redacted) still contacts him,...")
- Emilia and Reeve wanted to keep their relationship a secret for no actual reason. It all just felt silly & unnecessary. (“Once we’ve figured everything out, it won’t matter who knows, Em. You said you didn’t want to go public right now. Has that changed?”) What's there to figure out? You love each other, your friends love you two, they won't give a fluff you date. This conflict is so artificial.
- Speaking of conflicts, the book, to the point I made it, had no actual ones to keep the plot going & keep you interested in reading. No good twist either. It all felt too repetitive & genetic.
- The most bizarre part: "But I do realize. This isn’t just any song. It’s a song about me. A song he’s been singing for years." - For some reason it took years for Emilia to realize a song was written about her, despite her singing it ever since she first heard it & being obsessed with Reeve for eternity, her excuse was she thought her brother co-wrote it, a song about a "LITTLE GIRL" !! Firstly, why wasn't she confused/bothered why her brother would be writing a love song about staying friends with some little girl & two, why wasn't her brother questioning why his best friend was writing a love song about a little girl? Just wth.
- I enjoyed the friendship between Emilia, Stana & Lottie to a certain degree, but like everything else in this book, it too got old because of how overused it was.
- The writing overall needs work, with sentences that had weird structure, all the repetitiveness was too much to handle, to a point it would make you feel like you accidentally reread the same page again & again.
In my opinion, the book should have included dual POV, making it possible for the reader to connect better with Reeve & get a deeper look into his character instead of only receiving Emilia's view of him & his hang-ups.
This being said, "Never Now" is not the worst book I've ever read, but it just couldn't keep me invested in the characters or the story, it was way too generic. It felt like a big waste of time at points, tbh.
I can't say I really recommend this one.

This book is a good romance novel, a quick read about love, struggles and finding your own family.
I liked Hopper’s writing, it is fresh and perfect for teenagers or people in their twenties.
All the characters were well written and had the right amount of presence in the story. Emilia was my favorite and I had mixed feelings about Reeve: at the beginning I really loved his personality and manners, but during the book he let out his true character and I think I preferred how he was before.
The only sort of negative thing I have to say is that the love story felt a little rushed sometimes. I wished Hopper’s had spent more words on Emilia’s recovery instead of letting her come back with her love interest every time after a few chapters.
Lastly, I didn’t know that this was the second book of a series: the first one is called Saint Street, but since they can be read as stand alones I will probably give it a shot in the future.

So my first Scarlett Hopper, not my last tho!
I received this for an honest review! Being in love with your brothers friend sucks. But what makes it worse is he only sees you as a little sister. Go through the ends and outs of confessing your feelings and being shot down. This is angsty as heck, but so good! The drama and laughter, the sadness and happiness....it’s all here in this book. The other friends their stories kinda overlap, but never overshadow who it is actually about! I love it, every aspect.

I enjoyed Reeve and Emilia and their confusing starts and stops on the way to happy. Reeve didn’t want to lose his family, Emilia didn’t want to be the chump, they both had hurts to get past. The funniest part was them thinking that they had any of their friends fooled. Of course, I wanted to cry for Emilia when Reeve acted spontaneously for the first time ever, but his determination to prove just how badly he wanted to deserve Emilia made it better. It’ll be interesting to see what Owen and Lottie get up to in their story.

Emilia is in love with her brothers best friend. Reeve knows he has feelings for her but is very confused. I enjoy A book with multiple characters. I enjoyed all the side stories mixed in with Emilia and Reeve’s story. There was a very strong sexual connection mixed in with a very heavy emotional baggage connection. This was definitely a page turner and I enjoyed reading this book.

Overall, this was a good romance novel. It was quirky and a quick read. I loved the family that was created through their friendships and the relationships that bloomed from them. I wasn't aware that this was supposed to be a second book in a series, but it can definitely be treated as a stand alone. I did not find out until after I finished that it was in a series and wasn't lost in the slightest.
I really enjoyed Scarlett's writing style, it felt fresh and relatable. The only negative I had was that at times I felt like Emilia's and Reeve's relationship felt rushed, but I guess it makes sense seeing as they have known each other since they were children. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fun, cute romance novel!

