I love reading all of Chiah Wilder MC books!! You won't go wrong with any of them.
This book was able Shadow and Scarlett. He is a MC brother and she is from the rich society.. you know what they say about oil and water. They don't mix or do they? Ever seen how there is rainbow colors in oily spots on the road after it's rained? Kind of pretty isn't it.
Shadow lost his Mother when he was a teenager and she was dating a rich man who had moved her and Shadow into a nice high rise apartment. Told her he was getting a divorce. Never happened because she was murdered.
Many years later and he was at an old friends engagement party and that is where Shadow met Scarlett. They had a hook up but they was supposed to be it. Until they started running into each other. She had a wimpy boyfriend. Not going to stop Shadow in getting what he wants. They go through a lot of twist and turns and during all this he finally finds out who killed his mother. With all the people involved can you figure out who done it and can their love survive through it all?

Another amazing story by one of my favorite authors , shadows surrender was so good which isn't surprising . Loved the story line and the characters just everything . I can't wait to read mo e of this series it can be read as a standalone but I do recommend that you start from the first book . If Chisholm wildest is new for you you need to get her books as soon as possible .

The Insurgents are back!! Shadow’s Surrender is an epic love story filled with suspense, romance and killer twists that will knock you on you a$$! The world of the Insurgents is not one for their women to enter into lightly. The big reward is that these men once they fall, they fall exceptionally hard and are completely loyal to their woman. They would kill for her, die for her, fall to their knees to keep her by their side, but only for their ONE!
Shadow’s story starts out with a little bit of background from his early years. Following the death of his abusive father, Shadow and his Mum (Carmen) fall on hard times. Living in a trailer park, and Carmen working at a strip club isn’t easy for a young Shadow to take. He want to do more for his Mum, he loves her to pieces and couldn’t ask for a better parent. Shadow is Carmen’s whole world and she will do anything to make sure he stays in school and keeps his nose clean. Circumstances change and Shadow is forced to live his life without his Mum in it. Fast forward 15 years and Shadow is a lifetime member of the Insurgents MC who runs his own successful business. It may not be exactly the life his Mum wanted for him but I am sure she would be very proud. He is living his life for himself, whiskey women and the open road.
When Shadow attends he best friend Eli’s engagement party the last thing Shadow is thinking will happen is an out and out hot, steamy, passionate encounter with a stunning society girl, Scarlett. They come from two different worlds, they would never have anything in come except their fire between the sheets, it should just stay as a brief hot moment in their lives. Let's start off by saying that the more we read by Chiah Wilder the more we fall in love with her books and characters. The story was pretty much about about how opposites attract. Scarlett may come from money but, she is not like all the other rich princesses as she feels like she is in prison all the time.
Shadow was feeling unsettled for some time and meeting a women he can't seem to stop thinking about is about to change all that.
I loved Scarlett from the onset of the story as she was beautiful and funny and had this really big heart but, she was tired of pleasing everyone but herself and Shadow turns out to be the one indulgence she can't seem to live without.
Shadow- I loved the sexy biker as he was funny and seductive but, once he stops fighting his feelings for Scarlett nothing will get in his way from keeping her even if he's already decided that he doesn't deserve her. Scarlett's family is powerful and ruthless and has ever ending funds but, this does not sway the man in the least.
Overall we loved this story from cover to cover and everything in between the chemistry between these to characters was off the charts and their sexual encounters hotter than hell.There is so much to the story like secrets and lies and a big whopping revelation for these things alone it made the story all the more engrossing.As always we loved being revisited and getting reacquainted with all our favorite characters.We just love this series and are so looking forward to reading the next one in its series.

Well rounded 4 star read!!
This is book fourteen in the Insurgents MC. I have read all of them. I was engrossed and I loved reading about Shadow. The nickname his mom gave. He was her little shadow. This book is a great mix of romance and suspense. Hadow and Scarlett could not be more different. I always worry that with so many books in a series will it be repetitive. It wasn't. It was fresh and I loved the contrast between the two main characters.
Shadow grew up on the wrong side of the tracks to an abusive father. He feared for himself and his mother. He started to fight back when he got older and then his father was killed in a bar fight now his mom is struggling to survive.
Scarlett is of privilege. Her parents want what is best for her, but she just wants to love her life. She was a great person that didn't let her status define her. She has instantly attracted to Shadow when they meet.
The book starts giving us Shadow’s beginning, which sets up the rest of the book. Shadow and Scarlett meet and Eli’s, his best friend who takes him in after his mother is murdered engagement party. Sparks fly when he sees her across the room.

Loving the combination of suspense and romance! This book starts out with somewhat of a prequel to give us information about Shadow and his past, giving us insight into what events caused him to become the person he is. Scarlett has grown up in privilege, but is finding out that as she gets older she really wants a life all her own and can’t stand the privilege. When she meets Shadow at a mutual friends engagement party, the sparks fly instantly. Afterwards, they run into each other and while they both know they should stay away from each other, they can’t seem to fight the pull between them. Shadow really helps Scarlett take the initiative in taking her life into her own hands and making the decisions to make the plans a reality. In addition, Scarlett helps Shadow to show that he is more capable of feelings than he thinks. What really made this book for me was the suspenseful aspect regarding Shadow’s mother’s murder and how it ties into Scarlett and her family. While I enjoyed the romance and relationship between these two, I really couldn’t wait to finish the book in order to find out who murdered Shadow’s mother – and I was totally surprised at who it was! Definitely kept me continuously guessing and made it an enjoyable read.