I was so enamoured with the outline of this book, and when i finally delved into the story it was just what i needed! Thanks to NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

The plot of this story was actually amazing. I was hooked from page 1 and couldn't put it down. I loved all of the typical British references- living in a large city, meeting up in a pub to see your friends play in a band. I also felt truly connected to all the characters within the story and their lives and i was fully rooting for them all to get happy endings.
The pacing of this story was really good and worked perfectly for the romance between Em and Reeve.
The characters were wonderfully written. I loved watching the development of Em and Reeve in particular, but seeing all of the side characters, like Lottie, open up and become more involved within the story was truly joyous.
Also as a massive bonus- the start of the book actually lists a playlist of songs to listen to whilst reading this novel and they are all such good recommendations and complement the story perfectly.
Overall:
If you are wanting to read a contemporary romance story that can be serious, lighthearted and hits all the right notes then this is definitely the book for you.

They become friends but then she develop romantic feelings toward him. In other hand, he’s a little insecure and he has to deal with some emotional issues, so, it becomes awkward and uncomfortable, changing the dynamic between them. They have to do some changes in order to the relationship workout. I feel identified with this story because I experienced a similar situation and I love how the topic was developed by the author.
I totally enjoyed this book, definitely I want to read more Scarlett Hopper’s books.

The writing came across as very amature, a lot of telling instead of showing. The characters felt pretty fake and the dialogue was not very natural but very forced. The beginning was cute with the romance but I had to dnf because the writing style was very kiddish to me and would repeat the same things over and over. The story itself definitely had potential although it is a plot that is very overdone but the author could have made it her own. I would have gotten more sucked in to the plot and the character dynamics if it was not for the writing style.

Another great book by Scarlett Hopper and another fabulous playlist! Never Now is a fantastic sequel to the Saint Street series. It picks up toward the end of Saint Street when Stana's in America. While it does provide a bit of background for you, it's best to read the first book before jumping into the series. While the first book focused on Stana and Ali's story, this features Em and Reeve. Em, Stana's best friend, and Ali's younger sister is upbeat and creative, and one of the extroverts of the Saint Street group. Combined with Reeve, who is reserved and mysterious, the two make quite a pair. After one night forever changes their friendship, it unleashes years-worth of buried emotions and set them down a rocky road of relationship ups and downs.
The Characters:
Em was an amazing presence in the first book and Stana's constant companion and newest bestie. The best part about this book is seeing her story for the first time. Since she lost her parents as a teenager, she grew up under Ali's protective care and harbored a secret crush on Reeve. Whenever Ali wasn't around, Reeve was always there. And Em, outgoing and compulsive, is the exact opposite of him. She also goes through so much personal growth in this book. When her relationship with Reeve is realized, it's like a fantasy come true but when she realizes how closed off Reeve is, how scared he is of damaging their friendship, she's forced to make a choice for herself. In order for them to have any future together, she has to embrace her independence and accept that a teenage fantasy can be unrealistic, although not unattainable.
Reeve had been a quiet and somewhat foreboding figure in the first book but in this one, we got to see a different side to him with his open affection with Em and his struggle with his own past. He and Em are a great match but he has to conquer his own self-doubts and be willing to speak up about his feelings, putting aside his typical caution to earn Em's love and trust. And this book certainly reveals the hidden layers to him as it tests his ability to navigate the tangle of family and romantic relationships. As someone who's deeply introverted, organized, and predictable, the twists in his personal life will leave him sinking or swimming. But, out of the Saint Street group, Reeve has definitely jumped to the top of my favorites list.

The character development in this book was absolutely perfect. Both Em and Reeve grow up as their relationship grows as well. As they mature on their own separate paths, they learn to recognize the need for honesty with their feelings and toward each other and learn how to balance their faults and strengths. What I appreciated most was how Em learned to move past her childhood dreams of Reeve, recognizing that it brought unrealistic pressure but also learning along the way how to step into her own independence, apart from her brother and Reeve. While it shows the difficulty she endures in spreading her wings, it gives her the unique opportunity to come into a better version of herself, allowing them both to do some growing before giving their relationship another chance.
We laugh, we learn, and we love. And we also fight, because life isn't perfect, and neither is love. But it's the strength of our love that overpowers any possibility that life couldd break us.
All in all, this was another great book by Scarlett Hopper! Of course, any reunion that takes on Saint Street is bound to be fun and this was no exception. Can't wait for the third book and to see what becomes of Lottie and Owen!