Shadow is HOT!!
I wasn’t sure how a rich girl and a badass biker could possibly work out, but Chiah Wilder always creates such amazing characters, so it’s no surprise how Shadow and Scarlett are, strangely enough, perfect together.
Of course all of Chiah’s books are steamy—she sure knows how to write scenes that are sexy as all hell. But what I love even more so is the dialogue between the brothers in the Insurgents’ clubhouse. Their back and forth banter is hysterical. These guys never let up on one another, and it’s always Hawk (their VP) who’s the voice of reason or has had enough.
There are plenty of twists and turns when a couple of people from Shadow’s past are murdered. When The who-done-it is revealed, I have to say I didn’t see that one coming.
Another great job by a brilliantly talented author! Five stars for me.

Shadow and Scarlett met at friends engagement party. Shadow was in civilian ware at the time, suit & tie job. He planned just to make an appearance for his friend then leave, but when he spies the beautiful rich Scarlett he can’t take his eyes of her and his plans change, especially when Scarlett becomes taken with him and despite her parents wish for her to have a relationship with another man, she and Shadow have the best hookup...EVER!!!
Now they can’t keep there hands of each other, even though they come totally different backgrounds. Will their lifestyles ever go together?
Lots of steamy romance and a tough fight as they try to stay apart. There’s also mystery plus tension making this a entertaining MC and a great addition to the series.

I had no clue what I was getting into
I’ve never read anything by this author but it’s an MC, the blurb grabbed my attention and I was like why not. Happy to report I was not disappointed in the least! Although I haven’t read the books that came before in this series, I had zero issues not just following along but becoming completely engrossed in the insurgents world! Definitely makes me want to go back and read the rest! I loved that it had some serious wtf moments that threw me for a loop and wasn’t predictable!

Shadow and Scarlett are in for a wild ride. He loves his club and they will always come first. His moms killer needs to be found and brought to justice. He meets Scarlett, they have a few moments of fun and then they go their separate ways. These two consume each other. The storyline is fantastic with the new love budding and all the danger and drama. Excellent writing.

Loved this! But can I just say... SPOILERS BELOW....
THAT I AM SICK AND TIRED OF READING ABOUT FUCKING KRISTY THE CLUB GIRL BEING IN LOVE WITH HAWK? CHEESUS CRUST, GIRL MOVE ON ALREADY!
Dear Chiah, can you kill her off already or have her go to another club? Being in love with a married man for years, a man who wasn’t even faithful to you when he was single (she was his favorite club girl but that’s it) is just pathetic! I cringed when I read Kristy and Hawk’s exchange in one of the earlier books about if he ever cheated on Cara, it would be with her and honestly, why is Kristy even a plot point?! It almost makes me afraid that Kristy and Hawk will have something together at some point in the future, the way the author keeps including her love for Hawk at random fucking moments throughout the series!

Overall this was a good book, but out of all the Insurgents thus far, I think Shadow was the biggest a$$hole. Hawk was a total duch in this one, way more than he was in his book. XD It had great suspense, romance, steamy scenes, a touch of violence like I like it, but the guys just seem like bigger a$$hole's in this one. The women thus far weren't blatantly told they were 2nd class citizen's and they would not and could not question when the club came 1st, or outright disrespected any of their brother's women, like Hawk did to Scarlett. All of that lost this book a star.

WHAT A SURPRISE
I never saw the villain in this story. I was shocked. Shadow didn't even consider only one woman until he meets Scarlet at his buddies engagement party. She's wealthy but can't give up Shadow. Revenge is a dish served cold and Shadow's took 15 years. This was one of my favorite books in the series.

Couldn't put this down and finished in one sitting.
My heart went out to Shadow and had tears in my eyes when reading certain parts. Loved the chemistry between him and Scarlett.
I did have my suspicions about the murders and I was correct. Love reading about the Insurgents and hope there is more.

Seriously dislike wish-washy heroines. The twist in the book was decent. It could have been a number of candidates. It was a slow read as it just didn't grab my attention. An ok read.

Oh my, Chiah Wilder, in all her brilliant glory, brought back those sexy as hell, bad a** Insurgents, and I couldn't be happier. Obviously, this is Shadow's story (It says it in the name for those who didn't catch it), and it's a great one! Shadow grew up in an abusive household, as his father hit him & his mother, so when said father was killed in a bar fight, Shadow was so happy, as he loved his mother more than anyone in the world, however, money was now tighter than it's ever been, so his mother had to take a job that wasn't so great. She finds herself a sugar daddy/new love after some time has passed, but one night while Shadow had snuck out, and was late, he got home to find his mother had been murdered. I'm telling you his back story for a reason, as it's the catalyst for his baggage & darkness since he swore he would never stop trying to find her killer. Fast forward to present day. It had been many years, but his mother's murderer still hadn't been found, and while the police had kept as an open investigation, it had gone cold by the time Shadow was a full member of the Insurgents MC. Scarlett Mansfield is a girl who never had to worry about money, however, her parents controlling her life?! Well she had that in spades, to the point of being told who to date, and then to marry him, as it was her job as a woman of means to follow that path. At one of her friend's engagement parties, she comes face to face with Shadow, as he was there because his best friend would be the groom. They have such insane sparks that she hooked up with him at the party, and it was the hottest experience of her life. Neither could get the other out of their head, so when Shadow was helping a brother with a big project her father had hired them to do, all of a sudden, they started hooking up on the regular. This series just gets better and better! Once you start this book believe me you won't put it down until its finished!
Take the finest Champagne (Scarlett) and the strongest neat whiskey (Shadow) and you have the making of the perfect book.
Shadows younger life was steep in heartache after the murder of his abusive father; Shadow thought he and his mom (Carmen)would now have the chance to live a normal live - Shadow was Carmens whole life and she would do anything for him - life wasn't easy and Carmen has to work in a strip joint but she didn't care as long as her son had the things he needed! Live get better when Carmen meets a rich man who promises he is about to leave his wife -he sets Carmen up in a great apartment and for a while life is good `although Shadow and the mystery man never meet - but then one day when Shadow turns 15 his mom is brutally murdered 15years later Shadow is now a member of the Insurgents MC and still hunting the killer of his mom believing the rich 'sugar daddy' is the man responsible. Life though is good for Shadow and his brothers in the MC; he owns his own business and makes good money and the MC is now his family.

Loved it
I was pulled into this book right from the get go and that is where I stayed until I had read every single word that was written. All the while watching the story play out in my head with my mini movie.
There are twists, turns and surprises throughout the book, some of the surprises are large and some are small. Some you may see coming, while others you won't, some may actually pull on your heart strings. But each and everyone has equal importance within the story line.
The emotions that the characters go through can be felt. I actually went through the emotions along with the characters, only I laughed and cried more than any of them. I actually got more frustrated with a couple of characters but they redeemed themselves in the book.
I highly recommend this book, if you haven't read any of the series, I would suggest you read the series in order, as it will give you a better insight with regards to how the MC is ran and where the characters fits within the MC.

We get a glimpse into Shadow’s past. When his father passed away his mother chose the quickest and easiest way to make money, by stripping. We jump ahead 15 years, Shadow is now a member of the Insurgents.
Shadow likes the lifestyle and isn’t looking for any one special. That is until he meets Scarlett at his best friends engagement party and they have a steamy encounter. Scarlett is in a different lifestyle than Shadow., she has grown up with money. When fate steps in and these two continue to have encounters it quickly grows into more. Shadow is a great influence on Scarlett, he helped her come out of her shell and become stronger.
Of course things are never that simple and we get some big twists that could cause issues for them. Can they get through everything and have a HEA? The secondary characters added a great element to the story. Chiah continues to pull me in with her writing and this series. I can’t wait to read more. 1-click and get started today.

Like this series
I always look forward to reading any Insurgent MC book that comes out. Shadow and Scarlett are spot on with their chemistry. Shadow went through so much in his young life I'm glad he found his closure and happiness.
This book was a bit more mild than some but still a great read.

I was completely blown away with this installment of Insurgent’s MC. Shadow and Scarlett story is crazy ride. Shadow’s pass is not a happy one abusive alcoholic father who was killed in a bar fight. Shadow lost his Mother when he was a teenager and she was dating a rich man who had moved her and Shadow into a nice high rise apartment. Scarlett was born into the world with the silver spoon in her mouth and money so she has no need to work and spends her days at the country club and trying to do what her Mother and Father want. Even if that means marrying Warren the equal silver spooned son of her father business partner; but she hates Warren and wants a job and to live her own life with a man of her choosing. Shadow attends he best friend Eli’s engagement party the last thing Shadow is thinking will happen is a steamy, passionate encounter with a stunning Scarlett they are both from two different worlds. But what Shadow and Scarlett did not except is their past to come to light and all secrets and lies that came with it. This is a good rea!!

When Shadow met her he wasn't wearing his cut. He'd dressed in citizen ware for his friend's engagement party. The part he planned to make an appearance and leave. He didn't plan to meet a hot rich daughter of a major business. This one is gorgeous and he can't keep his eyes off of her.
Scarlett spots him and is just as taken with him. She wasn't much into one-time hookups but with this guy...despite her parents push for another man Shadow is the one who she can't stop thinking about.
No matter how hard they fight it they can't keep their hands off each other will this go further? Shadow has more than their different lifestyles fighting letting her in his life.
The romance is steamy, touching, and a fight for each of them. There are mysteries that could make accepting them into each other's life. I loved the couple and seeing the club. They are a hard group and it is a challenge to keep them together.