Emília has been in love with Reeve since she was 16 years old, but the age difference of 5 years, at that time meant that they were both at very different moments in their lives.
At 20 Emilia tries to take to kiss him, but Reeve rejects her saying that he sees her as a sister. Ouch!
At 23 Emilia, armed with liquid courage, finally gets her Prince Charming or so she thought. Reeve and Emilia spend 2 nights together, both a bit drunk and on both occasions, Reeve regrets the next morning saying that it was a mistake, and each time he destroys Emilia’s heart.
But the third time is the charm, right? They both start a relationship but decide to keep it a secret, at least at the beginning, but there is no 2 without 3 and Reeve again breaks Emilia’s heart and this time Emilia says that enough is enough.
Reeve is a man who has always been in control, but with Emilia he seems to lose his mind, and it makes him act and feel like he’s never done before and that leads him to screw up on numerous occasions.
But thank God he is not a man who gives up easily and with several thoughtful gifts, some groveling and some time apart and a minor scare, Emilia gives him another chance.
I ❤️ reading the stories of this group of friends and I can’t wait to read Lottie and Owen’s story.
“I’m ready to tell everyone, Reeve, because these past few months have only managed to confirm and heighten what I’ve always known. I love you, Reeve.”“Emilia,” Reeve whispers, and it’s short and pained. I pull back my hand on instinct, my throat tightening and eyes burning. “You know how much you mean to me.” “But?”“I might have to leave town for a little while.” I rear back, his words, or lack thereof, hurting me more than any slap would. “What? Where?” He exhales, his hands going to tug on his hair. “I spoke to my dad; he wants me to join him in America for the month.”“Em,” he says, reaching for me. I pull back, not liking where this is going. I’ve seen the look that lines his face before. Three times actually. The times he rejected me. “Spit it out.” “I need to sort my head out. I don’t want to end things; I just think a little bit of perspective would do me good. You know how much you mean to me.”He looks to the ground like an absolute coward. He was right when he said I was reckless. Reeve is so cautious; he wouldn’t know a risk if it bit him on the ass. “I’m not saying this is the end, Emilia. I just need to gather perspective, to figure my life out. It isn’t as simple as you’re trying to make it. Just because our time might not be now doesn’t mean it’s over for us.”“It’s never now for us, Reeve. Always later that’s riddled with excuses and hesitancy. Our love, our relationship is always tomorrow, never now. I can’t wait anymore. I’m done Reeve.”

It is about a group of friends but concentrates on Emilia and Reeve, a typical best friends little sister/big brother's best friend.
I'll be honest I didn't like Emilia! She lost her cool to easy which came of as pure spoilt, even when Reeve tried to talk openly to her, when she realised it wasn't exactly what she wanted to hear then she lost the bap and threw him out and it wasn't just a one-time occurrence!
I liked Reeve at the start, however his character didn't really grow at all!
It did become quite repetitive as well - Reeve wasn't ready, she was angry and hurt, she had a deadline etc..
There are more books to come out about the other peeps in the group but I'll be honest, there's enough about them in this book that I wouldn't need to read them! We don't get Lottie and Owens ending but it's obvious what's going to happen!
Maybe hold off on the other characters stories as much, you want the reader to ask questions about them / be curious about them so that they want their story!
I think this would be a good story for a young adult, there's only a couple of sex scenes however there's nothing descriptive, it mentions putting a condom on but nothing more - that's not a complaint, just saying it would be suitable for the younger adults!
All in all, it was ok. Not my cup of tea, but definitely don't give up! 🤗

Never Now is a friends to lovers stand alone romance. Emilia end her brother Ali have been friends with Reeve for a long time. Both Ali and Reeve are extremely protective of Emilia. She has always had a thing for Reeve, but she never let those feelings show until one night when she makes her moves on him and he rejects her.
Although Reeve frustrated me so much throughout this story, I really enjoyed this book. I really like that the author wrote this book in the present time with flashbacks from the past that allows us to understand or interpret the emotional journey Reeve and Emilia took us on. I have to say that I liked Emilia a lot more than I did Reeve. Despite she being younger, she was a lot more mature and clear about her feelings. Reeve was an over thinker and I felt that he ran away from his problems too abruptly. He was so stubborn. There were a few times throughout the story that I wished I could smack some sense into him through the pages of the book.
I also really enjoyed the other characters in this story, Ali, Stana, Owen and Lottie. This was a group of friends who became family. I’ll definitely be reading Ali and Stana’s story in Saint Street and I’ll be looking forward to Owen and Lottie’s story.
